this school SUCKS. I would know because I attend it. and even if someone finds out who ACTUALLY wrote this review, it's gonna be hard because I actually have comprehensive writing/typing skills. Mrs Johnson is pretty cool though. She's the cosmetology teacher and she sells snacks (at the time of writing this review, of course.) otherwise, it's nothing special. 0/10 if I could.

As an educator from another part of the state, I have been impressed with the level of comitment by the staff and especially Administration to implement education through effective learning practices coupled with addressing behavior concerns through a Restorative Justice lens. Security is a top-priority and a paid security staff has been in place for years. The College Azademy is preparing learners to be prepared for college. There are well-funded CTE opportunities for a variety of interests including Cybersecurity, Welding, Cosmetology, Industrial Maintenance, and excellent afterschool programs including the Robotics team, Greensource, and Cyberpatriots. The coaches are educators first at this school with student athletes expected to be acadmically successful, to participate. The Collaborative team is composed of seasoned professionals who care about their students and seek their best. The greatest challenge of the current times is student cellphone use and the switch during Covid to online instruction. Though Chromebooks are in use, much direct instruction is implemented at Jemison HS and cellphone use is minimized through district and schoolwide directives for participation. The student body and faculty is diverse. Student attendance issues are the greatest present concern among faculty.

Jemison High School has great teachers that make school fun and educational! The College Academy program is fantastic too. The ability to take college classes from UAH professors and graduate with up to 60 college credits for free!!
