In Alabama, crossing guards should not direct traffic when there are no pedestrians present, as their authority is to create a safe gap for children to cross, not to control traffic flow in the absence of pedestrians. Excellent. This is a fabulous school. I wish more satisfied parents would speak up. It's a shame that a few unhappy people taint a school's reputation.

The punishment varies between students. The students that teachers know get more chances be for any disciple is put in place.

It starts at the top. We cannot give students something as facility and staff is not presented.

The middle school principal, and some teachers have a rude and bias way that they deal with the children that they donot care for.

They bullied us as parents. Didnt speak with us and called DHR and they dont care. They need to realize if a Student has been there a year and no issues have occurred, that they dont have to call DHR at the first sign of your child hurting themselves.

They school works by using it teachers and the teachers use the TEACHERS AIDS. They dont care for the kids. They will report you for anything they feel their beliefs go against. They wont speak with the parent fist, they will just report you.

This school seems more intent on preparing children for institutionalization rather than providing a fun and nurturing learning environment. While visiting the cafeteria there, my husband observed a teacher yelling at the kids to "Shut their mouths." When I called the vice principal to complain about this she laughed during much of our conversation, as if that is funny in the least. We have seen a teacher in the parking lot directing the traffic wearing a shirt that said "Sexy" and I've seen a teacher wearing a Budweiser shirt. As a kindergartner there, my son's class was often not allowed to have snack and continuously threatened to miss out on recess due a couple kids in the class misbehaving. Now as a first grader he has not had a snack once. I would recommend all parents facing having to send their kids to this school to seriously reconsider, and do everything in their power to avoid the school.

I am Tina Greer, principal at Morris Elementary School. I am so pleased by the comments made by some of our parents. The staff/faculty at Morris truly is a professional learning community dedicated to developing the potential of every single child. I am using this public forum to personally thank them for the hard work that I see every day. They are responsive to children, parents and to the requirements of their job. I also thank the parents who are so supportive. We currently have 570+ students and just could not be effective as a school without their help. It is a privilege to be the principal at Morris Elementary.
