Front office rude and condescending. People trying to help family out are treated with great disrespect if they make a mistake on the procedures.

Class sizes are incorrect. My child has 23 in her class with one teacher.

My son attended kindergarten in RE Baker and I couldn't be happier with the environment, the strong commitment of all the teachers, the principal and the parents. We are in half of the school year and my son knows how to read and important math concepts, without any extra class. The nurse have been very helpful with us, the cafeteria food is very accessible, the coach for PE is very good to motivate, the music class is so inspirational for my son (we got a piano, thank you teacher hahaha) the Global connection is a very important and interesting class for my son who comes from a multicultural family, Library has good collection of interesting books my son loves and Art class my sons favorite is just amazing. Thank you everybody who helps the kids to go inside the school from our cars. They do not just an excellent labor, but with such enthusiasm and dedication (specially in cold winter) Last I would like to say that the Batch days when they recognize the best kids are the most motivational things I have experienced with my son, that have helped him with his shyness! Thankyou RE Baker!

Great communication between parents, Teachers and Staff. Safe environment, students feels support.

R.E Baker creates a great family atmosphere. The teachers are excellent and truly care about their students. After four years at the school, I can honestly look back with nothing but glowing reports!

From the beginning RE Baker has been a wonderful introduction to school for my child. But more than that, in the many many days I volunteered with various classes I noticed that my Kindergartener wasn't the only one having a great time at school. I was honored to get know Mrs. Sutton the principal, and with grace and patience she answers the call of her school, it's teachers, students, community, and parents. She always looks for ways to make communication more fluid between parents and the staff, to offer new and innovative ways to teach students, to celebrate the accomplishments of her student body, and to keep parents informed and making herself approachable. She listens, and acts. While she's is a newer principal to RE Baker, she has gained to admiration of her staff of teachers, through her respect of them. The teachers of RE Baker (or the 20 or so that I had the pleasure of meeting) are passionate and serious about their role in a child's educational life. I witnessed a lot of fun exciting classes. Whether they're in the Garden Laboratory, or performing science experiments, or creating outstanding art work for displays, the kids are RE Baker are engaged. It is a fun and respectful atmosphere. I know there's a rotten apple in every bunch...but I never saw one incident of a child out of line or showing intense disrespect, or a teacher. This is a safe, academic, fun and supportive environment. And the PTO is out of this world. The parents at RE Baker are wonderful supportive group of dedicated people. RE Baker is blessed with it's parent body, and our kids are blessed to have RE Baker.

We are a very well rounded staff that focuses on one thing: students and their needs. We understand that it takes more than academics for students to thrive. Our school offers authentic experiences, through KAMPAS, field trips, special guests, projects, Genius hour, etc. we collaborate across grade levels and even with Middle School students in order to create optimal learning and mentoring. Baker is supported by community, amazing parents, and innovative administrators. Baker Bobcats ROCK! I am so pleased to be apart of the team!

We joined the RE Baker team in November. My daughter was not having good experiences at her other school and struggled getting her motivated. Since we have been here, she LOVES coming to school, LOVES ALL of the faculty and staff. RE Baker is highly motivated to provide a rigorous level of educational experiences in a highly supportive and positive environment.

I love working at R.E. Baker! Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) are of the upmost importance to the staff and administration. This translates into a great learning experience for the students. Also, the staff and administration are always looking for ways to better serve the students. The collaboration does not stop there. The administration, staff, and parents work together constantly to make sure Baker is the best school it can be. Needless to say, I think R.E. Baker is an amazing school!

Posted: February 3, 2015

I love all of the programs that our school offers that are unique to RE Baker: Baker Gives Back, KAMPAS and the many partnerships with downtown! It's a great place to teach! :)

My children love this school our only complaint is the lack of male role models for the boys. All the teachers are women and the school counselor is a woman. Th girls seem to thrive at this school but there are a lot of boys struggling and I do believe it is because they don't have a positive male influence.

My kids have been at this school and we are happy with it. We came from a school that's motto was "Work hard, play hard" and was a lot of fun. It is a more serious school with very serious Principal and Assistant Principal. All the teachers we have had are great! It is a good school overall.

RE Baker prepares students for the next step (middle school) and provides many unique experiences in the Bentonville Community and beyond. So many of the teachers have been teaching at RE Baker for years. This says a lot about the school and about the teachers. Teachers go above and beyond to organize amazing teaching experiences and are accessible to parents, actually welcoming them into the learning community and classroom! The administration is responsive to parental concerns and pulls the school team together to solve problems. We are thrilled to be part of the RE Baker community.

Baker is a great school. I'm disappointed to see some of these comments regarding the administration. My child was not there under the previous principal, but I understood him to be popular with students and parents. But popularity with the PTO moms is not what is important to my family.Because of its location in central Bentonville and not near the country clubs of Rogers, REB serves a large population of low income students. More than Elm Tree or Central Park (the only elementary schools with a higher rating.) Baker is accountable for these students performance compared to other students (other schools don't have this requirement.) Dr. Kelly was brought in because the school was on "alert" with the state DOE for the performance of these students compared to the rest of the REB students. She and her staff have worked hard to turn this around. My family applauds Dr. Kelly's leadership. I see her in front of the school every morning helping students out of vehicles and welcoming to their school, engaging with students. It's sad that women are critical of Dr. Kelly because she is attractive and accomplished. I'll take achievement and results over popularity with the moms any day.

We love, love, love our school RE Baker! The teachers are amazing! However, the administration is cold and unsupportive unless you are extremely wealthy. My child was having issues in reading but the principal refused to help because she was trying to get the scores up of the ESL and free & reduced lunch students because those scores made her look better. While I definitely support all children getting the help needed, I felt like my child was marginalized because her success did not help the principal get promoted. My daughter still doesn't know the principal's name after 2 years. That says it all! I would still recommend it because of the great teachers!

I was so scared about my oldest staring kindergarten. I have four boys, three of which will all be in this school at the same time. So he was basically testing the waters, so to speak. We are about finished with our first year and so far so good. My next oldest will be starting kindergarten on August first and my oldest in first grade!! This school is amazingly involved with the community. They are not only teaching our children GREAT values they are displaying them as well. I h e always had all of my questions answered and my son is so very happy!! They take the kids to see plays suited to their age and encourage the parents to be involved as much as their hearts desire!! I am one to ask questions concerning anything that I may be concerned about, these are the only children I have and they will only be young once. Education is important to me; a proper and moral, Christian environment where mine and your children are put first is a great feeling. BELIEVE ME, if something goes wrong, we will change schools and you will be the first to know!! :) As of now, I highly reccomend RE Baker Elementary!!

I pray for the other parents whose children with special needs attend this school. I really wanted to like RE Baker. I wanted to believe them when they told me all the things they would do to help my special needs child. It has all been lip service. The principal does not seem interested, the new assistant principal speaks down to parents. I dont think the principal and new assistant principal want to even deal with special needs children because that is extra work. I do like my childs special needs teacher but I think she is overworked and understaffed. A big disappointment to me. I am looking for a school where the staff understands and tries to help those with special needs rather than belittle them. My child needs help and an education

My son has been attending Baker for 3 years now and I am truly amazed at the sincere and professional attitude his teachers have concerning his progress. His Mother and I attend every teacher/parent meeting and the detail in his record keeping is simply awesome!

Posted: April 14, 2011

The administration did change the initial feeling of the school, however, the teachers go ABOVE AND BEYOND to make learning fun, engaging and relavent! This is our 8th year with kids at this school and love it. The year round calendar is a bonus, too!

Posted: January 1, 2011

I loved this school last year but this year its gone downhill! The new principal is not as engaging as the previous principal who we all loved. I felt awful when I heard he was leaving but thought it would be fine ,boy was i wrong. Just by being a pretty face and looking at your nails does not make a good principal! I feel sad I have to write this but its the truth. Terrible shame for our kids.

Posted: November 16, 2010

This school was awesome LAST YEAR! The new administration at the school is very poor. The principal has not made effort to know the kids. The previous principal was above the top awesome, and she could never fill his shoes, but she doesn't even come close. My kids used to LOVE going to school, now they hate it. I'm so sad that the district felt they needed to do this.

Posted: May 18, 2010

They do an amazing jobs of putting kids first; they make learning fun with special events, field trips, and just take a real interest in nurturing children to be proud citizens.

Posted: May 16, 2010

Because they are amazing with kids. Our teachers are the best!!! They truly care for your kids and help them get where they need to be for the next grade!

Posted: May 16, 2010

there are great teachers and my kids love it there

Posted: May 16, 2010

Great teachers and support from Parent Teacher Organization!!!

Posted: May 12, 2010

RE Baker is exceptional from the warmth and friendliness of the administration and staff, to the excitement they give the kids in their learning.

Posted: May 11, 2010

The teachers and staff are great. My daughter loves it there and her younger sister will be starting there this fall! Mr. Young is very involved with the children and keeps the morale up.

Posted: May 11, 2010

I spent two years with the amazing students, staff, and families at Baker. It is an outstanding school. Academics are exceptional yet there is a true family feel at Baker.

Posted: May 10, 2010

I LOVE R.E. Baker! My child is receiving an excellent education in the basics - math, reading, science and social studies. What impresses and pleases me the most about Baker is the way they instill awareness in the kids about treating all people with respect, taking responsibility for the planet and making positive choices. When my child and I go on walks, she collects the litter others have left behind not because I tell her to, but because of the lessons she has learned at Baker. Great Job!

Posted: May 10, 2010

This is an excellent school with great academics as well as teaching the students how to be good citizens.

Posted: May 7, 2010

Wonderful school ~ teachers, parents, and administration all work together for a positive productive environment. The students are highly engaged in the local community and authentic learning.

Posted: May 6, 2010

Baker is always 'what's best for kids' how does it get any better than that. I've been in other schools, but this one is the best!

KAMPAS outdoor field trip 2 X per year Gardening/Woodland Garden/Butterfly Garden International Art Night Project Sale on the Square Track and Field Day Great Teachers!!!! and Staff

Heritage Park Nursing Center was host to approximately 50 students from RE Baker Elementary School. Teacher Teresa Smith, parents and other volunteers upgraded the courtyard for our residents. They were awesome! Students very well behaved. Hope they come again for another visit. They made our residents day! Laughter echoed through the air!

Posted: May 6, 2010

I live working here. Our principals are very supportative. They welcome ideas that will enhance the student's learning. Our children are very caring and hard working. The parent support is fantastic. I love working with these children!!!

Posted: May 6, 2010

I love that our Principal Mr. Young greets the children each morning at the carpool line. He is such an energetic and caring man.

Posted: May 5, 2010

Baker is awesome. Great students, teachers, administration and parents! And the music teacher us excellent :-). Love it here!

Posted: May 4, 2010

This school is amazing. Everyone knows our son and speaks to him. He loves school this year. They are all wonderful.

Posted: May 3, 2010

There has not been a day when Emily has not wanted to go to school. The reception she receives every morning from the staff is warm and gives a sense of home. On the second day of school Mr. Young impressed me when he knew her name! From the hugs, sincere concern, and effort that goes into making every day a great day for every child to making certain that they feel safe and are taken care of. Our school is involved in a lot of programs that nurture and assist others. Our children have freedom to express themselves and are encouraged to do so. They know that making each day great is up to them. They are learning that they have responsibilities and are empowered to make the world truely a better place. I am greatful that RE Baker has given us such a positive first school experience.

Great School - We love it. The staff is wonderful with a great leader.

Posted: May 3, 2010

This is a Awesome school! Mr Young is by far the best leader any school can ask for, his direction ,concern, and interaction with the students is truly encouraging. Personally my kids enjoy going to school everyday . I cant wait till my 3 year old starts school at Baker

Posted: May 3, 2010

R.E. Baker is a wonderful school! The teachers, leadership, and students all work together to make the school a better place to learn. Baker is committed to being litter free and even has an outdoor garden where the vegetables are donated to a local organization.

Posted: May 3, 2010

R.E. Baker is a great school. The staff really cares for the kids. I think it is the best school

Posted: May 3, 2010

This school is awesome! It is all about the students, and teaching them to grow to their best potential! The staff is the best! This past week our school was picked one of 6 schools nationwide for a give to gro program through Scotts Miracle Gro,. We received a 10,000 grant, that will help the continuing effort of teaching students, families, and the community how it is important to give back to the community. Our garden and butterfly garden teaches the students many different things. From Kinders to Fourth graders, this is part of the learning process at our school.

Every person that has come in contact with my son, (teachers, principal, faculty, staff) they have all helped my son through his tough journey. School has been one of his biggest challenges, and they have done everything possible to help him and I through it! We love you all!

Posted: April 28, 2010

Baker is the best! We are so thankful to have our children there.....for more reasons than we can list. Wouldn't want to go anywhere else!

Posted: April 27, 2010

R.E. Baker has an amazing, involved, encouraging staff. My children have never had a teacher that they didn't love. Parents get involved because of the atmosphere created by the administration, and every event is centered on the children and their growth in emotional, physical and intellectual learning. Thanks, R.E. Baker!

Posted: April 26, 2010

VERY child oriented! It is a very motivating, positive environment. Highly recommend.

Posted: April 26, 2010

I love R.E. Baker because my daughter wants to go to school every day. She can't wait to see her teachers and friends. The staff cares about each student and knows them by name. Throughout the year they do so many fun activities. Parents can get involved and the communication is exceptional! Love this school

Posted: April 26, 2010

We love RE Baker because our son is encouraged by all his teachers to explore his interests and questions beyond the required school lessons through extra trips to the library, guest speakers or field trips. The schools involvement in the community is shared with and often led by the students. The staff knows all the children by name. Best of all my son loves to go to school.

Posted: April 25, 2010

After spending many years at other schools with older children, we became accustomed to a very average and often disappointing school experience. Now that our youngest child is at RE Baker, the experience is anything BUT average because of the teacher involvement, parent and PTO involvement, programs offered, and the open-arm and open-heart experience of all faculty and administrators. The best part of all - our child loves going to school again.

Posted: April 25, 2010

Great faculty. Strong partnership with parents. They go above and beyond for the commuinty - and get others involved!

Posted: April 24, 2010

My son is an only child and he is relatively shy. I had the typical trepidation when he entered into grade school, but RE Baker made entering kindergarten a blessing to our family. The teachers and administration know each child by name (and did the first week of school) and show great love and support to each of them. The school atmosphere is warm and encouraging. It is not only the way the children are treated, but the high academic standards they uphold. In three years, my child has not had a bad day at school. The school is best in class and it saddens me when I think of my son growing up and leaving this safe haven we have grown to love.

Posted: April 23, 2010

We relocated to Bentonville two years ago in the middle of the school year - we were welcomed with open arms into an amazing school community. The administration and teachers are top notch. The school is alive with excited, motivated, happy kids. The parent community really gets behind Baker's mission which makes a huge difference. Baker also has many great partnerships with Downtown Bentonville, Walton Arts Center etc. which enhance our children's learning experience. We couldn't be happier with R.E. Baker Elementary!

Posted: April 22, 2010

Everyone works together to make this school the best place to be.

Posted: April 22, 2010

I think the Principal Mr Young if wonderful. My daughter adores him. As a mom, I feel like he knows my daughter personally, as well as each child in his school.

Posted: April 22, 2010

We love the teachers and administration. Principal Young stands outside each morning greeting the kids as they arrive and my son loves seeing him.

Posted: April 22, 2010

My girls love RE Baker. On my younger daughters first day, we get to the school and I'm walking her in and Mr. Young the Principal says 'Good Morning Emily, we are so happy to have you'. My daughter said to me, 'how does he know my name already?' She felt welcomed at that point, and not like a new kid in school. Both my girls are doing WONDERFUL in school. They enjoy going everyday. The staff is easy to talk to. Anybody who ask me what school to choose from, I always say RE Baker. Love it, Love it, Love it!!!!!

Posted: April 22, 2010

Baker has the greatest faculty and staff I have ever experienced. They've known my children and myself by name within the first week of my son's first day of kindergarten. My son is now in third grade while my daughter is in kindergarten and I'm saddened to think about the idea of them growing up and out of Baker Elementary. Baker not only teaches them the basics of elementary educational standards, but grows and encourages them in being active contributors of their community. I feel truly blessed and thankful for my children to have the opportunity to experience Baker Elementary where they are prepared for the greatness 'WE' are raising them to be.

Posted: April 21, 2010

It is the best school, ever! We are known across the state for our parent involvement, dedication to learning life skills, and strong academic learning.

The faculty is what makes our school so special. The teachers and staff truly care about our kids and it shows in everything they do. I feel very lucky to be a part of R.E. Baker's school family. They truly care about my son and work very hard with him and me to make sure that he receives the best possible education, as well as always striving to aid in community efforts and awareness of environmental issues. Go Bobcats!

Posted: April 21, 2010

I truly appreciate all the hard work the principal and the teachers do to invest in our child's life. As a parent I can see the difference in what they are doing. They put a lot of effort and time to give our child the best education possible. I know that I can trust that they will do the right thing with the funds and continue to pour into the school the needed tools to further education.

The teachers are fantastic and care about every child and parent!

The faculty, faculty, faculty! Ms. Hamilton has made my child's kindergarten year a wonderful experience, and my daughter has a positive outlook on learning because of her influence. Mr. Young know all the kids names and greets them all each day. He always has a loving, caring disposition. They also really keep the parents involved, and they do it in a very organized way. I feel very fortunate that my child is beginning her school career at RE Baker!
