Harding is a great place. Its fun, safe, and they really emphasize having good relationships with everyone- God, teachers, each other. But its definitely not a diverse or frankly open minded place. If its found out you have drank, smoked, or done anything with the opposite sex on or off campus, youre kicked out. The dress code is strict (however, uniforms are going to be put into place next year so we will see what comes of that). If you come out of the closet, you will be asked to leave. A lot of people who attend Harding do not care about these rules very much, so its not like a tense environment or anything. I say all of this to say that Harding is clean, sometimes wholesome, and oftentimes boring. It can be an amazing experience if you make it to be, but dont ask it to do anything but what its done for 100 years.

As is often the case with smaller schools, there is a narrower selection of academic and extracurricular offerings than a district such as Searcy's. Having said that, the academics are pretty good. Test scores are inflated a little due in comparison to public schools due to students coming from affluent, higher educated, and highly involved parents (all good things but clearly far from average). The best reasons to send your child here are 1) if your public school is in distress (as many in the delta are), 2) if your kid tends to fall between the cracks and underachieve (it's hard to get lost here), and 3) if you are a member of the Church of Christ and want your kid associating with fellow members for the most part. Otherwise, hang on to your money and save it for their college education.

Love the staff and students! Just visiting from Woodland to see if this is the right environment for my son and I love it. Woodland has been a nightmare with the snobbiest of parents and clueless staff. Harding seems to represent themselves in a very professional and friendly way. Briarcrest has also impressed us as well. Have to make a decision between these two but it cant be worse than woodland.
