AmeriSchools is absolutely Amazing! The teachers and principal Beatriz are passionate about seeing their students succeed. They are so great about sharing moments of pride when they see your child good behaviors and achievements; and they know the importance of getting the parents involved should an issue arise, and do it in a very respectful, approachable manner.

I love the AmeriSchools team and our administrators that provides to every child needs with great care!

Hello, my name is Mr. Lewis and I teach 5th grade at Amerischools on 1150 N Countryclub, Tucson Arizona. I've been teaching at Amerischools for 7 years and love it more and more every year.

I would just like to say how thankful I am to be able to work with such an amazing staff, parents and students. Amerischool is like a breath of fresh air. It's not the "Same old same old" you are part of a family at Amerischools. They're many generations that have gone through this school and parents continue bringing family member after family member. At Amerischools you don't have to try and fit in, we welcome you home.

My daughter and myself can only say good things about this school. I felt confident in my daughters progress and relationships at school. The size of this school is perfect because it allows the teachers to really work with their students.

I am an alumni of Amerischools Academy and I can honestly say that the lessons I have learned from my experience growing up there stuck with me when I entered, and continue to go through highschool.

The elementary school curriculum is great. We would use games, narratives, and projects to learn academic, community building, and leadership skills. The small school and class sizes means that you are not just a number, but a student with strengths and weaknesses that your teacher is there to work with.

Middle school at Amerischools certainly had its ups and downs, but the honesty and open discussion between the students and staff made it so that there were no secrets. We would have group discussions on the issues that faced our class academically, socially, and personally. Our curriculum was focused around real world current events, whether it was elections and rhetoric in English or climate change in Science, we were learning things that matter. Our elective (or Specials) classes gave us an opportunity to explore our interests and get out of our comfort zones, as well as our after school clubs. I also had the opportunity to take Algebra 1 in 8th grade, something that most middle schools dont offer, which now puts in me in a highschool math class a year above my grade.

Amerischools Academy certainly isnt for everyone. But if you want your child to have an interdisciplinary education where the staff actually values the students, look nowhere else.

Overall experience
Horrible. The teachers don't take time to teach the lesson if the child is having difficulty and there's no tutoring. You either catch on or you don't. A teacher cursed at my son and another reminds the class everyday how much she doesn't want to be there, all her personal relationship problems and how she has to take Xanax just to tolerate them. The new principal Mr bravo used to be a teacher there so coming to him with any complaints he just blames the student and not the teacher. Hes very arrogant and inexperienced. Too much favoritism at this school.

I love how Amerischools helps my child develop a healthy growth mindset. As this school year has progressed I have seen my child take on challenges with a better attitude than they have shown in the past.

If you're looking for a school that you can truly partner with to grow your child look no further. I have found the leadership and staff to be highly motivated and knowledgeable, the atmosphere to be positive and encouraging, and most importantly my children love their school. They deserve their A rating!

In response to the previous parent review- I have seen teachers who are highly invested in their students, working solely with student achievement in mind. In fact, the school went from a C rated school to an A in this last year. That was due to teachers, the principal and the rest of the staff working with the kids and challenging them academically and intellectually. You point out that teachers did not identify a learning disability. To clarify, are you saying your child had a learning disability you were aware of but tested the teachers to see if they'd catch it? In response to the CPS report, your child was abused and instead of reporting it, you relied on teachers to do it? I do see your point in supervision as that has been an issue in the past, but near the end of the year the school was working to remedy it. On several occasions at the end of the day I saw several teachers on the playground watching the students. In my experience the teachers and principal advocate for the child. AmeriSchools elementary is a positive environment for the child as a whole (academically, socially, emotionally).

I wish I had known about this site before we chose Amerischools. Please beware..... "free tuition". You get what you pay for applies here!! Teachers demonstrated lack of knowledge in identifying learning disability. Principal is great at 'being one of the kids", but lacks professional depth in dealing with leadership and interpersonal skills. Lot's of smiles... very little to no follow through on concerns expressed by parents. Teacher failed to recognize a CPS reportable injury. When questioned about it... acted as if they didn't know they were mandatory reporters. Insufficient ratio of adults to students to provide sufficient supervision when children are outside. Staff that have no qualms about pushing their own agendas and beliefs in child rearing. Look elsewhere if you want your children to succeed.

My children have attended AmeriSchools Academy for five years and I have seen this school get better each year. The environment is safe and the academics are at a good level. My children and I like the activities for families like movie night and the talent show. AmeriSchools has truly been a great school for my family!

AmeriSchools is a school that is extremely child-centered. They look at the needs of each individual student and address their individual needs using research-based instruction. Staff members take the time to get to know their students and their families which creates a "family atmosphere" and promotes a "community of learners". Beyond a doubt, the Country Club school community goes above and beyond; always trying to provide quality opportunities for students to participate and succeed in educational and extracurricular activities. In a nutshell, "We are Family!"

This is an honest review , I have said this to the school on several occasions and they did not want to hear that a student or parent was not happy, they seem to want to surpress that and only put forth a shiny coin instead of admitting they need some polishing. we moved from this school for this exact reason and even my student was happy to be learning and realized how much he did not know. We actually held him back a year upon moving to the new school since he also was a straight A student with no skills to move on to the next grade.

The primary level classes at AmeriSchools are great - they are very child centered. Unfortunately the academic program, as children move through middle school is not very strong. My grandchild, who looked like an "A" student on his report card - had much lower AIMS scores than expected and we found he was not prepared for and is struggling in 9th grade. That has been very difficult for him because at AmeriSchools he was always "one of the best". The same for many of his classmates. There have been many staffing changes over the past two years at this school - I hope it improves. They may be very nice people, but it is not a strong academic program.

When I was looking to move my son out of public school and into a more conducive learning environment I turned to Amerischools after a rather lengthy process of looking and comparing seat-based charter schools. I don't think there are any words to describe how wonderful the staff has been, how involved they are and how pro-active they are when it comes to the children receiving the supports they need to succeed. I watched my child, who was failing in public school, bloom into an excellent student who made friends and blossomed in the learning environment. It may be a small campus but the teachers and administrators know each of the children, care honestly about them and rejoice in each and every accomplishment. I can't recommend it enough.

My child will not be going to this school in the fall. There were repeated bullying episodes that were not adequately dealt with by the principal. If the school is understaffed at recess and lunch-time, why not put a call out for volunteers? But the principal did not seem to be interested in finding a solution to an ongoing problem.

I love this school.. my daughter had been in this school for two years now and I am very impressed with her development. The teachers are so focused with their student's progress and they make it a point that parents are involved as well. They have a really good principal who shows leadership and good interaction with his students and their parents. The organizes a lot of activities that helps the children not only academically but also improve their self-confidence as well as encourage family bonding...

I have had more than one child at this school for several years, from kinder on up. Everything depends on the teachers interaction with the students. The elemantary grades are great and most likely one of the best around. The upper grades however,have much to be desired. There are teachers at this level that are not fit to be in a classroom with children. They really do seem like a group that could not make it in the mainstream so they ended up here. I can only guess that in a school with a better administration the teachers would not be allowed to behave in the manner they do.

Amerischools has been a great school for my child. I am able to volunteer in my child's classroom frequently so I see how this school functions. The teachers and principal here are friendly and are always smiling. You can tell that the students like to be at school. I am very happy with my child's (and my own) experience at Amerischools.

Words cant express how pleased I have been with my childs experience at amerischools. This year is my childs third year at this school and he has thrived both academically and socially. Every teacher my child has had has gone above and beyond to make sure he is succeeding (modify homework, tutor before and after school, communicate with me regularly). The new leadership this year has been outstanding. I knew Mr. Krause as a great teacher at amerischools and he has done a wonderful job as principal this year. Over the past three years amerischools has added many sports and clubs for students to participate in. You can tell that the school is moving in the right direction!

I have just removed my child from this school. The new principal did not seem concerned at all about the welfare of my child, who had been at this school for three years as a high achiever and A student. This year she got a new teacher and was failed in her favorite subject. This is a student that was given a course assignment in the next grade up due to her achievements. A student who got a 97% in math and a 98% in reading nationally on AIMS. The prior trimester this student got all A s taking grade level courses that was one year advance of the child s official grade. Only when the teacher was changed did her grade drop. By a teacher that did not communicate any situation to the child s mother. even though the mother was there volunteering every week. And when I felt I must redraw my child from this school, the principal could care less. It seems the level of teachers being brought in are not at previous levels, but the children will pay the price.

I completely DISAGREE with the 2 last reviewers. The principal is superb and cares deeply about the success of each and every child there. The teachers are very dedicated and kind. The best thing about this school is the fact that they treat and speak respectfully to everyone there INCLUDING children. I did not have that experience in TUSD. My son's academic performance has increased three-fold. To that I say thanks AmeriSchools. YOU ROCK!

If I could give this school a zero, I would. Granted there are good teachers in every school, but they get out shined by their inability to challenge students. I guess this school would be alright if you want your kids to go to daycare all day. barely better than TUSD. look elsewhere.
