Lack of electives for students to join. It's either choir, football or another sport or you're going to be considered outcast. I took advanced courses and knew NOTHING about the ACT that was required to take prior to college until the last time the test was offered. I personally did not feel like they prepared students enough for college unless you were part of the select few 'special' students. Extremely clique oriented within the school and outside of the school with the community. They either know you/your family or they don't.

My children are currently in this school system, and we have had an excellent experience! The teachers care for the kids, and my kids are learning academically and socially.

I am going back some years to the '50s and early '60's. This school had very qualified teachers at this time. Maxie Cox required approximately two to three hours every weekend along with homework every night.

I attended THS and now my children are in the Tallassee school system. The school staff & students are like a big family. THS is the center of this community. The community is very involved with and supportive of the extracurricular activities such as football, choral, baseball, wrestling, etc. If you are looking for a good school in a wonderful small town this school system is for you.

This school has gone down hill. The students are only offered basic curriculum and very few electives. Half the school is in choir for lack of other things to do. They do not offer the curriculum necessary for students that plan to attend college and the AP classes are a joke. I was in advanced classes all through high school, but learned nothing from the mediocre teachers. All my friend had to take remedial math when they went to college last year because we didn't learn anything. I would like to have better for my sisters that are still in this school...smh!
