Our boys were at North Branch for 11 years and we remain grateful That they had the opportunity to be there. It was a nurturing and safe harbor for them to grow up in. They especially loved all of the outdoor play opportunities and the time in the woods during recess.

Disrespectful or unkind behavior is not tolerated and teachers work to model and promote conflict resolution and respectful communication.

In my experience teachers assigned a reasonable and age-appropriate work load, without a lot of busy work.

As a graduate of North Branch, I had the opportunity to learn with some of the most dedicated and inspiring teachers I've met, many of whom are still teaching there. I'm still in touch with several and consider them friends and mentors.

North Branch is all about respect and compassion for everyone. Teachers and administrators model this in their interactions with students.

NBS has a strong mission as an independent school that is accessible to the broader community. The leadership team is committed to making the school community a welcoming place and a great learning environment for lots of different kinds of learners.

Small class sizes and teachers who work one-on-one and in small groups go a long way towards helping everyone learn to the best of their abilities.

I had a wonderful experience at North Branch! I attended from pre-school through middle school, and the school provided such a great community to grow up in, and life-long friendships. As a concrete, hands-on learner I really benefitted from the emphasis on outdoor and hands-on projects, and I loved all the creative opportunities for art, music, theater, etc. It's everthing I would want for my own children someday.

Homework is used to expand understanding and is reviewed, and reworked in class as a group if needed. Mastery of the topic is the goal not busy work that students just move on from.

Teacherscommitment to the school and students goes beyond it just being their job. Creative and immersive learning techniques are employed which is a hallmark of NBS.

My 3 students are out of high school now and credit NBS as being an exceptional experience that they are very grateful for.

When our child was bullied, we were told the bully was just acting like a normal child. Our concerns were minimized, though I complained countless times and spent hours on the phone with the director. They do not even know what bullying is and WILL NOT PROTECT YOUR CHILD.

My child was bullied. I was told he was not actually being bullied and the bully's behavior was normal. My child was teased, kicked, hit, spanked, called names, and publicly humiliated by a bully. The administrator refused to acknowledge that the bullying was even a problem and did nothing to protect my child.

I wish I had never sent my child to North Branch. He has been deeply impacted by the continued bullying. He cries himself to sleep at night regularly. Worst decision I ever made.

Does not address bullying and condescends to parents who express concerns

This school victim blames and protects bullies. If they TRULY believed in integrity, compassion, and respect they would not tolerate bullying AND they would have a contract and handbook that provided parents with real options for holding the school accountable for wrongdoing.
