If i could I would leave negative stars for this school they don't care if your kids needs help in a type of special needs they will always blame you for you kids being bullied and the principal will not speak to you directly for any matters, this school is not a diverse school also the teaching is pre school when your kid is in kindergarten. I do not suggest your child or children to go here. They really need to fix a lot of things in this school. If your child/children needs glasses to see expect to buy them 4 to 5 pairs of glasses since the never hold up to their end of the deal. If you guys send your child/children to this school good luck to you.

My children's experience at Owl Creek has been great. It's one of the most diverse schools in the area. Everyone has always been welcoming and friendly, and there's a sense of community and belonging at Owl Creek. Mr. Craft has been with Owl Creek for several years. He has been a great leader/principal. My kids respect him due to the kindness and respect he shows the children. Overall I highly recommend Owl Creek (both elementary and middle school) has great teachers with experience who seem to care about my kid's well-being and education!

We have had a wonderful first year at Owl Creek! The teachers are so involved, the PTO hosts the best events, and our kid is excelling socially and educationally here. We were concerned starting public school because he has a sensory processing disorder, but he has been supported every step of the way with his teacher here. Thank you!

i hate this school, first of all, kids break there computers just so they dont have to do work also you can break 5 computers before you have to pay for one witch is stupid if you break 1 computer and get it fixed for free then if you break another one you would have to pay that would be more reasonable. overprised meals are around $4.57 per "meal" and the food iis not even good most of the time it is just bread with cold cheese or pizza sometimes we have so called "dip" witch is just beans, cheese, tomato, corn, lettuse, salsa and ranch mixed together, Nasty! kids ALWAYS are throwing pinciles or chairs. kids talking and yelling in class even when there redrected and it makes it hard to learn. If you get in trouble one time, the teachers pick on you for every little thing you do forever-after. were children! were only in 6th grade and half the school is already in a "Relatonship" If you are bullied then tough luck. kids fighting at reeses and in the bathrooom food fights evrey day i would never wish this on anybody!

My children Owl Creek. The teachers at OC are so positive and caring. They go above and beyond to meet all of the students' needs. There are so many different cultures and countries represented at Owl Creek. It is a very diverse school and they have a wonderful multi cultural festival each year. The staff is so welcoming. It is a beautiful school with many different programs to support students. They love helping students and you can feel it when you walk in the front doors. We love this school!

My children have been with Owl Creek for the last 7 years and we will miss it when its time to move on. The overwhelming support and encouragement the staff gives the students is incredible. You can tell that they are there to make sure every student succeeds. I have not had a bad experience with a teacher yet. They have always been willing to help and give me feedback about my kids. They are also good about responding to email which makes it easy for questions or concerns. The administrative staff and office personnel are also kid focused and very helpful. I have nothing bad to say about the school. We love it here!

We love Owl Creek! The teachers are amazing and treat the students as leaders. They encourage leadership and good behavior. The teachers are great communicators and wonderful educators. They teach the Leader in Me program and are positive influences on the lives of the students, impacting them in the classroom and beyond.

My children are in their sixth and second years at Owl Creek School. The teachers they have had over the years have treated them as leaders. I have been kept well informed about what's going on around campus. I have always had direct communication with the teachers via email. This year my middle school 5th grader is completely independent in her responsibility of her school work and homework. This has occurred a little more each year. She is involved in Quiz Bowl, Student Council, is a Student Ambassador, and volunteers in activities. The school also participates in Geo Bowl, Spelling Bee, STEM activities, Girls on the Run, Soar with the Owls 5k/Fun Run, Fall Festival, Multicultural Week partnership with U of A, and more. This year the 5th graders were able to have an overnight field trip to the Ozark Natural Science Center. Owl Creek school has an atmosphere of inclusion and diversity. We could not be more pleased with the leadership and staff. We look forward to our years here at Owl Creek School.

I can't say how impressed I am with the caring teachers and staff at Owl Creek. I just finished my Parent Teacher Conference with my 1st grade child. The conference was student led and I was amazed how he was tracking his data for reading levels, attendance, behavior, etc. He is also setting goals and working towards meeting his goals. Owl Creek teaches the Leader in Me program and it is truly changing our children's lives in such positive ways. I only wish I had been taught these skills when I was in Elementary school. I love hearing him use the 7 Habits language at home, "I need to be proactive and pack my backpack tonight so I won't forget anything in the morning." Watching my 6 year old take ownership in his own learning and be able to communicate his strengths and goals made me so proud. I am very happy with the instruction and staff at this school.

This school needs some help in the special education area. Not with the resource, speech, hearing impaired, or any of the actual hands on with the teachers/instructors, but with the administration. Since I lack the interaction with the new Principal herself on this matter I will exclude her in hopes that she will eventually handle this concern, but both vice-principals seem to show a lack of understanding. Over all the teachers are great if maybe a little hands tied in the disciplinary area.
There is still a lack of communication from the school, which is truly disheartening with their attempts of digital communication. The issue is that they do not interact with the parents when the communication is needed. If a child is bullying a classmate then both parents should be notified of how the issue is being handled. Often the parent of the child doing the bullying will not be notified. I was informed by a parent about the bully issue, I was never told it was happening. Last year there was a child who committed suicide due to bullying. Many children have resorted to self harm in trying to escape this.
The lack of parent involvement is caused by the over all attitude that no one's opinions count except for a small clique of PTO parents. Who decides who are the officers anyway? Bylaws posted online says a nominating committee but are they people who are not being nominated? Does the principal have a say? Maybe the new principal will have the guts to branch out from the current clique, since unfortunately there are such a small amount of repeat volunteers, and many seem unappreciated. There seems to be two women who seem to help more than others. Both of them should be officers, they at least are known throughout the school. One who is in the office (not sure how I feel about a person who is not an employee having the ability to look at school records, since I once saw her in the file room behind the front desk) and the other does a lot of other stuff (my child calls her the popcorn lady, high flier lady, and I have seen her at many school functions).
The atmosphere of the school seems a little uncomfortable. There needs to be changes made over all and hopefully it has started with a new principal and will continue down towards the employees, and it needs to include the PTO. This school could be amazing if changes were made.

I love Owl Creek!! I have a unique experience with the school. My first child was the inaugural class at the school and it was rough. Over the years the quality of education she has received is great. My second child is in first grade and had health issues. The school was flexible and did not limit him academically. He is currently 1st grade and the can read on a 2nd grade level and they keep challenging him. Owl Creek is a place kids Soar!!

This is our 6th year at Owl Creek. They have been nothing but supportive when it comes to me and my children. I do believe in my experience, they went beyond the call of duty to work with my kids when they done wrong. I get weekly grade reports and the teachers and principals respond to emails and other forms of communication. The only thing I don't like is the CLC , but it's new and hopefully we will all adapt. It really stinks to have kids on different calendars but I feel this school is the best for my kids, that is why we decided to stick out the CLC for the last 3 years we will be here, instead of transferring to the school we actually are suppose to be at. I recommend others to the school..keep up the good work!!!

We are completing our first year at owl creek, and have a 3rd and a 5th grader. I have volunteered in the classrooms and have worked with the school and the counselor to do fundraising for books and school supplies. The staff seems very happy overall, and there are really good teachers that our kids really love. I think there may be a few teachers who just don't want to be here, but the majority seem to really like the administration and work well together. There are a couple of PTO moms who are very difficult and have caused people to stop volunteering out of frustration. I am really surprised by the remark about the discord over the continuous learning calendar. The parents and teachers I have talked to are excited about the new calendar. I haven't heard anything but positives about that. We recommend Owl Creek to other families. We find the staff to be innovative and creative, and the children feel that they are an important & active part of their school. When we have had questions, the teachers and administration have been helpful and worked with us. I would like to see another bicycle rack out front.

There is a place for everyone at Owl Creek, and we love the diversity that our children take for granted--they have friends from all over the world. The teachers are terrific, and they really care about the students (even coming to soccer games to cheer my daughter on)! I have found all of the staff to be very helpful. We love our school!!

Owl Creek struggles with leadership issues. The teachers seem intimidated by the Principal and her other administrators; a lot of unspoken communication is shared during meetings between staff members and parents. What are we supposed to think? Meetings with the administrators are unproductive and very frustrating. Open choice means LOOK elsewhere and hope you can get a transfer! Owl Creek seems to cater to just a few people, we must not have been the right ones...

The staff at this school is very unprofessional. If your child gets in trouble one time, they pick on that child for every little thing they do forever-after. They're children! They are NOT going to just sit in their chairs like little miniature adults all the time. The teachers use in-school suspension as much as the old "go sit in the hall trick". You would think anything with the word "suspension" attached to it would be a big deal. Apparently its not anymore. The school lunches are NO good. Our kids would rather go hungry than buy a lunch. On top of that you could eat McDonalds for the amount of one of the overpriced lunches. The teachers dont teach- we end up spending hours at home on homework. Ive never heard of a school having so many substitutes in a school year! If your kids are having trouble on a subject in class? You wont find out until you receive their report card with a note from the teacher saying that assignments are missing. Not homework assignments either, CLASSROOM assignments. Im sorry, but if my child is not turning in their assignments during class and it has caused them to have a failing grade I feel I should have been notified before they actually failed.

My kids love their teachers and their school! We also enjoy the Healthy Cooking classes and the Zumba and sports nights as a family. My older daughter is in GT, and I see both of my children excited about learning and school everyday. We appreciate the strong academics and the diverse student body, and we are really looking forward to the International Festival again this year. Owl Creek helps our children see world cultures everyday!

This school is a joke! Most of the adults that work here are very rude and once your child has been punished for another childs wrongdoing they are singled out by the staff. If your child is bullied then tough luck. If you care at all about your children DO NOT send them to this school.

This is the best school in Fayetteville! My child has been at Owl Creek for the last three years--the teachers are amazing and are really willing to go the extra mile, and the principal really cares about the students. Lots of chances for families to get involved, and they have phenomenal clubs and activities for students, including Strings, Lego League, Drama, and Gardening. The rating on this page does not do this school justice. I can't wait for my younger son to start Kindergarten next year!

They have some of the worst teachers I have ever seen since my girls have been in school. This school is very disorganized and fails to tell parents about school events in advance. Teachers do not answer emails or notes sent from home. Office staff is very rude when answering the phone and when face to face. Teachers fail to communicate about student's progress until the last minute. Teachers also give questionable grades. Just an overall bad school with failing test scores, if you value your child education do not send them here.

My 5th grader is currently begging me to change schools! Why you ask? Because the teacher she has is often rude to the children that go off to G.T! The principal when my child was teased about her gender was basically told to suck it up! Plus field trips are hardly ever there! Also academics are way off! When she went from a Springdale school to here she was surprised by her spelling list. She went from learning how to spell 'honeybee' and 'Arkansas' to 'boat' and 'see'. What the heck! Often the children are cruel and mean. ALL the girls think they need makeup and boyfriends. THEIR IN 5TH GRADE FOR HEAVEN SAKES! the cliques are already formed. Once my daughter over heard an inappropriate joke from the 'cool' clique. God DON"T SEND YOUR KID HERE! Plus after their old music teacher nobody can teach here. My kid knows more about the Civil War than her teacher does. Stupid.
