spanish fort high is overhyped tbh. most of the teachers either don’t care or play favorites, and admin acts like they’re running a prison instead of a school. rules are strict for no reason but only enforced on certain people. barely any real support for mental health or students struggling, they just tell you to “get your grades up” like that fixes everything. the whole place is about image, not actually helping kids.

Students do not learn, higher ups at school are collaborating w/administrators and are protecting each for bonuses and promotions at the expense of taxpayers and the quality of education the kids are not getting. The school rating is a gimmick to get people to move there from other areas, you will be disappointed.

Spanish Fort is a good school. They definitely need a bigger cafeteria though.

Have one child that recently graduated and another with one year left. The programs offered here and the education my kids received were top notch. They have lots of AP classes and a great sports program. All of the teachers have been helpful and caring.

The best way to describe it is if you don’t have a friend group or at least a few friends you get made fun of by everyone. Some teachers are OK but most have a short temper and resort to threats(move us or punish us) in stead of warnings and whenever on person does something bad they punish the class instead I’ve only had one good teacher so far and he constantly gets in trouble because of the dumbest reasons the most recent one being he made friends with his students. They put way to much funding in sports and coaches with teaching a easy class to keep them in the school. They Also offer vending machines that never work but overall I don’t recommend this school.

Having the first of our 3 children attend SFHS has definitely been a positive experience. The student body seems to be accepting of all people.

We have had a good experience. It is a competitive environment. A lot of sports are offered. Homework is reasonable.

Its getting worse and worse every day. They're in the process of converting the entire school into an athletic complex. Yeah, let's just get rid of the band director, give the clubs and AP program little funding, and replace it all by hiring more coaches to teach classes as their side job. Also, let's keep teachers like Mrs. Knight. Also, let's be so unprofessional that we have 3 or 4 major media controversies every year. Sounds good to me!

With programs such as Shoot For Change, and the breakfast bunch they have installed, plus the supportive teachers, I think Spanish Fort has done well for those who have a hard time to keep up pace mentally or physically.

It's still going today actually. There are so many opportunities for people to expand and find new things and courses that they like. Some people say if you want to go for art go to art school or for math go to math and science school. But Spanish Fort has it all in those regards. (Especially since they have a really cool program for out of school chances.)

The staff has high expectations of the students. Cheating is not tolerated. The students seem to be proud of their school.

This school is excellent. The staff is kind, vigilant, and professional. The teachers like their job and it shows. The grounds are clean and attractive. The students all receive MacBooks. The band program is fantastic! Advanced diplomas are offered. Graduating seniors get a lot of scholarship offers. The sports teams excel. My exchange students are welcomed by the students. This is truly a great school.

If you have a child with Special Needs Baldwin County in general is the worst of the worst. Good luck!! Spanish Fort High in particular has a good program if your child has severe autism or behavior problems or if they are just your typical child with a "learning disability"and no real accommodations need to be made you may be ok. If your child falls anywhere else in between you will not find qualified teachers here to meet those needs. It is a very sad situation and what a HUGE disappointment!! At some point politics, sports or a job title has become more important than advocating for those who can't advocate for themselves. I guess until you have walked in the shoes of a parent who truly needs a voice and advocate for their child when they can't be there you will never understand.

I have three children in Spanish Fort Schools! I have one that just graduated in 2014, one who will be a Sophomore, and one who will be a Freshman. One thing people have to understand is this area is growing exponentially. Spanish Fort is a suburb of Mobile, but is in Baldwin County. It is growing so fast that yes the school is having to tweak their schedule and see what works best. My children have had some awesome teachers that really care about their well being. Our sports program is blowing everyone else away:). We have won three state football championships in out 8 year existence , two back to back in 2012 and 2013!! Many baseball state championships too many to count , I believe we are at 5!!! The school spirit is great and every child can find what they like and need!! This next year Spanish fort is exploring the Academies !! My child enrolled in the AP academy and there are computer, fashion etc! It's only going to get better at Spanish Fort High School :)

Spanish Fort High School had a great start. When the class of 2014 were just freshmen, it was great. We are now seniors. I would change schools in a heart beat if i could. It has been the worst high school experience you could possibly imagine. I feel that most of my classmates feel the same way. The schedule is the most confusing and complicated situation. I feel that the teachers don't understand how to teach on it so imagine what we as students must feel like. This year, they took away our senior prom because they didn't like it. We don't get a traditional prom anymore. but hey, Go Toro Teachers.. Its been said that 15% of the senior class is failing, but why would our grades matter as long as we are in the perfect right uniform McRae won't even respond to parents emails. What are principles even for? Spanish Fort is a disaster and I cannot wait to get out.

I went to this school, and overall it is not the best school I have been to. The school, and the county district it is in is mediocre. Whenever the school administration mentions it is one of the best schools in the state keep in mind that schools in Alabama are below national averages. Opportunities are limited, and class selection is limited. It is not a welcoming school, if you were not born there most stidents there will exclude you. When the penny sales tax for the school district was being voted on in 2009, and 2012 they tried to munipuliate students, and parents to vote yes for the tax despite it being school time, and on school campus. The school also used the notification system to advance their agenda. I feel going to this school has put me behind in college. If you have to move to the Mobile area I would urge you not to put your child in any public school in Baldwin County.

I was a student and graduated in 2009. Loved the school competitive in every aspect from academics to athletics. Teachers are great and do not cut any corners. Beat school on the eastern shore no matter what.

I graduated from SFHS in 2008 and I believe it's definitely the best school in the area and competes for one of the best in the state. Teachers really challenge students to think outside the box. Parent and community involvement are also very strong. If you are moving to Baldwin County or the Eastern Shore area this is definitely the best high school.

The community is great, and the teachers really get involved with the students and teach well. They also have a great athletic department but they make their students achieve high scores in school to participate
