Location: Located five miles east of Colorado Springs, Peterson Air Force Base is located in El Paso County, Colorado, off U.S. Highway 24. Colorado Springs also hosts the United States Air Force Academy to the north, Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station located to the west, Fort Carson, Army Post to the South, and Schriever AFB to the east.

I love Colorado Springs. It’s my hometown, and in my opinion, being stationed there is amazing. You’re at the front door of the Rocky Mountains, in the state with the lowest obesity rate in the country (CBS News), with great schools and a fabulous area to raise a family.
