The leadership, parent-teacher communication, and intervention is above expectation. Loxley is a small community where the staff knows each students and works to accommodate their individual needs.

My grandson 7 goes to Loxley . My grandson is repeating 2nd grade . I had a meeting with the school . We all agreed to hold my gs back and he would stay with the same teacher next year. Well here we are 2 weeks before school let’s out and Loxley elementary has a new principal. My gs teacher told her my gs would be in her class next year , he loves his teacher and they have a bond. The new principal said no way , wouldn’t even talk about it . Said kids do better with a different teach . Didn’t want the teach to tell me he was getting a new teacher . Well I have done research and found when kids repeat a grade they do better with the same teacher . This new principal comes to our school 1 month before schools out and I’m told this . I will be calling her and letting her know I want my grandson with the same teacher next year and if she says No I will be either home schooling or putting him in a better school. The vice-principal wouldn’t even go to bat for my gs , didn’t want to loose her job . When are ppl going to step up and fight for our children . My gs teacher tried so hard to explain to her it was in the best interest of my gs to repeat and have her . The principal wasn’t having it . My gs is not a statistic. I’m gonna fight for him .

My daughter is supposed to go back to this school in a week and she is crying every day dreading it. She had a terrible experience with her 4th grade teacher last year which she said this lady was prone to yelling and bullying select kids in her classroom and the whole room was always chaos.

I tried to tell her maybe this one teacher was a bad apple but she said she is scared to even see her in the hallway. So I'm moving her obviously.

My daughter got so far behind in Covid. She was a whole grade and a half behind. Her teachers worked with her to get her ahead and she will now be able to move forward with her class. She has come so far and her confidence has been built. My son was also able to maintain his AB honor roll, when we were in Mobile county they fell so far behind. These teachers really care and the communication was always great

Unfortunately, shortly after enrolling our child at Loxley Elementary we experienced several issues and red flags. New reading textbooks sat unopened in the childrens' desks. No homework/practice sheets ever came home even after requested. Nothing was ever sent home showing what my child had completed/learned in the classroom. Within the first nine weeks the students were expected to sit quietly all day in the classroom with very little engagement or they were threatened with line writing, missed recesses and detention that took place in another teacher's classroom. The daily agenda/sign off sheets became a controlling/negative and times threatening tool used by the teacher. Overall our experience has been a negative one and hopefully, these issues will be resolved as children thrive in a more positive and engaging learning environment.

The teachers are invested in their students. Misty Wilkinson is an incredible principal and leader. She has attended almost every meeting I have had at that school. The teachers my children have had always stay in contact, they have even texted me pictures of my kids to reassure me during the day. We left a private school to come to Loxley and have been much happier!

The best teachers come and stay at this school. We have never had one we did not absolutely love!

The school is becoming a Leader in me school. My daughter has always been encouraged to work with other students to resolve problems.

This is the worst school we have ever been a part of. They're disrespectful to my child. They're disrespectful to me when I try to speak with them about my concerns and nothing ever gets resolved. They need to focus on the quality of education that the children are receiving versus just going through the motions of children attending school.

A lot of changes that has appeared at this school. I love the office staff the cafeteria staff Ms. Reba, Mr. Rider, for all the teachers that I've been fortunate to meet and my children that had them they r AMAZING! I'm going to miss them so! A different leader in this school with fresh ideas and new ways to get the parents envolved and truly makes decision based on the truth. Once LES gets this we might actually one day get to be on Chanel 15 Cool Schools!

I love this school!!! I have a first grader here, and she also loves it. The teachers and staff are super friendly and helpful! Everyone at the school knows my little girls name. I can't possible say enough good things. My beautiful little girl is EXTREMELY HYPER!! She is always running, jumping, dancing or singing, and she talks, talks, talks all day!! I was really afraid that she would have trouble in school because of this, she has such a big personality that it can be a little much for some people. But the Loxley staff have been wonderful, and everyone has really taken to her, and made her feel special. For some reason this school gets a bad rep. in Baldwin County and I have no idea why. I love it!! Unfortunately, my family is about to move to another state, and my daughter and I both could not be more upset about having to leave this school!

Has great teachers and a principal who will listen and they take the time to get to know the students.

The principal has taken the time to listen to our concers and take steps to make changes

I agree with the parents describing the Principal as terrible. She and the School are both hopelessly inadequate. They are a diservice to the children and the community. Leadership is everything and this school has none!

Worst excuse for a principal I have ever seen in any school. My children have been in Baldwin county schools since 1999 and we loved every minute of it until we moved to Loxley and found out where the bottom of the barrel is located. Communication does not exist between the parents and the teachers and if you try to get some assistance from the principal she treats you like an illbehaved child that is demanding more for your child than is available to the other children. I guess nothing is supposed to be good enough for everyone. Its a brick wall and I suggest, if you are investing in your childrens future that you stay far away from Loxley Elementary.

What truly makes a good school is the parents and their involvement in their childs education. When you walk in the office and down the hallways you will feel the love and family atmosphere. Our family love this school, the counselor, principal and teachers. The teachers will provide the help and push that your child need to make them a good student. Great job Loxley!!!!!!

After I heard about one of the PE teachers grabbing a kid and some of the people covering it up I pulled both my child out and sent him to Daphne.

Love this school & LOVE the principal! The only complaints that I've heard are from parents who have kids who get in trouble. She is tough on discipline, but sweet to the kids & we have an awesome school because of it! Keep it up Dr. Ramey!!!
