the school is nothing close to being described as hell, unless you wanna be extra. administrators are polite, and sometimes understanding. students most mind their business, unless if you mess with them, or make any negative remarks.
they do make racial, homophobic, all of the above jokes.. but what kid doesnt nowadays?
im sure youve made some yourself, shouldnt be that big of a bother. though, as an ex-SUN student, and someone whose in honors, the learning is extremely simple and smooth. pay attention to one lesson, and youll understand for the rest of the quarter. a plus is they are more than understanding in assignments. from my experience, as you get older, the more infrequent homework gets. the school is also opened to students trying new things, very supportive. just from 5th to 7th Ive been learning alto saxophone, clarinet, and electric guitar... thanks to Mr. Wagner.
cant really think of anything else to point out, or just really dont wanna type anymore.. Im satisfied with my experience here.

I'm an ex-SUN kid soon to promote. My experience at this school over the last few years has been hell, mostly due to the kids but partially due to the administration. The kids are so terrible, racist, ablest, and homophobic yet the school does nothing about it. The children never get disciplined for things they do wrong. The school enforces dress code more than discipline, and in fact punishes teachers that yell at students. One of my favorite teachers, one that made me feel safe in this school quit mid year because of how terrible the kids were. These children have genuinely raised my blood pressure significantly enough for my nana to have me stay home (with no prior issues). The kids have no respect. There are many kids who don't read at the level they're supposed to, and go without getting support for it, a lot of these kids have been going to this school since they where in kindergarten. There is a bit of a teacher and sub shortage, since my teacher quit midyear we always had to have a sub come in, or if unavailable we must go to another class. We haven't had work in that class for months, they also lowered our grade for work we did but they didn't get to see. I have seen male students getting sexually harassed by other students and I have as well as a female student. Attendance is terrible here overall. I have missed a lot of school for many different reasons, some being health related, a lot being how fed up I am with hearing some sort of sexual remark being made in the halls, being degraded for the fact i'm overweight. Or just generally seeing something that seethes me to the core. The school had a shooting threat and didn't tell anybody. Kids started finding out mid day and leaving in the middle of class to go home because they where scared. They never mentioned that it was fine or anything, that they had solved the issue. The younger kids where crying, the office was chaos, and by the time I got out since I didn't leave early there where hardly any kids left. This school has an obvious issue with communication, they didn't even tell the teachers specifically what had happened so kids where going up to teachers, terrified and the teachers had no idea what was going on and where probably also terrified. My nana says she regrets sending me to this school. Hell, I regret not leaving this school sooner, I was always begging too but then I realized SUN and a fine arts school would look good when looking for a college. Please, never send your kid here.

Good, the teachers are mostly nice and it's very easy to learn over there. The community knows eachother and there arent bullies (not that I know of and ive been there 4 years)
