"Warm and Welcoming"
Heritage Hills was a wonderful neighborhood to live in and we really enjoyed our time there. The neighborhood itself is well established and well maintained. When we moved in about half of our neighbors stopped by to say hello and welcome us in. Our street was incredibly quiet at night and during the afternoons there would be kids out playing and neighbors out walking their dogs. We never had an issue with neighbors being rude. I can't speak much on the schools in the area since my husband and I do not have kids currently but I can say that there was lots of young families and fellow military families in this neighborhood. Commute to base about about 15 minutes, assuming you didn't get stopped by a crossing train (they are everywhere in Enid).
I highly recommend living in Heritage hills.

"Wooded Community"
Heritage Hills is located on the north side of town, west of Van Buren. The houses were built in the 1970s and are mainly either owned by locals or are being rented by military members. It has a paved walking trail between the houses and there are swings, playgrounds, and basketball courts along the trail. Each house also has access to a private well, so you don't have to use your city water to water your yard and landscaping. The people are all very friendly - our neighbors are always outside and we've had great conversations with all of them! If you're being stationed at Vance and want to live in a house off base, we recommend this neighborhood. It's only a 10 to 15 minute commute from base (everything here is pretty close together) and the grocery store just outside the neighborhood (a one and a half minute drive from the furthest point in the neighborhood) offers military discounts. Plus, the largest park in the city is just outside the neighborhood, and it has a paved 3 mile loop you can walk, run, or bike, a dog park, tennis courts, and even a small lake that you can fish in or let your dogs swim in. If you want to shop, there's also a shopping center just outside the neighborhood that has cute boutiques, a restaurant, and salons.
