Both the school counselors and primary principal are narcissists.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to describe my experience with this school in very much detail because I'd like to remain anonymous. However, I'm able to say my experience at Spanish Fort Middle School was absolutely horrid. The staff and administrators here are both hypocritical and pretentious, particularly the counseling department. This school claims to strive for inclusivity and empathy, but that couldn't be further from the truth and it disgusts me to see Spanish Fort Middle advertised this way. At this school, it is normalized to discriminate students that do not follow the conservative standard of Spanish Fort.

this school sucks and the students are the worse, i always focused on the phrases “ignore them and they’ll stop” and “they’re only doing stuff to get a reaction out of you” but even if i don’t give any sort of reaction they literally still bother me . it’s so annoying that kids have nothing else better to do than annoy some kid who just wants to get good grades and pass for they can get to the next grade level and idk why they’re talking, all of them either vape or drink. all of the staff talk about this school “being the best in the county” but this school has worse reviews than other schools close by. they also care more about phones and dress code than actually problems like bullying. they do all these types of fundraisers and events to raise money but then waste it by adding useless stuff like letters that spell out “Spanish Fort Middle School” . the students also always say they love God or have a some bible quote in their bio but then drink/smoke and judge others. overall worst school i’ve ever been to and i blame these unfunny and annoying students.

As someone who has seen the school on both ends, I’ve seen many bullying instances ignored.

Terrible school leadership. This school appears to achieve solid Testing scores but this is strictly because of the wealth in the area. The school greatly underperforms. Also, the amount of issues that are sweept under the rug are outrageous.

They have several solid Special Educstion instructors. The major issue with the school is the leadership.

Middle schools are difficult, challenging places. However, SPMS, you should be much better than this.

We have moved from another state and have been very pleased with this school. The students and faculty have been wonderful.

My child went here for a short time and it was horrible! The teachers would not teach and accommodate my child in the IEP that was in place to help. My child has health issues but does not need to be in severe special Ed class and they asked me if I wanted to put my child in that class! My child receives no accommodations at a private school now is on the A - B honor roll. All it takes is for teachers to teach!

We have been so pleased with Spanish Fort Middle School. All of the teachers that my son has had have been pleasant to deal with. They encourage students to be involved in Project Outreach, a SF wide organization that fosters relationships between the special ed & regular ed students. As much as is possible, they keep a tight rein on the students' behavior, and from what I've seen discipline cases are dealt with quickly.

My child's school is a lovely environment with teachers who love their kids. Peter Allen is my student's favorite teacher because he truly loves to enlighten his students. Cafeteria food is wonderful, field trips are fun, but also deep and educational. Classroom settings are quiet and good learning environments. The only problems we've encountered at this school are several teachers who are not willing to improve students' grades or try different teaching methods for the benefit of my kid, a vicious social structure among students, and favoritism displayed by teachers. However, most teachers suppress favoritism and keep bullying and cliques in check. If you are concerned with your child's grades, the Information Now grading information website is often under construction, so it is difficult to see how one is doing in grades. Overall, though, this middle school is superior among public intermediate schools, being very new and clean, with an understandable floor plan.

This is a new school (a few yrs old), so they are still trying things out to make it the best school it can be! The principal is awesome!! He is not only just a principal but also a parent! His kids go to this school also. He is always looking to improve the school, and wants the kids to enjoy coming to school and learning. He is trying new programs this year because alot of kids who tried out for sports teams didn't make it, and wanted the kids to have other alternatives, and not feel left out of any clubs or programs! He is striving for better education! He just put alot of money he recieved from grants(?) that he put into a county wide program for the kids to get laptops because their books are outdated. And yes they do have special ed and gifted kids at this school and they are proud of the fact that they can offer education for those kids! These kids come from as far away as Foley to attend this school. This is the best middle school in our county for sure!!

I have had a lot of experience with Spanish Fort Middle School, and while some teachers foster love of learning, some don't have control over their class rooms. Administration seems to not be able to decide whether they're going to be tough on kids or let them run the place. "Rewards" for "good" kids are ill-done and are really havens for "bad" kids. Fighting is not always punished, at least not until too late. There are some challenges in the academic program, but the classes are a mix of special ed and gifted. Athletes occasionally get special treatment. Anyway, its an ok school, but not the best.
