The most valuable thing my child learned here was what a school should not be. Teachers and students alike often judged rather than supported. Administration had poor boundaries and repeatedly shared personal family matters inappropriately - what shouldve been handled with care became gossip. I had been warned about this place, but I didnt listen. If you value privacy, emotional safety, and professionalism, stay far away.

There is nothing good I can say. Such a disappointment. Overly focused on sports and trying to paint their pig with lipstick. The principal is too busy trying to be friends with her students and keep up her Facebook page.

Since August 2022 the administration, new teachers, seasoned teachers, coaches, and other school staff both in Lower and Upper school have come together to take on likely the biggest challenge in this school's history. Folks in the community did not think this school would survive, but for some reason it has endured many challenges. Despite that the school's enrollment has jumped significantly. 95% of the teachers returned from the 22-23 school year plus more teachers have been hired.

The school has some catching up to do on the technology side of things, and special education. However, it takes time. The Head of the School alongside a qualified administration with the support of the school board will do what it takes in the right way to offer excellent education for the students who parents entrust the school with. The student life here is growing with spiritually focused events, collaborative efforts between teachers and students leading together in organizations of the school, and chapel is becoming fully student-led. This school is not just Christian in name, but also in the desire to see students grow in their faith while being sensitive and caring to students who may not have a Christian background at home.

Sports, band, art, school communications, and robotics team are all activities that students can be involved in. There is an abundance of opportunities for students to be prepared at the next phase of life whether it be college or the workforce. This is becoming the best option for private education (Christ-centered) north of the river!

Dont send your kid here. I got an ultimatum from the principal to get help or find a new school. He LOVES his new school!!! Came home from abundant life everyday crying and upset bc they singled him out. Even though they have kids that have adhd, they yell and treat them with such disrespect!!!! Cedar Heights Christian is a MUCH better place and he has not had one bad day!!!!!!!! Thanks to this school, I will NEVER send my grandchildren here bc of how you guys treat kids!!!!

I have children in the elementary, middle, and high school. We have been apart of ALCA for 5 years. This has been, hands down, the best year my children have had. Teachers are happy, loving, and eager to teach. Any kind of drama, has been dealt with immediately. The new administration cares for each childs safety and well-being. They care about each students education and wants them to be prepared for the next level. Most importantly, the new administration and teachers care about each childs eternal future and prays for each students walk with God. I am proud to say that my children attend ALCA and I am excited to see how God continues to grow and strengthens ALCA in the 2023-24 school year.

This school is a train wreck. Approximately every three years they do something incredibly stupid that results in a bunch of drama and loss of students and teachers. It was a much better school 10 years ago than it is today. They have fired every alumni that has worked for them but one (so far)- four or five that I can count. All were solid, godly teachers and adminstrators. This school has now become obsessed with their little 8 man football team (and sports in general) to the detriment of their academics and their "Christ-centered" education. They dropped out of the AAA, so they now compete in a weak league that gives them a tiny bit more success. The school board is hand-selected by the pastor of Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church, and it consists of the same bad characters over and over and over again. The current head of school is a nice guy but has zero background in education. All in all- its a bad place that is in need of new leadership at the church level first, then at the school level. The need to make the youth pastor the pastor of the church and then maybe he won't try to destroy the school like the current pastor. Send your kids to CAC, IC, or Baptist Prep- all much better schools at every level.

ALCA holds a wonderful Christ centered atmosphere. The school has qualified teachers throughout and a biblical worldview curriculum. The school is growing and moving forward. This is a great school in the heart of Sherwood.

I have a middle school student and an elementary student. I am so impressed with the Bible verses and lessons they have learned this year. My students love it here and are thriving. The teachers are well qualified and spend one-on-one time with students. We are lucky to have such a great school so close to home.

A strong, Christian private school that teaches all subjects through a biblical worldview. I have one student who has graduated, and one currently attending. Teachers are attentive, and love teaching.

Very disappointing. I wanted my kids to be in a positive environment where they could focus on learning and not on social issues such as bullying, extreme gossip, and judgment. Unfortunately the negative things are the most prominent things about ALCA.

It can be very unclear what is expected from students in regards to assignments. Some teachers are difficult to communicate with.

Administration is forced to hire whoever they can instead of the best available because the pay is low. There are a handful of good teachers and some who dont even have a full grasp of what they are teaching.

The parents at this school are snooty, exclusionary, and self-important. Many of their students are the same way and all of this un-Christianlike behavior is enabled by the leadership of the school.

We were told that our kids would be in a kind, Christianlike environment at ALCA. It couldnt be further from the truth. Gossip, exclusion, lies, and judgment runs rampant in that school.

School board is an uninvolved, out of touch, gossip-driven, over reactive, hypocritical bunch of good old boys put into place by the pastor of the church. Currently, they are in damage control mode and it is very evident to anyone who has been around for a while. I have lost faith in this place since they made the decision to not renew the superintendents contract. Place had potential but board and pastor are ruining it. From day one not impressed with interim guy. He struggles and has no loyalties to the place. Now he is stretched even more thin. Pathetic job by board and church. Too many other good options for education in central Arkansas. Look elsewhere. My family is.

I would rate Abundant Life School as outstanding! Mr. Moseley, Mrs. Hammons and teachers are dedicated to excellence in Christian education. My children have attended here since Kindergarten and are thriving because of ALS. Best education and program in the Sherwood area, hands down.

We have two teenagers at Abundant Life School and we love it. The academics are excellent, mostly Bob Jones and Abekah curriculum including AP classes that are taught by teachers that really care, in an atmosphere that is Christ Centered. The class sizes are just right, the teachers and students get to know each other and my kids have built relationships that will last a lifetime. ALS has numerous sports, plus music, art and drama too (sorry no football yet) if you're interested in those. In the higher grades they really emphasize college prep, and the counselors are excellent at guiding the students to the right classes, and finding scholarships. Compared to other private schools it is reasonably priced. Sure you can go to ACA or one of the other big name private schools and get a sparkling building and huge classes, but you will pay out the nose for it. ALS isnt quite as fancy but our children are getting a more intimate and Christ focused experience at a cost most working class families can afford. Also, note they have a number of discounts for military, veterans, clergy, members of Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church and a few others. I will note that the school had some issues in 2009-2010 with some faculty misconduct. You may find that on Google. The bad actors are gone and those issues are all in the past. My kids have been at ALS since 2014 and weve seen nothing but the best from the faculty and staff!

Every school deals with bullying. Both are on the small side compared to their peers so I would imagine they would be easy targets for a bully, but that hasn't happened.

Classes are fairly small and the teachers are good about giving extra time to students who need it. Advance Placement classes are available and highly encouraged, however Special Ed is very limited. The administration is taking on initiatives to expand Special Ed opportunities at ALS in the near future. Look for ALS to be in the Arkansas Succeed program in 2018.

There was a big turnover in leadership in 2010 after some faculty troubles. The new administration has done wonders to right the ship. Mr. Mosley and the staff are total professionals, they have brought the budget back into the black, improved the academics, made numerous improvements to the facility, and brought the schools focus back to Christ centered education as it should be.

Kids will be kids, but the school goes above and beyond to instill godly character in their students and it shows. Walk through a public school and observe how the kids talk and act, then got to ALS. The difference is night and day.

Throughout our entire elementary school days, ALS was on top! They had excellent staff, great curriculum, awesome classroom management, everything you'd want, but the older my children got, the more the school lacked. I truly don't believe in 4K-3rd grade, my children could've had better teachers. We left because of the switch of curriculum, the partial teachers, & the behavior department. ALS has switched from the Abeka math program to BJU for M&H school. I've always loved how Abeka explained things and how quickly my children could pick up math. I've compared the BJU to AR public school's curriculum and it seems my children and many others are behind. If I am going to pay this much money on education, why would I want my child to be falling behind? It seems as if they put more effort into sports than into education. Don't get me wrong, I loved many of the teachers and my children bonded often with them, but some teachers didn't perform as they could've. I also think they lacked a Christian discipline. Times my son was bullied, nothing was done. I loved the Bible program and how the teachers taught it. Love the elementary, but they should work on their M&H school.

Excellent school providing an excellent, Christ-centered education. My children graduated top of their class and went on to excel in college (one graduated with a 4.0 in honors program, the other is currently tops in his major!). I firmly believe that students get whatever they put into school, and Abundant Life provides all the foundation they need to be successful!
