Any parent considering this school should meet with the owner first and take that into consideration. While the class sizes may be small, the school will follow the state guidelines and allow for an unreasonable teacher/student ratio. This happened to us and we ended up with a very chaotic classroom with unhappy children and a very unpleasant teacher. There is just something not quite right with this school.

HCCA isn't for everyone. As you see from the reviews, parents either love it or hate it. The school is known for teaching children to read at age 4. Academically, it is impressive. However, they accomplish this by having small children sit quietly in their seats for hour upon hour listening in a lecture-style learning format. As another parent said to me, you should go spend an entire day in the classroom - not an hour or two, but an entire day - and then you'll know if it's a fit for you. (It wasn't for her and in time, we concluded it wasn't a fit for us.)

Excellent Christian school with seasoned teachers that have a heart for the Word of God. HCCA's desire is to instruct and train up a child in the way they should go, believing when the child is grown that they will not depart from Godly instruction. By using the A Beka curriculum the children have a sure foundation for reading and comprehension skills giving them a great start to their educational development.

This is Maya's second year at HCCA. It's clear to Gramma and Grandpa that this is a safe place to learn, laugh, love and grow. To be able to come and share these moments with our princess in this school is a rare priveldge and a great joy! Thank you for allowing us to join you on Grandparents Day. We will always remeber those special moments with Maya! God Bless you all,. Keep up the excellent work.

This school is the best! I love teaching the children and seeing each child grow (in all areas) during the school year. The children are what it's all about. I work with great teachers and administration. God has truly blessed our school and families.

The teachers here are great, but have absolutely no support from the administration. They are extremely underpaid and never given planning time. As soon as the Assistant teacher is in ratio they are asked to leave early in order to ensure that they are not getting paid if they don't have to. The teachers and children are taken advantage of....moved to different rooms, and constantly over ratio. The owner does not care about the children or teachers.....only about making extra money. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE.

We are very concerned with the high turnover and delusional owner of this school. And yes- there was another negative review about this school but it was somehow removed. I don't know why. Maybe the owner had something to do with that. First of all, the school is called Hampton Cove Christian Academy, not "Hampton County Christian Academy." Why is the incorrect name in this site's database? Our child was underfed when he went there and had four teachers within about nine months. Something is seriously wrong when you see teachers and administrators leave within a month to two months time period. We kept getting letters about new secretaries, assistant directors, and teachers and how "the Lord led them to move on." IT WAS WEIRD. There are many better child care centers in the area to check out. Yes, if you live in Hampton Cove, it is convenient, but at what price? Our child's unhappiness and the fakeness of the founder led us to pull him out. Please be prepared to have your child have multiple teachers in a short time period. This is very unstable. If you are looking for a caring Christian environment, this isn't it!

Where is the third review? Under the google list for this site it said something about you should go somewhere else, there's a high turn over and the place is disfunctional....where is that review??? I am having concerns and have noticed a lot of turnover in staff in the few months i have been there. I loved the mmo teacher but she just left. Not sure about the new teacher, she seems nice but i wasn't given any background on her.
