If you have a child with any special needs small or large, do not send your child to this school. It has been an absolute nightmare for my child and my family. I have advocated for my son for years to get the proper treatment from staff and unfortunately they simply do not care. They blow off parent concerns, don’t take accountability for their mismanagement, and quite frankly seem to discriminate against a child who doesn’t excel academically and socially. My child has suffered physical, emotional abuse as well as neglect. It’s really sad for these children. I’m not the only parent who feels this way. There are dozens of us who have been vocal about it and get brushed aside until we remove our child. Maybe that’s what they ultimately aim for.

Surprised to see such a low score. This school is amazing. My child is in their 3rd year at Ysabel Barnett Elementary, and everyone we've interacted with from the Principal, to the Administrators, and my child's 3 teachers have all been wonderful. They also have an entire staff dedicated to the special needs children and work to integrate them into school plays when possible. We've had a great experience here and would highly recommend it to other families considering where to send their children. Thanks.

We enrolled our youngest daughter who is non-verbal autistic after being transferred from Alamos, which we loved.

During the Covid Pandemic, we were trying to do virtual learning and forcing our daughter to sit in front of a computer screen just to watch Youtube Videos. Eventually, when we came back to class for a few hours a week, we realized that our daughter was not learning anything at school. Our daughter was bringing home ripped-out coloring pages (from the dollar tree), which had colorings that were obviously not hers.

Would not recommend this school to anyone. We removed her from attending this school.

The IEP meeting at the end of the year with leadership blew my mind. Such a wonderful, supportive, and caring group of people.

My son's teachers were amazing at finding ways to effectively support my son, who is on the Autism Spectrum, and allowed him to flourish.

I am not aware of any bullying, so can't speak to how the school handles it.

Absolutely amazing. We transferred from another school near the end of the school year and it was night and day. Everything from the campus, to the activities, and finally the teachers and administration, are top-notch. So excited to be a part of the Barnett family, and for my children's future.

My son started school at Ysabel Barnett last year and struggled in math. The school offered an early morning tutoring class for which my son was given the opportunity to join. The class was a blessing as I have seen the improvements each night we work on math at home. This year he is doing better and he loves his school. The teachers, the principal and vice principal are great! The office staff is great too! Thank you Ysabel for helping me to help my son in math.

The staff at Ysabel Barnett are great. We moved here in January and our daughter was very behind in curriculum. After just a few months she has jumped 3 reading levels and is up to speed with the rest of the class. We are extremely happy with BES and plan on our daughter attending the rest of elementary here. If you are planning to move to the area, I highly recommend it. We love it here.
