I am a graduate of Enterprise High school. I attended the full four years, including the year the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
From personal experience, the priority of the school is clear: test scores and athletics. Nothing more. That's all this school genuinely cares about, while the students as a whole are overall disregarded.
The athletics are overfunded to an extremeseeing the multi-million dollar football stadium (which, by the way, is ONLY used for games and the players have an entirely separate field they practice on. God forbid they damage their precious grass.), and the additional baseball stadium that they put in during my senior year of high school (which was yet another multi-million project). Meanwhile there is a perfectly functional football stadium (it's in good condition too, there's nothing wrong with it whatsoever) that has been in the city for longer than the school itself that's less than a five minute drive away. Not to mention the pre-existing baseball fields (plural, yes) at Johnny Henderson Park... though I suppose SIX MINUTES on the road may be too much to ask for a school of such "prestige."
There was no reason for the football and baseball stadiums to even be built, much less for so much money to go into them and the luxuries of the athletics department. The coaches at EHS are paid six figures meanwhile teachers get $500 dollars from the school to spend on supplies for their classrooms. It's a nice school on the outside, and it looks very well taken-care of until you look in the art department and see teachers paying money from their own pockets to provide their students with supplies the school has failed to provide them.
Additionally, there are almost no resources for mental health. School counselors you say? Sure, if you're looking for a college or to change your schedule. Not if you're struggling with anxiety or depression, and etcetera. The most support in that area you'll receive from this school are from teachers themselveswhich brings me to the reason I gave EHS the privilege of having two stars instead of one. I did meet some absolutely incredible teachers while I attended here, and had it been just up to their performance as teachers, this would easily be a five-star review. That doesn't mean there aren't some awful teachers that clearly hate their jobs and take it out on students that want to be there just as much as them, but there are enough teachers that are truly wonderful that made my time at EHS far less miserable.

This school is incredibly ableist. Disability support is rarely given and disabled students are left to drown. The nurses don't do their job and tell disabled kids to stop coming in so much, as well as violating health plans. The school does the bare minimum to call themselves "inclusive", leading parents to think this school is the right fit for their child. Several teachers have made homophobic, transphobic, ableist, and racist comments casually in class and they get no repercussions. Substitutes are always on their phone talking in class. Very few teachers seem to actually want to be at school and don't teach at all, they just hand out worksheets expecting students to understand what they're doing. The mental health and bullying support is slim to none. Fights are constant and those involved are just told not to do it again. During the pandemic, they did the bare minimum to enforce the mask mandate, which left disabled and ill children at risk. They threaten disabled students who HAVE to miss school with court dates and truancy charges rather than helping them succeed in school and giving them the support system they need. If you want your child to have an inclusive, happy, and supportive high school life: do not pick Enterprise.

The people are rude, and the people who work there are awful at their job. Also, students are very mean and the school could care less. BAD BAD BAD SCHOOL!

Aweful! Negative 5 stars would be appropriate. This place has went to trash since my kids first started here from bullying, a Vape epidemic they cant control at all, and poor communication.

The parent must do it with the student but we need to go back to school to learn how to NOT do math or at least how to do simple math the hardest and longest way possible. Plus history is a joke teaching kids garbage in basically one persons point of view while leaving out key portions so to make Americans look as bad as possible. Our military should be proud being made out to basically be the enemy as well as our first presidents and colonists.

This school has a bad gang problem and trouble with teens whove been expelled or not enrolled coming on campus to pick minors up for a ride along to skip school. Im sure we can all gather what theyre doing.

They tell them not to do it anymore. Thats pretty much it. My kid got bullying the year he did bad and they did absolutely nothing. Just there for a check.

There are too many cliques. The administration and faculty encourage the cliques with clubs that do not allow students to just join. Their girls' clubs are like sororities in college in that the girls in the club can keep out any girl they do not like. That makes it hard for new girls in school.

No support here, students are not encouraged to go to college. Administration is a joke. My kids have been to a few high schools now due to military moves and this is by far the worst experience.

This school system has a lot of resources, but they don't use them very well. They have a lot of misplaced pride. If you have a special needs student, just save yourself time and hire a lawyer from the start. Getting services out of this system is like trying to mine diamonds from dried playdoh. The only thing this system has going for it are the teachers. Too bad they are too busy playing politics and not enough time utilizing the full potential of their staff.

I would give it no stars if I could. My son has been in several different schools due to the Military. And this one is the worst by far. The staff is not helpful and he hates going to school everyday. I could go on and on but it's not worth it. He will be out of there soon.Thank god.

My son entered EHS in the 11th grade. He had been in the Enterprise School System for grades 4-7 and moved to nearby New Brockton for 8-10. When we moved back to Enterprise, we were very happy to have him enter EHS. EHS is a very modern facility. There are still a few dinosaurs (teachers) that wander the halls, but overall the GOOD outweighs the bad. Overall - the school has STRONG leadership and GREAT academic programs. Some of the teachers need to leave or retire. Those that need to leave would fit in well with a few of the surrounding schools that don't have strong ANYTHING.

Enterprise High School has all the things greatschool.org requires for a great school. In the 3 years I attended school there, I had many excellent teachers. The school's head principal thinks of the students as his children, and he does his best to make the school a wonderful place to learn. As for challenging academic programs, EHS offers many AP and advanced courses for the students willing to push themselves. All together, I don't think I could have asked for a better high school education. I was leaps and bounds more prepared for college courses than some of my college classmates, and I had completed almost a full year of college credit while at EHS.
