I am writing to formally report a serious concern regarding my son’s safety while attending this school.

Today, when my son was picked up from school, he had visible scratches on his face and there was still fresh blood present. What concerns me even more is that I was not contacted or notified by any staff member about what happened.

As his parent, I should have been informed immediately that my child was injured, especially when the injury involved scratches to his face and visible bleeding. I should not have to find out about an incident like this only after he is picked up from school.

At this point, I do not feel comfortable with my son returning to school until I receive clear answers about what happened. I am requesting that this incident be formally investigated, including how my son was injured, who was supervising him at the time, what actions staff took after discovering the injury, and why I was not contacted.

I would also like to know the school’s policy regarding parent notification when a child is injured and whether an incident report was completed.

Please contact me as soon as possible regarding this matter. My son’s safety is my priority, and I expect this situation to be taken seriously and properly addressed.

If your child attends this school please make sure that they are not afraid to tell you anything . My grandson has been bullied by his teacher severely to the point where he has to go to the doctor for anxiety now. Apparently there is not a dress code for the office staff. When my grandson was checked out was a lady wearing a cut off belly shirt working in the office. I was greeted by another lady with her saying yeah. A car almost hit my grandson in the car rider line. His teacher taunted students, pulled students up by their collars of their shirts, and take care less about her students. Whenever I was told this information about his teacher he was taken out of the school. He is now homeschooled. The office staff does not check IDs on who checks out your child. The car rider line teachers do not do this either. All they do is Scream the child's name. This is the most horrendous school that I have ever heard of. It saddens me that anyone has to go through this with their child. Some children only get attention at school. School is supposed to be a safe place in a place for learning. I can only wish that anyone's children do not go through the same experience.

Because of this school my daughter is force to repeat kindergarten because they never actually teach the kids the proper education to prepare them for the next school year. This school only cares for their own kind and discriminate and has to many e-learning days for staff personal fun days based off their social media page and as a parent of experience knowing how ridiculous it was to work with this school.

This school needs all new teachers a principal everything. I have never dislike or had so many problems from a school. Its disgusting how they treat the students being rude and mean. It's not right. Someone needs to make a huge change. Online this school is one of the worst schools in phenix city. That's sad.

Mrs. Ray is an awesome principal. My son loves her dearly. When I first meet her we clicked like sisters. Any problem you have she will handle it in a nice and professional way. Hands down best school in town.

My kids are out of district and will continue to be for the 2016-2017. I love this school. Mrs. Raye and Mrs. Kimball are some wonderful ladies. They listen to your concerns and always allow you in the classroom with no hesitation. The kids love their teachers. The teachers are really great with my kids and great motivators.

This school is an outstanding place for children to learn. The new leadership for the last two years has tuned this school around. They Principal and Assistant Principal have put a light in these children's eyes. They believe in working hard and the numbers have incteased in A & B students. Incentives are not just for certain children, every child can achieve goals to benefit a chance at incentives. I am proud for my child to be A PCES Hawk!

PCES has a wonderful Office Staff . The Principle and Asst. Principle are two of the most professional people I know. The Teachers are a joy to be around as well.
The needs of the child seem to be the most important qualities in this school.

The faculty is very friendly and always helpful. The school itself is warm and inviting. Students love the environment, and it is conducive to learning.

Phenix City Rotary is pleased to support Central High School Community Problem Solvers in their Blossoming Education project site at Phenix City Elementary School. Our civic club and local high school students have joined together to redevelop a handicap accessible "peace" garden, refresh the play area and encourage the redevelopment of a nature trail adjacent to PCIS. Principal Jones and the faculty are engaged partners.

THE INFORMATION ON THIS WEBSITE IS INACCURATE. The test scores listed are too low, the school information is out of date and, in many cases, just strange. According to the website, we offer Cantonese, and Mandarin as well as band, and orchestra. We do not. It lists 27 organized sports here but elementary schools in Phenix City do not offer organized sports. Many parents have toured the school and enrolled their students here. Some have said that the picture presented by Great Schools was not an accurate one. As the principal, I invite you to come and visit our school. You will receive a tour of the facility and may then decide for yourself. Our military families are often pleasantly surprised and have taken a great deal of pride in sending their children to this student-centered, technology-rich school. GreatSchools.com wants to sell you batteries or allergy medicine and has no incentive to provide you with accurate information. While some of the parent ratings are very flattering, they are usually based on one positive experience (or one negative one). Come for a visit. David Jones, Principal
