I have had children going to Prairie Grove school since 2008. It is way different, I understand that security measures have to be taken in the world we live in however the district itself is taken it to an extreme. It is no longer family or parent friendly. The staff treats you like you were an inconvenience and like theyre scared to even talk to you. The schools around like prisons quite literally its not an environment. I want my children in so thats why after 18 years of having kids in the Prairie Grove school district I am pulling my children out. They will go to a smaller school that is family oriented in that cares about parents and families being involved. The district snow bullying policy is not withheld. It is actually very lax and they have police officers that are not welcoming and not friendly to the children in particular officer Rollins he is very hotheaded and he bullies kids and yes, its the typical small school district where the teachers and staffings kids get different rules of regulations compared to the regular students. The only positive thing I can say about the district is they have an excellent special ed program and that is it.

Contant chaos, tension, and every little thing is miserable in this school district. At some over the last several years the leadership for this district went down a path that has made everything about sending your kids to the schools in this district miserable. Unfortunately, despite changes in administrators and trying lots of new things like communication apps and tons of other changes, it doesn't seem to have improve our kid's environment. The biggest sign of the bad school environment is the huge number of teachers and staff that have left over the past few years which seems like it replaces seasoned teachers with recently graduated teachers who are still figuring things out as an educator.
The areas that have been the worst for our kids in their last few years have been stability/ consistent routine, calm atmosphere, positive working environment for students and teachers, students with disabilities feeling like a burden to the schools, and tension that causes our kids anxiety daily. Bullying is a whole other major problem, but it usually isn't addressed as a problem being resolved as a whole because of how much of the regular day-to-day stuff is a much bigger daily problem. The experience has been like everyday everybody is focused on putting out fires, and the staff is working to survive the day or week, and they have been doing that for years and years now.

This is the most racially discriminatory and racially profiling school I have seen in 2025! My mixed granddaughter went from an Honor student now struggling to maintain her grades, due to the racial conflicts that occurred and the administration, which is 95% WHITE, seems to show favoritism to the white kids over those of color! In 2025 this is a real slap in the face for the USA!
NEVER send your mixed child into this school unless you want them to be profiled and discriminated against!

If academics ever did take a backseat to sports, it is no longer the case. The high school has become a force to be reckoned with academically. The AP programs is English, math, science, and social studies have grown with the AIMS initiative in recent years. More students are enrolling in the AP program, and more are succeeding on the AP exams. There has been a considerable shift towards a culture of learning. Rigorous instruction in composition by college board certified instructors and a newly formed 4-year engineering program, complete with dedicated teachers and state-of-the-art equipment are a couple indications of the growth of this school. PGHS is also academically ranked 16 in the state of Arkansas. Couple these factors with a student body who is learning to value community and achievement, teachers concerned with character as well as academics, a supportive administration intent on growing in leadership and effectiveness, a band and FFA program competitive on the state level, and, yes, a top-notch sports program, and you have a school, not a perfect one, mind you, but a quality one, where a student will find a positive and fulfilling academic and social experience.

Very bad problem with bullies that the school will not admit. They turn the other cheek so the school won't look bad. After several years in PG, I finally realized that this is not the best area/school system for my children. There are some really good teachers, but some really, really bad ones there as well. We once sat through a parent teacher conference and the algebra teacher played with his phone the WHOLE time! It was crazy! If you plan on moving into this district, talk to others that have tried to blend in within the community. Get informed. There are much better schools in this area. Just not enough care and concern for the students at PG. It's very sad.

I graduated from Prairie Grove High School last year, as part of the Class of 2009. The Prairie Grove High School is a school that has a strong tradition in the sports area, with our football team making the playoff for 14 years and counting. And currently, the girls basketball team is the runnings to play in the State title game. So, if your child has an interest in sports, this school is a good match. If your student is interested in music, this school has very well recognized marching band program led by two wonderful band directors. The high school band program marches about 60, and expects to march around 90 next year. They sound Awesome. If your child likes agriculture, then our schools FFA program is the best. They regularly win competitions across NWA. The Teachers, with a few exceptions are really cool, as is the new Administration.
