Fuel for the day

A day that begins at the Pancake Pantry can’t be beat!  Located in Hillsboro Village, this world famous eatery offers 24 delectable varieties of pancakes sure to please any picky eater’s palate.  The Pancake Pantry has been family owned since its opening in 1961 and has kept true to its classic recipes ever since with local (and top secret!) ingredients.  For a breakfast the whole family can enjoy, be sure to head over early as a line quickly forms around the block with people eager to get a taste of this Nashville tradition!

Adventures & Animals

After you quiet those rumbling tummies you’ll be ready for some exploring!  The Adventure Science Center  features close to 3,000 square feet of interactive displays and exhibits including a state-of-the-art planetarium.  No one will be bored here, as they offer a wide variety of hands on activities and live science presentations.  If you’re looking to extend your day out, the Adventure Science Center offers themed summer camps and Science Sleepovers!  Don’t forget to ask for their military discount as admission is discounted for children and adults with ID.

If you have an animal lover in the family you won’t be disappointed with a stop at the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere.  Whether you’re a friend to the fish, mate to the mammals, or buddy of the birds, you’ll be amazed at the natural habitat exhibits and daily activities offered to further enhance your animal knowledge.  Like the Adventure Science Center, the Nashville Zoo also offers youth programs to include Saturday Scouts and Night Owls.  Plan a later trip on June 28th for “Zoovie Night” at sunset to enjoy music, games, face painting and this month’s featured movie “Madagascar”.  Don’t forget-Nashville Zoo offers $1 off admission for military personnel and everyone in their party when you present a military ID!

Ball Game

Looking to please the sports fan of the family?  The city’s own AAA minor league baseball team the Nashville Sounds play at Greer Stadium through September.  Enjoy one of America’s greatest past times and take advantage of their Family Fun Pack including admission, hot dogs, and sodas, or  ask about their Military Discounts on ticket packages!  If you’re looking to see a ballgame in Nashville on Sunday you’ll be in for a treat as the Sounds honor military men and women past and present at Sounds Military Sundays.  In addition to pregame ceremonies, all active and retired servicemen and women receive $5 off Reserved or General Admission tickets with a valid Military ID.

Dont' forget about dessert!

A stop at Gigi’s Cupcakes on your way home will be the cherry on top of your fun filled day!    Their flagship store located at 1816 Broadway carries a variety of specialty cupcakes every day of the week, each of them as delicious as they look!

Nashville is filled with history, culture, and interactive activities the whole family can enjoy, so grab the kids, bring your appetite, and take advantage of all Nashville has to offer just a hop, skip, and a jump away!
