Our sweet school is top notch and a great neighborhood school for all involved! The kids love their school just as much as their parents and thrive yearly as they grow with our diverse staff year to year

We love this school! This is our fourth year here and we have two daughters here. ItÂ’s been fanatic for our daughter with severe dyslexia. The principal and special education/resource teachers go above and beyond to help kids with learning disabilities, adhd, special needs, etc.

This is our fifth year at Jones Valley, and we have had a great experience. My kids have made good friends and been successful academically. The administration and faculty are very good at communicating with parents. I feel that I'm kept well informed about what's going on at school and that the administration and faculty are easily accessible and responsive to questions and concerns. JVE has an active PTA that adds a lot to the school experience for all students.

I have two students at JVE and we have been very happy with their school experience. Mrs. Balentine's return to the school has ushered in positive changes. My children have great friends at school, are consistently (and appropriately) challenged in their classes, and their teachers have done a wonderful job communicating with us. I would definitely recommend JVE to friends and neighbors.

My child is currently in 4th grade and has been at the school since kindergarten. The school was once great, now it is so bad we have moved out of school zone and sending our kids to a different school next year.

The principal is rude, uncaring, and ineffevtive. My 4th grade child was cut by another student at school. I was not notified by any school staff, and once I finally got in touch with principal- she was dismissive and rude. The worst part was the principal had the audacity to tell me she considered the incident an accident. The same child who cut my child, just a few days ago bit another child- this is 4th grade! The aggressive behavior has been allowed to continue all year.

From what I see, this school has went from a real gem a few years ago, equal to a private school, to a mere social experiment for cultural diversity. The kids who want to learn are bullied and run over, by the kids who are just shoved in there. No discipline at home shows no discipline at the school. Why does this city insist on destroying its public school system that used to be a model for the nation? Oh well, at least there is Randolph near by. The private schools are reaping the good kids that are leaving Blossomwood, Jones Valley, and Whitesburg.

These children run all over the teachers and each other. It's sad!

This has not been my experience overall.

Terrible- My daughter is in the first grade. This year she was choked, groped, and bullied on the playground by boys her age. Her teacher at the time did not even have the respect to let me know. Once my daughter let me know, the principle had zero empathy. Anytime that I've called the office to ask questions about events happening at school, nobody has been able to answer my questions, and I usually get transferred so many times that I get hung up on. We moved into town thinking this would be a great school, and it has been anything but! We are thankful for the teacher's class that we got transferred to, which is the only reason I give 2 stars!!

Jones Valley is an exceptional school, with exceptional leaders and teachers! I would not choose to send my children anywhere else!

Our family loves Jones Valley Elementary. Our son is in his second year and we have been blessed to have two teachers that are outstanding. He is now in first grade and is reading at about a 4th grade level consistently. This is a great tribute to the academic focus of the teachers. Our principal and staff are great as well. Wonderful neighborhood school!

I am both parent & teacher new to this school. I feel that I can be objective. First, the principal deserves 5 out of 5 stars! She shows terrific leadership skills and is kind-fair to all. She is a breath of fresh air compared to many of the other principals who rule like Hitler. When morale in a school is elevated, it shows in EVERYTHING - state test results, happy-healthy teachers/students/parents, and overall performance from teachers/kids. My child is being challenged, but he's having fun in the process. Plus, they offer TONS of extracurricular activities. There's no perfect school, but this one comes close! My son and I are blessed!
