Trace Crossings Elementary has been such an amazing experience for our family. The diversity of the school is something we truly value. Kids are surrounded by classmates from all kinds of backgrounds, & that creates an environment where everyone feels welcome and included. The teachers are amazing. They clearly care about their students & go the extra mile to help each child succeed, both in the classroom and beyond. It is obvious they put a lot of heart into what they do, & it shows in the way the kids feel supported and encouraged every day. The administration is just as strong. They are approachable, responsive, & genuinely invested in making the school a great place for students, families, & staff. You can tell they work hard to build a positive, supportive culture. The PTO also deserves a lot of credit. They put in so much time and effort to support the school, and it makes a difference. We are so thankful for TCES & can’t imagine a better place for our kids to attend school.

Homework is reasonable in length and is usually given on Monday and due on Friday.

We've only had two teachers- regular classroom and Enrichment. Both have been exceptional at fostering creativity and imagination. We are thankful to have two seasoned teachers this year.

Mr. Collins was one of the first people we met when we toured the school last summer. He is always friendly and welcoming. I enjoy seeing him interact with the students in the halls and he always speaks to me when I'm there. I appreciate his communication of the weekly bulletin and any special announcements.

TCES's Enrichment Program has been wonderful this year. My child has been challenged to be creative and use his imagination. His regular classroom teacher has given him extra work when he finishes before other students and gives him leadership opportunities in the classroom.

We are finishing our first year at TCES and it has been a phenomenal experience. I was nervous transferring him to TCES because of the negative reputation it's had in the past, but I have been nothing but impressed. We've had a wonderful, experienced teacher (Mrs. Walker) who has done a great job meeting my child's academic needs. My child is in the Enrichment Program and has loved Mrs. Tofani because she supports his creativity and imagination. The school's guidance counselor, Mrs. Coleman, is always supportive when my child drops by to talk to her. I admire the leadership from Principal Collins and I am impressed with his calm and caring nature. I have enjoyed all of the activities hosted by the school for parents and children- PTO, College and Career Day, Family Fun Night, student Art Show, and more. Trace Crossings is a gem and I am thrilled that we have two more years there!

Trace Crossings is a wonderful school and we have had nothing but the best experience there. The teachers and staff truly love each and every child there, and they poor their hearts into the jobs every single day. TCES has an awesome new "Maker Lab" where students get hands-on experience in various STEAM subjects. Trace also has a long standing relationship with Samford University who sends 3rd year teaching students to TCES as part of their immersion program. These college students are able to assist teachers with students who need extra help, as well as students who could benefit from accelerated learning. If you have an opportunity to buy a home in a TCES zoned area, I highly recommend you do so!

My son went to TCS from K - 4th -- now at the intermediate school. He is top of his class and is asked to help classmates from other elementary schools. My daughter is in her final year at TCS. Both children are leaders in their classes and the community. Trace has been a wonderful experience for both my children and really our entire family. The teachers even know my parents (kids' grandparents) as they have attended many things at the school -- Awards Day, Veteran's Day Program, Talent Show to name a few. I believe this is the only school in Hoover that goes 2 nights to the Space Camp in Huntsville -- such an invaluable experience! Outstanding faculty. Track Team. Robotics Team. Peer Helpers. Dance Teams. Community Garden. Pep Rallies with the High school. field trips to high school art lab for use of the kiln. Brand New playground. Culture Fair. SO many wonderful things!!!!! WONDERFUL Teachers and excellent academics!

Trace is a terrific school with great administration and many qualified teachers. My son has attended 2 years and wants to try everything offered. The teachers encourage him and are very involved in his learning. He comes home all smiles and can't wait to start another day!

I have one child who has gone all the way through Trace Crossings, and another who is there now. We all love this school! The teachers and faculty are like family, and treat the children like their own! There are so many extras available to students! We have an award winning science/robotics team, and that's just one of the many amazing opportunities available there. We would not want to go anywhere else!!

We moved to Birmingham to go to Trace Crossings. I have four kids and two are still there. I have been so impressed with the teachers and principal. The school has a science lab that compares with my college science lab that the students have used numerous times. My second grader grew vegetables in the school garden and made vegetable soup for the staff. The school offers many clubs and extra curricular activities such as dance, track, academic teams, etc. My husband and I would recommend this school to anyone wanting their child to be challenged and be surrounded by a multi-cultural atmosphere.

This is the best elementary school in Hoover. I admire the fact that Trace Crossings provides professional development for the surrounding schools. I am privileged that my child is a huge part of the aWEsome things happening at Trace Crossings. The faculty and staff go above and beyond to meet the needs of each and every student.

Our son arrived at Trace Crossings a little behind in reading after attending a private school the year before. Since then, the teachers here have helped him excel to the point he has been accepted into the school's gifted program. We could not be more pleased with the education our son is getting and look forward to our daughter enrolling next year in Kindergarten.

Excellent School! Great learning environment for students, excellent teachers who care for children, safe and clean facility. The curriculum is challenging, the extra-curricular offerings are enormous and the school has incredible computer/science labs, as well as a new state-of-the-art playground.

This is our first experience with the public school system. So far it has been a good one. We have a first grader and a third grader and were surprised when they sent a nook home with our third grader and are working to incorporate technology in and out of the classroom. The new principal is highly visible and seems to be involved with redirecting the school at large. The overall communication is decent so far, not perfect but ok. The fact that all of the new hires seem to have Masters degrees is encouraging. A parent handbook or something for new families would be really helpful, we've already had to find out a few things the hard way. So far it seems a little less academically challenging than we were used to so we will be monitoring our children's progress closely. That said, our kids feel cared for and have adjusted quickly from private to public school.

When we relocated to AL, we chose Hoover because of the schools. What a disappointment!!! We now are paying for private school for second grade! It is a shame that a beautiful community such as Trace Crossings has such a lousy school.. Poor social and educational environment. Big disappointment! This school needs complete restructuring!!!

I am the mother of currently a 4th grader at TCES. This is her third year there. I have been very pleased. All of her teachers have taken an active role in ensuring my daughters success. I have been an active parent in school activities and field trips. I also participate in parent/teacher meetings. The teachers are very open to meeting with parents and assisting my daughter in extra math activities, which I have requested. I love TCES. My daughter also Loves TCES.

I absolutely LOVE Trace Crossing Elementary! My son started the Pre-K program there approximately two months ago. His speech is delayed so he requires special services. His speech therapist and teachers are WONDERFUL, and I can tell they genuinely love what they do! The care and attention they have shown my son has relieved my anxieties considerably! He is met with smiles and enthusiasm every morning! He cried for the first three days of school but now stretches and gets out of the car with no problem! I believe my son feels very confortable and accepted there as his performance has been very positive! He hasn't had a bad day yet! Whether your child/children require special services or not, Trace Crossing Elementary is a great place to condsider educating them!
