I highly recommend Gale! My daughter went to Gale from kindergarten to 3rd grade and we always felt supported and welcome! We had to move to a different state and to this day miss Gale and wish we could have taken the school with us!

The moment I toured this school, I knew it was the school for my girls! We bought in the neighborhood and have been so blessed to call this neighborhood school ours. The teachers are exceptional. They are fabulous with instruction, communication, and community building! I am so glad that we found this school! Go for a tour and see for yourself!

This school is exceptional! Both years that my child (1st grade) has attended, he has had such awesome Teachers! The Principal is wonderful, the staff is awesome, the other teachers all seem to really enjoy being there and all of them really make an effort with their students and the community. Gale is always organizing fun, safe, and welcoming events for the families. They really engage with the students and community and it is such a positive atmosphere that emphasizes kindness and respect and they celebrate the students for it. I feel very confident that my child is safe at this school and will thrive, not only academically but emotionally as well. I really am happy that we chose this school and I truly couldn't love it more! Did I mention that our little boy absolutely loves his school too? Well, he does, he comes home happy as a little bee in spring every day!

Granddaughter in kindergarten. Both verbally and physically bullied. Send emails and phone calls. Told it is hard to discipline young ones. How about call the parents for a conference. All years no help.

The school is always focusing on a new Tiger Trait which includes all of the above. All teachers always demonstrate these to the students, and they do genuinely learn how to apply them themselves with time. Students are also randomly rewarded when doing good deeds such as picking up a random wrapper to throw away off the floor. Small things to encourage good behavior & build good character overall.

The principal and administration staff are so personable, and always available to talk. They will know you by name, and the principal truly goes out of her way to improve the school continuously.

There are resources and support available for learning differences
Posted: November 12, 2020
Bullying is never tolerated. I volunteered for a full year weekly in the classroom, & any type of rude behavior whether it be verbal or physical will get addressed promptly.

10/10. Gale has exceeded all expectations & gone above & beyond for all their students. All of the staff is very kind & courteous.
Posted: November 12, 2020
Homework has always been realistic for the age group, and has never felt over bearing. Its small amounts daily to keep them learning more, but not long enough to get frustrated or become bored

This is our second year at Gale, and both teachers have completely exceeded any expectations I had. They are truly amazing, & genuinely care for the students. The other teachers weve met have also always displayed the same upbeat & approachable attitude.

Just terrible Ill be switching my kids school but not before telling the world to beware . In Tucson you have multiple options you dont have to settle for a school that is unsupportive with terrible administrators. Your kids deserve better
Posted: October 29, 2020
Puts everything on parents . They do the easier work in class and homework is too hard . No special accommodations for kids with special needs
Posted: October 29, 2020
They do not have an effective inclusion model . Only one special education teacher for whole school so kids get no support with special needs
Posted: October 29, 2020
They can care less about the kids , period
Posted: October 29, 2020
Seriously gale has the worst principal and administration Ive ever seen and Im in the education field . Thats a bold statement
Posted: October 29, 2020
They do nothing for kids with special needs !! They dont adhere to ieps, they dont have an effective inclusion classroom and have no accommodations. I had to fight for them and the more I fought the more they took away until he had no support . Like punishment

I disagree because the admin are bullies .

We love Gale! Before my daughter started Kindergarten, I meticulously researched 15 schools (a bit excessive, maybe) and toured my top 5 schools. I picked Gale because of: the teachers, the active parental involvement, and the overall "feel" of the school. Gale is a very caring and nurturing community. Gale participates in the Ben's Bells Be Kind program, which teaches children many positive character-building traits. This program is wonderful. Overall, I am impressed by the high quality, holistic, well-rounded education my daughter has received at Gale.

I am impressed by everything the teachers do at Gale! Not only do they teach the curriculum (and do it very well!), but they're also good at developing character in children. They are very involved and participate in school fundraisers and activities.

My daughter is in kindergarten, so I can only speak for that grade. She receives a packet of around 4 pages to complete over the course of a week, plus a reading log (students are encouraged to read at least 10 minutes per day). This works out to 5-10 minutes of homework per day (plus reading), which I think is pretty developmentally appropriate. I was resistant to homework in Kindergarten, but my daughter actually loves doing activity pages, so I'm ok with it.

Yes, absolutely! There is a strong focus on the Ben's Bells Be Kind program, which teaches many positive character-building traits. Each week the entire school focuses on a specific "Tiger Trait" (including honesty, integrity, and fairness, among others). The school counselor visits the classrooms to teach a lesson and read a story about that week's trait. The teachers select a student from each class to receive the "Kindness Coin" that week. Every Friday they have a school-wide assembly in which that weeks' winners are recognized and are given a certificate (which states what the student did that embodies that weeks' Tiger Trait). Furthermore, every day on morning announcements they recognize someone from the school (a teacher, volunteer, support staff, etc) who demonstrated a Tiger Trait.

I believe the principal showed this at all times. Not always so in the teachers.

A few not so good teachers can make it a bad experience for a lifetime for a child. I understand there are situations that are difficult but the teachers should be trained to handle them so as not to affect other students as well. Do you use corporal punishment or teaching and training our children? Do you treat the child as you would like to be treated? Respect is earned and teachers are included...not just the child. Yelling and degrading a child is not a manner of teaching and redirecting....tell them how they may have handled a situation and not just call a name such as "tattle-tale", etc. Name calling even for teachers is not acceptable! Now he or she is afraid to talk about a bullying situation.

Unfortunately too many teachers have a punishment, embarrassment, negative attitude towards many students. I experienced this on a field trip and directly from some teachers. I don't understand that this is about redirecting and positive teaching! Treat the children in a pleasant manner as you expect to be treated. Don't be demeaning! Respect gains respect including to the parents.
With M. Ingle gone I choose to take my child out of this school. She was so helpful, always had time and spoke to the children in a teaching and positive manner!

We have attended Gale since kindergarten and my child is in 3rd grade. it has had its up and downs this year with principal change, fundraisers changed, etc. My daughter is happy for the most part but the lack of communication, notice given, and follow up frustrates me. It has slowly gotten better throughout the year but there is still progress to be made. Most of the teachers are wonderful for the lack of resources they have. We have had great teachers over the years, this year was a bit of a let down. The PTC board seems to be their own click, have their own agenda and does not do what benefits the school as a whole, just the select amount of them. I was told by one board member, if htey are the ones doing the volunteering, then it should be what is best for them, "as they do the most for the school". Many parents, because of the mentality of this board, have chosen to not be active with events and fundraisers, but just as volunteers in class rooms and field trips. The overall attitude of the school has changed, not for the better. This is our home school and we will stick with it, but hoping for positive changes to come!

My grandson goes to pre- school at Gale. I was impressed with the new student/parent orientation and how attention there was. My grandson looks forward to school each day and is proud of his take home work. He was developmently behind but I see great strides and improvments. He still has a way to go but I confident he'll be ready for what lies ahead.

Gale elemtary is an excellent school. The new principal was given a lot of change without much notice. She has risen to the occasion and introduced the OMA program and has hired a new PE teacher. The teachers are outstanding and offer an excellent education.

Gale Elementary is absolutely wonderful!! I am so pleased with the new administration, teachers and facility! I really enjoy the new principal and look forward to seeing what the year will bring. Both my children wake up every morning extremely excited to be going to school and wonder why they are unable to go every day, including weekends!! I As a parent, my ONLY concern is my children's happiness and if they enjoy learning! Gale has provided the love of learning to my children in a very special way!

Gale is an amazing environment for our daughter - she loves it, and we couldn't be happier. Stellar leadership and faculty, wonderful programs (thanks to the Parent-Teacher Club) and a beautiful facility.

I love Gale!!! This is my daughters 3rd year at Gale. The teachers and the principal are very involved. The PTC is great and everyone works hard to provide a great learning environment. You can be as involved as a parent as you would like and all the teachers I have had so far have an open door policy and encourage the involvement of the parents. I am glad my daughter attends gale and I wish I would have know about Gale when my oldest daughter was in elementary.

We are so impressed so far with Gale! My son is in Kinder with Ms Schlak and loves her so much! The principle is awesome too. She will answer any and all questions you have and will respond promptly to emails. It is amazing that this school is able to function as well as it does with the madness that is TUSD. The parent involvement is also high at this school. I have high hopes that my son will continue to do well in this high expectations/excelling school!
