JLCS Main is a wonderful school in Jacksonville that provides families a great free public option for an elementary school.

Terrible school my daughter has been bullied since school started. The principal on down to the teachers are horrible you have teachers there that don't care about the kids just there to get a check. The kids run the school it's really sad there's no discipline in the school. I wouldn't recommend this school at all they need to close this school down

We love Lighthouse Charter! The teachers are excellent and our children have excelled. At their previous school they were not being challenged and were bored. Here, students are pushed when they excel so that they are not held back. Other students who are having difficulties are helped by teachers (homeroom and specialized) so that they are not overlooked. Each student is helped to their ability. The school also has a great, fun, healthy atmosphere that makes the students comfortable and encouraged to learn.

The teachers really work to help the students understand the work and there are opportunities to complete the work while at school so that teachers are available to help instead of having to be frustrated at home trying to complete it.

Posted: June 12, 2019

Student test scores and overall achievement show that the efforts that the teachers are making have been successful in getting the students to learn and grow.

The culture at the school is closely monitored by the teachers, administration, and culture coordinator. They have programs for students and their parents to grow character not only through the school, but at home as well. They focus on character strengths throughout the school year and at weekly school meetings where characteristics are praised and taught.

Bullying is not tolerated at this school and the teachers, administration, and culture coordinator work to encourage the students to be accepting and kind to all students.

It sucks the teachers and kids are bullies and they let the kids do what ever that wont nd the administration only talks to the kids and will not Disciplinethe kids they just send them back to class sothekids just keep doing the same thing because there is no Consequences for there actions this school really should look at just shutting its doors until they can do the job that they are getting paid for witch is educating kids

The do not have the resources to help kids with learning disabilities. Teacher turnover rate is high. They let good teachers go who really care about the students. They are not preparing the kids for the next grade level. I pulled my child from this school year after the change over in administration and things did not improve. They have no technology for the kids. Teachers work long hours and still don't get the help they need from administration. Behavior is a problem.

The other reviews for this elementary sound scripted. Read the reviews for the Jacksonville lighthouse middle school and you will get a clear picture for this elementary. Since grades are K-6, you can apply those reviews to this school.
What you need to do before you enroll your child: Ask about the programs on their website. Nearly all are made up as far as I can tell. Ask how students borrow books from a library with no computers or catalog system? Ask what equipment they have for gym. Ask about teacher turnover rate. Ask about ONE restroom for post-puberty kids and little kids to share. Ask about student teacher ratio. Student behavior is so terrible because they're aren't held accountable. They made it impossible to learn. There are great teachers here who end up leaving because of lack support with discipline. Kids are so disrespectful and get away with it. It sets a bad example for all the students. Also, kids who can't read or comprehend simple math are consistently passed. I've never heard of anyone who repeated a grade even when it's obvious they should. Those kids who know nothing and easily get to high school will have a shock when they realize the content is completely over their head. At first I didn't believe all the stuff my child told me. Then I finally started investigating and now I know she was right.
DON'T ENROLL YOUR CHILD. IF YOURE CONSIDERING IT, ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS. ASK SPECIFIC QUESTIONS. YOU'LL SOON KNOW HOW BAD IT IS. IT TOOK ME YEARS TO REALIZE THIS. LET MY BAD DECISION BE YOUR WARNING.

This school is great. My son has been there for 3 years and has excelled. My daughter is in her first year with an amazing teacher. The principal is great as is the front office.

I love this school! They are preparing my child academically as well as socially. Lighthouse has taught her that everyday is a new opportunity to learn. So she faces each day with expectancy.

This is a great school with a great staff. All campuses have great programs. The school is growing each year by expanding the extracurricular programs and with course offerings. We are fortunate to have this school in our community.
