This school has been through terrible years where the staff, faculty, etc. have no respect for each other or students. Recently has gotten better but that isn't saying much. The students aren't interested in learning because the current principle shuts the door on any of the students' creativity. The art department, for example, has been put through the wringer. The band has suffered drastically due to a lack of consistent leadership and a great director was put in place, he was fired for a complaint from a student that was mad because she wasn't able to keep up with the progress due to a lack of musical skill/ effort. From having, what was widely regarded as, one of the best bands in the city and the overall state with a wide fanbase and support group, to having almost 10 members and not having any resources for uniforms in a few months and the downward spiral is only getting worse. But that is just one aspect. The sports department on all fronts is also hampered by the new regime put in place by the Principal.

I have yet, to see what's the purpose of this school, it looks nice on the outside but overall no learning going on here

My daughter had a few incidents where she was being harassed and I reported them both and nothing was done nor did any one followed up

Was a teacher at this school, and to use an old country adage: you can put makeup on a pig, but it's still a pig. the facility is nice because it's brand new, but the "students" will make short work of that - vandalism, writing on all the walls, breaking desks, leaving trash everywhere. Three years in, they havent even finished building the school, and it's already overcrowded. Class sizes are too big, and worst of all, teachers get almost zero support from administration. Admin is only concerned with not getting in trouble with the district - referred to as "downtown". Teachers are expected to deal with oversized classrooms, constant interruptions, behavioral issues, lesson plans, endless emails and training sessions (all while trying to TEACH kids who have no desire whatsoever to learn) and only hear from administration when being criticized or reprimanded. Not sure if this is MPS-wide or simply a PCHS issue, but I would never recommend working here to anyone.

School lacks leadership entirely. The current principal is extremely passive aggressive and shrugs off responsibility unto others. His APs do the same. Unless cornered with an issue or pressured by the district office, they act like everything is no big deal.

Teachers cannot be effective due to being over-burdened and under-supported by administration. The only "good" teachers for this job are those who just want to collect a paycheck (glorified babysitters)

Homework is pointless - students never do it, and because of MPS policy, teachers must allow students to make up the work all the way up to the last week of the marking period (the day before report cards post)

The facility is modern, the faculty conscientious and caring. The building and classrooms are clean, safe, and technologically advanced.
The administration is very responsible and always works to improve the educational and social experience students have at Park Crossing.

The newest public high school in Montgomery. Park Crossing has great teachers and a wonderful principal.
