If your child is behind due to COVID and had trouble before that don't put your child in this school because they will just push them through and if they are late on assignments due to not knowing how and you trying to get them more help if they get insufficient progress due to them knowing that they don't know how what they're doing because they're not at great level they will kick you out and just expect you to find somewhere else to Go and tell you this kind of program as not For You but won't Help you Go to a new program MIMA old teacher helper and they give way more homework than any school I've ever worked with

I recently attended Springs Charter school. What I can say of this school is it’s just like a public school. In charter schools they have programs for anybody to join. Usually they will have up to 20 kids maybe even 30 I’m not so sure. But on my first day of school I was splendid at first, but then I wasn’t smiling anymore. I realized they are just like people from public schools and some of them were not. I tried to get over it with me, not even me making any friends and just doing the work. At lunch it was even more frustrating because I had to find a table to sit at and once I found one I tasted the food and it tasted like something more different. Usually the chicken and macaroni. Then whenever I got a drink from the fountain it tasted like metal. So everyday at lunch I would just get milk. When I was doing a wrong task in class, nobody told me what to do and they would not talk to me however I was able to do computer work by myself. Mainly the boys would interrupt the class and make it hard for the teacher, and it would happen every day. This caused me to not like the class and I was disappointed. Also in charter schools they do not pick up the phone. The good thing about the schools is that you get to do work independently, but you have to sit with other people and at my charter school teachers were really nice but some can be mean. At my school I did not like the speech therapist and the counselor. And if a special-needs person goes to the school but starts acting up they do not understand your disability, but this might be different for other charter schools. At my school they would gossip and they called their mom after five minutes of trying. I do not recommend going here because people are mean and I made no friends at the school.

I am a current student at River Springs Charter School. The vice principal is the worst ever. Before he came here the school was nice and cool and it just felt good to be at school. Now that this new vice principal is here he made the school on edge and just really stressful at school. He this that he runs the school or something because he thinks that he has that much power. I HATE HIM WITH PASSION!

Enrolled my children for the second time in 2022 after moving out of state. WORST EVER!! Between no one knowing what was going on with enrollment, to no instructional guidance to help get us started we started off behind. Our ES couldn’t or wouldn’t spell our names correctly repeatedly. It was a mountain climb from the get go, with very little help. They say they have a “learning curve” more like sink or swim.

In 2016 My child and I were both eager to attend the Rancho location because it offered online learning and my child needed to stay home for awhile. We went to all of the meetings that the school offered before we signed on. We meet the staff and principal and were given the whole speech about how they were going to "personalize" my child's learning. What a joke. There was no organized anything. Lots of games and gimmicks were there. The school was an online school and didn't even have the online set up when school started, they didn't even make sure that it was up and working. How does that happen? But all the games and cameras were ready from day one. The camera guy was filming and taking picture of kids playing. But no academics. Come to find out the principal didn't have a degree in educational administration and the curriculum was joke. River Springs Charter has bad test scores compared to the rest of California and everyone knows CA scores are bad. Why does the state of CA keep giving River Springs Charter more tax payer money to keep opening more of these schools when they are worst than the traditional public schools in CA? This is crazy.

This is an excellent school if and ONLY IF you are a VERY PROACTIVE parent and do most of the leg work yourself!! They have great training classes for parents of home school, and they try to offer many good opportunities for students and parents. Over the past many years we were with them, their motto of parent choice has been pushed by the wayside. They are increasingly like ANY OTHER public school. They USED TO BE better!! I would still recommend the school for regular ed students only. If your child is SPEC ED, STAY AWAY!

This is where the school fails. For easy cases they get what they need, but for more complicated students its another story. We left with frustration, as a result of wishy-washy game playing on the part of Spec Ed, that resulted in more years to graduate, than it should have taken.
My oldest needed a different high school curriculum. We had been asking for 3 yrs. We found out the other students were able to use a different curriculum, so we pushed HARD, and finally were given okay. She got to use it for one year and what a difference it made, but by the next year they said she could no longer use it. Had she been given this curriculum to begin with, she would have graduated on time. My other child was about to be serviced to death! He barely had time with doctor appts and services to get schoolwork done. He is a complicated case. However, when I would go into training on new program for him the provider didnt seem to know how to use the technology herself. She wasted 30 minutes try in get the program to open correctly. Other Spec Ed teachers also wasted my children's service time with technical trouble. In one session my child only completed 3 problems, because the provider spent the entire time helping another student stay logged into the program. Connection issues. Spec Ed claims they want to use technology, but they seem to lack the internet connections, knowledge, and experience in using it.
Also, in the IEP's they deliberately ignore any suggestions the ES's make. In fact, at times they are just plain rude. They also seemed to go out of their way to hold back students by focusing on one aspect of learning and not all of the IEP goals.

Teachers rely almost entirely on computer programs to teach, students don't know how to use a books index or table on contents. The less involved the better I have seen.

It is a business and it is treated as such, children equal dollar signs to those in leadership roles at that place, just try to engage with them. If your child has an IEP they offer no services!!! The middle and high school in Hemet currently have gym time in an asphalt alley. Pick up is a disaster and the school constantly throws half days and unscheduled days off throughout the year. There are good teachers there, but they can't make up for such a dumpster fire of a business, its not a school. Parents are asked to fund the classroom supplies (all of them and all year), supply the items for fundraisers and are then charged to attend the event and for the items they donated.

This is the main reason I love the classical homeschool model. My girls go to campus 2 days a week and homeschool 3 days a week. That gives plenty of time for one on one instruction. Both girls learn in completely different ways, so I love this flexibility.

My kindergarten daughter was able to meet all of her IEP goals in regards to speech therapy within a year. She was put into a Special Day Class in Pre-K and TK at the public school and ended up demonstrating negative behavior patterns. I removed her and then moved her over the next year to the Murrieta Center in the Casa Montessori program. Her TK and K teacher is absolutely amazing and with the support of her, the speech therapist, and RSP teacher, she has soared academically. Her IEP support was outstanding.

I have 2 children at the Casa Montessori in Murrieta. Both of my children are highly intelligent and motivated. They have been able to work with advanced curriculum despite their grade levels. The program also has 2 homeschool days per week in which I am able to teach them using multicultural curriculum advancing them with various pedagogies. Casa Montessori has fully supported the educational and academic goals of my children. My children have developed and advanced as I always hoped they would in a school environment.

My child is part of the Montessori program and has homeschool days twice a week. I participate in my child's education and the homework is provided for them, however, I am able to educate my children using multicultural curriculum that is accepted.

My children have excelled with the support of their teachers. My daughter who is in 2nd grade is at a 4th grade level math and middle school grade level reading and 5th grade level writing. My other daughter is in Kindergarten working on 1st grade curriculum. All of this is supported by their amazing teachers who are effective is fostering this growth and challenging them academically.

I will not go in detail because it has been called out in a number of previous reviews. Bullying in the school is common with the leadership turning a blind eye but has no issues on making sure to go back to review video for other significantly minor offences. I never liked the school from the beginning but took a little bit for my wife to come around until she happened to be there on one occasion where she witnessed him being bullied enough to where he was crying. She reported it to where the Vice Principle chastised her for it! The principle on down to the teachers could care less about the education that your child is getting and this is a direct reflection to where they rank in school averages being found to be significantly below the California average. Keeping in mind that California education system itself is ranked #40 in the union. Students are enrolled in this school for a variety of reasons however if it is to gain an education to prepare to go to college, this is not the place. Whatever the reason maybe, any local public school would be better and if not, then home school. Bottomline the adminstration is terrible, bullying is prevalent, and it is painfully evedent that the school is not out for the education of your child but rather than keep raking in and collecting money from state. Definately not to the adequately qualified teachers whose average salery is almost half of that of other California teachers on average. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I really wanted to love this school, however over the course a few years, I realized that they are very lacking in so many areas. Educationally, I feel they are not up to par with the local public schools. Other than practicing spelling words, my child never had homework. They rely on online tools to teach children. My child hated logging onto a computer and completing endless, multiple practice tests online with no goal in sight. Some of the teachers are really good, and you might have a positive experience if you are lucky enough to get one of the good ones.... The principal does a very poor job at managing the school. The Vice Principal is very cold and unfriendly. The school offers little to no extracurricular activities. The attitude of the staff is very unprofessional. It is a toxic environment. I feel relieved that I have chosen a new school for my child. My child's educational experience can only be better now that we have moved on.

It is nothing what it says it is. There is no tailoring to the student, there isn't any parent/teacher communication over an educational goal and most of all there is absolutely no accountability present. You may sign a charter but it means nothing. At least that's what the principle and assistant principle would seem to express. If a day care is what you are looking for then this is the place. Sure your child will be at risk of getting bullied and it will be their fault but they won't be bogged down with the pressures of learning.

Stay away from these schools all together. I cannot express enough on how bad they are. Your kids will fall behind. They dibt learn correctly, and not held accountable for any work. They will make it seem like a magical super school, and alternative to public schools, but in reality they are just "playing" school. Do yourself a favor , stay away, we finally open our eyes and have a lot of work to do to get back on track.

They have a zero tolerance to bullying, they make every child accountable for their actions, they treat all the children equally and hold them to a very high standard. They guide, nurture and teach each student with the utmost respect and encouragement. You don't find that in most schools, River Springs is definitely a leader in that aspect.

I cannot say more amazing things about this school! They are MONTHS ahead of the public schools, the teachers and staff are amazing (Especially Ms. Lindsey and Mrs. Pearce). And talk about going above and beyond for the Students. They jump on any issues that may arise and I have even received emails on the weekend! Truly the most amazing school ever! This school has kept us in the area, because anywhere else we look, doesn't have schools that even come close to River Springs! If your child isn't here, your child is truly missing out.

This is our family's fourth year at the Riverside Student Center, Mosaic Academy. Through this program my children attend class M-W-F with their peers and incredible teachers, and on T-Th we do school at home. This is an excellent program. The teachers and staff are outstanding. It gives me just the right amount of input into my children's education, with the support of fabulous credentialed educators.

We were moving and we talked to admin an let them know that we were moving. And all of the sudden the Es teacher gave my daughters 3 no shows within one month and they dropped them. I complaint and they forced me to have a meeting with the teacher when I didn't want to deal with her anymore and so I did to try to do what they want and then said I had a 4th progress. ... is that? I asked for help and they just done more paper trail so we don't know what to do. Never had a experience like this. I will get the principal involved at this point.

My experience has been somewhat frustrating. My initial ES (educational specialist), seemed to be less than interested in my children's education. She was not well-versed in the curriculum, and ordered things for my children to do in their free time without my consent. She got frustrated when I asked things more than once ( there's a lot to learn with this school), and did not always show up when she said she would. I was not told about the lending library either, and that I could "check out" some supplies instead of using my children's educational funds to purchase them. The resources are cool, but the rest of it is run pretty poorly.

If you homeschool your child at any age, this is an awesome and free school for you to explore. They offer a lot of activities and curriculum options through a huge selection of support vendors. The sky is the limit with what you want to do to help your students achieve their academic and extra-curricular goals! Both of my daughters graduated from the Homeschool program. The high school guidance department is fabulous, and all staff are careful to ensure that high school students receive a rigorous education and are well prepared for college. The teachers are very friendly and involved with the students directly, not just with the homeschool teacher/parent. They take an active interest in the student's future and want to make sure that they have fun while learning required information and exploring the interests that keep students motivated.

This is a wonderful school! My son goes to the Corona campus. This is our first year and we LOVE this school! His teacher is amazing and does wonderful projects that give each child a love for learning. The principle takes times to know the children and the families, she is very kind and approachable,with the a focus of maintaining a great environment for the kids to flourish.The other children are very kind and considerate.We are very involved parents and very particular about our child's education and we highly recommend this school. We took my child out of the highest rated elementary school in Corona-Norco school district. We will never return to tradition public school. We LOVE Springs Charter and the stand they take in education our kid! The kids get to be themselves and are encouraged to think and explore at this school. They are not always placed in the stigma of being pushed to out do each other or go beyond the state standards. My child had growing anxiety in public school, but now he is realizing his full potential and ownership over his own learning.

I am an employee of Springs Charter Schools and have worked with many of the staff members for more than 10 years. Our school is a great place to work as well as have your children attend. We offer a wide variety of different programs that are designed with different learners in mind. Many families that I work with are homeschoolers and they love the different options that they can use when spending their instructional funds. Springs is an excellent option to the traditional school setting.

The school has great art and computer art elective classes...Photoshop, Photography, InDesign and Drawing and Painting. Dance and Theater as well. Teachers on the mark. One really cool thing is the mechanical engineering elective classes include hands on robotic competition/wars with other schools throughout the state. If you are not into sports or feel lost in a bigger school, the kids at this school go out of their way to be friendly with most everyone.

This school is great! teachers are awesome and the people that works there are super friendly, my daughter loves to go to school everyday and she is learning so much in kindergarten, full time free kindergarten with a wonderful teacher who is always giving us update on everything , and I'm so happy this school respect the separation of church and state, they have parents support on everything they do because they want the best for our children, and the person who just left a comment about the religious material that was removed I have something to tell you, does this affect you? does your children goes there? if so, do you know there is a Christian school right across River springs? anyway this school is absolutely incredible wonderful .

This school now has removed all "Christian books" from their library citing their "sectarian" nature. Perhaps the leadership should review the first amendment and then define "sectarian" lest they have very few books in their library.

Quest Academy Orange County is an amazing school and provides a welcoming environment for your child. My children were nervous to start a new school, but at the end of the school year they told me that this is the best school they have been to and they are so happy that they go here. That says it all for me. The teachers are amazing and because it is a small school all the children from kinder through 8th grade know each other. They have a leadership program, classroom gardens, personalized learning and a PE teacher. Overall a great school!

My 5th grader started attending IShine Learning Center this year. I pulled her from our neighborhood elementary. I must say, as a parent, this was a hard choice to make. But I'm so glad we did! She loves this school. Her teacher is awesome and she thinks the world of 'Ms. Sue'. It's just the type of learning environment that she thrives in. Very independent and very individualistic. This is how she learns best. She attends Monday -Thursday with Fridays designated for a home study day. This has been beneficial for us because it's allowed her work on her projects at home. The teachers seem very happy when they greet the kids in the mornings! Highly recconend this school! We'll miss it when we move out of state this summer.

My child has attending 3rd and 4th grade at the Da Vinci Elementary School at River Springs Charter. I strongly believe this school isn't equipped to assist students that struggle with the fast paced environment. The teachers (well, the ones my child had) seem willing to allow the kids to get left behind unless the parents demand some actions. A lot of the work is done in class, so if there are issues, the parents aren't aware of it until progress reports are posted. My child struggles in math and isn't at the proper grade level. I thought attending a charter school would be a benefit. Now I believe he is further back than when we started this school. I am faced with having to get my child a tutor this summer in order to catch up before being transferred back to a traditional school. I actually spoke with an administrator at the Temecula Valley Elementary School and she said that they get a lot of kids coming back from River Springs Charter. That was very sad to hear. If your child isn't a mini-adult ready for the fast pace of college at age 10, you may want to rethink sending them to Da Vinci Elementary.

All three of my kids go to the Temecula Student Center. We changed schools because I didn't want my older child to deal with traditional middle school. My children love this school. They have awesome teachers and staff. They have really tapped into my children's strengths and have taught them so much. We have been with River Springs for 6 years!!

River Springs Charter in Temecula offers a wonderful and quality education for my multi-aged children from the elementary program to the highschool program. Our children feel loved, accepted, and excited at drop-off and pick-up!!! We have had tons of support from teachers, staff and administration. Teachers are amazing and Mrs. Pangle is always there to support us in every situation. We've been attending for over 3 years now and experienced many great things. I believe that anyone who has had a bad experience at this school has brought it upon themselves with negative attitudes, ridiculous expectations, or lack of communication. Great people who raise wonderful children have success in any situation. This is a wonderful school and we have had nothing but great experiences. I recommend this school in a heartbeat!!

River Springs Da Vinci Academy Temecula. My child went to this school from the moment it opened it's elementary school 4 years ago. First off I want to say that the teachers are outstanding! My daughter excelled with their help and guidance, however, the administration is HORRIBLE! Mrs. Pangle should be fired. I helped very often in the classroom and around the campus and attended almost all the events and I very rarely saw the Principal nor the Vice Principal. I think it is a tragedy that they are not involved. I know a 3rd grade teacher was not welcomed back for reasons that are inaccurate as I helped in that class very often, and again never saw the Principal enter or observe. I don't know how the principal and the vice principal have fooled the administration so long but this school could be GREAT if they brought on some better administration. The PTSO really tries to do events and activities, however there is definitely a lack of parent involvement. We recently had to move so my child is no longer attending and now that I am at a new school and seeing how a Principal SHOULD be involved I realize what the school is lacking. Hopefully River Springs changes things.

My 2 daughters have gone to River Springs for 3 years now and it has been a wonderful experience. The teachers are extremely caring and the principal is outstanding. Regardless of the overall scores my children ranked well above average on all the state testing. I am very pleased with this school.

The Murrieta Center-Montessori Program I love this center/program! The teachers are caring, thoughtful and understandable. They collaborate with you to teach your child. My kids love going to school, it's like their second home. You will not be disappointed in your child's learning if they attend this center and program.

River Springs Magnolia Student Center : the teachers only care about test scores. My daughter was advanced in both English and Math until she got into this school. Her teacher even told us that she loves math and doesn't really teach English in her class. Well, that showed in her test scores. Now in a different grade, her teacher says very mean things, she keeps a bathroom log and now my daughter is afraid to go if she has to.

This is our third year at River Springs Charter School (now Springs Charter School). My kids love it! We have choosen the challenging task of homeschooling our children and River Springs has provided us the tools and resources to do this successfully! I have been very impressed with the Educational Specialists (ESs) that help guide you through the homeschooling process and ensure that all the paperwork is complete for the state requirements. The Educational Specialists are all CA certified teachers that choose to be ESs and I have found them to be so open and understanding of the needs of EACH of our children. The school's philosophy that Parents Have Choices for the education of their children has allowed us to customize the curriculum for both of our children! I wish I had this type of education when I was growing up!

River Springs Charter School has something for everyone. Although we use the homeschool option (with my children taking workshop classes one day per week at a learning center), I like that there are programs available for them to attend classes more regularly in the future if that works better for us. My Education Specialist is great at guiding me as I educate my children. I get the support and guidance I need while still having the freedom to make educational choices for my kids.

River Springs served a purpose for our family for 7 years. At the beginning, we homeschooled and took advantage of enrichment and core classes. It was so exciting and fun to learn with your own children! The teachers teaching site-based courses were wonderful! Then, we attended the middle school program for 3 years. It was a safe and friendly place without all of the middle school social concerns. My child was extremely happy. We also had a high school student in the high school program. The program served a purpose of getting out of the large, traditional high school but I feel more time could be put into that program to engage the students and continue their love of learning. There needs to be more emphasis put on high school counseling as well. To end on a positive note, the pros definitely outweighed the negatives and I am thankful for River Springs and their ability to provide alternative forms of education that parents and children desperately need today. HORRIBLE! Unsafe campus that is unmonitored. Poor academics with no guidance. Program has no direction, with numerous worksheets and online "science" that offers a 15 second blurb on the science subject of the week. NO creativity and activity that would help advanced students excel. Worst school I've ever encountered!

My daughter who is very tall amongst other things has always had a target on her back and constantly being picked on loves this school. My children have been students at River Springs for three years and one is graduating this June. We have been pleased with the high school program, holding students and parents accountable for keeping up with assignments and meeting state standards expectations. Yearly state testing and course scheduling with guidance counselors ensures that my kids are "on track" with their peers and will be able to successfully transition to college after high school. There is more flexibility with the K-8 students, where you have the ability to choose curriculum tailored to your child's needs and learning styles.Finally, being able to enroll your kids in extracurricular lessons and classes and have the school pay for them is just the icing on the cake!

My husband and I found ourselves in a position where we needed guidance and instruction addressing the unique needs of one of our children. Our last child could not respond to traditional teaching. After many attempts and the use of various commonly tried methods, it was time to seek additional help. Homeschooling has challenges for a child who learns differently. After the tried and tested measures failed to give desired results we were able to set up appointments with personnel who could offer more extensive testing and evaluations. I was directed to meet with school professionals to discuss my concerns. They were patient and kind to us. Our child was made to feel comfortable and cared for. We were eventually assigned to a wonderful and caring woman who is still working with us today. She works two hours a week with our child .I also found a reading specialist through River Spring s Vendors just minutes away from my home who adds another two hours of help. These resources are at my finger tips and with the use of flex- funds; my personal costs are greatly offset. River Springs is an organization available to help us, and others like us, along our educational journey.

We love that as River Springs homeschoolers we are able to align our children s interests and passions with their education. My son loves science and engineering and is able to participate in science labs and a Lego simple machines class. My daughter is able to take horseback riding lessons, study about horsemanship and equestrian related sciences. With RSCS there is an accountability to the State Standards. Our children are competitive with traditional school children and are working at grade level. River Springs has support programs such as "I Can" classes, OARS, and more. With "I Cans" RSCS offers awards and incentives for completing the standards. My daughter received a Kindergarten "I CAN" medal and wears it proudly. My son is already more that 50% proficient in the second grade "I Can" standards. In addition to workshops and parent in-services, each family works with a highly qualified teacher at monthly meetings, and collaborate on student progress, develop personalized lesson plans, and review student assessments. My kids love attending workshop classes, making friends, and being involved in sports, nutrition, and Math Fun and Games.

I have been an Educational Specialist for River Springs for 8 years. All of my educational career has been spent teaching out-side-of-the box, so working for a home school was a very interesting approach for me. River Springs is an accredited alternative approach for parents to implement the curriculum of their choice guided by professional educators on benchmarks and rigor. The administration is always up to date on policy, new methods of instruction and fun exciting approaches to learning. They also have the parent in mind and hold numerous curriculum workshops and child developmental sessions throughout the school year. We as educators also have the opportunity to grow in our specialty as well as in new areas. I have a strong belief that we should leave what we are working on in a better state than when we started. I have worked as an ES (Education Specialist) at River Springs for the past 3.5 years and I absolutely love it. I am proud to work at a school that honors parent choice and views the community as the child's real classroom. I work in the Keys High School Independent Study Program and it is amazing to see what River Springs helps these kids achieve; students work independently but are also given the opportunity to work in small classroom settings. They are involved in internships, community service, and the dual enrollment program at Mt. San Jacinto. Several high school graduates have remained in contact with me and have told me that because they learned how to be independent learners in high school, they were prepared for and are successful in college. Above all, I am proud of our school because it is rigorous and challenging -- we have high standards of our students and seeing them work to those standards and feeling pride in their accomplishments is the greatest part of my job. River Springs is a positive and wonderful place. I highly recommend it!

I have been a River Springs parent for many years and all 4 of my children have attended RSCS in both Homeschool & Academy programs. Each has been very successful - 2 have graduated and are high honor students in college and our younger 2 currently attend the Hemet Quest Academy. Some of the reasons I chose River Springs: Personal relationships with administrators and teachers; I LOVE that director knows each student by name and fosters a STRONG sense of community; the teachers work hard to provide a personalized education; students are encouraged to think outside the box while at the same time being held to high academic standards. Not everyone learns in the same way at the same time. A favorite quote by Albert Einstein is, Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing it is stupid. To me, this is what our school is about. Caring about the children we educate! Many children are forced into cookie cutter education programs- they give up and we lose them. I have been very happy with the education my children have received at RSCS. I worked as a classroom teacher for a few years before coming to work for River Springs as an Education Specialist. I have to say, it has opened my eyes to the real potential kids have for learning and what differentiated instructions REALLY means. As a classroom teacher in an inner-city school, I tried to differentiate instruction but it was ridiculously difficult to do on a daily basis. In my opinion, homeschooling is a TERRIFIC option for an education. If you are looking to homeschool your child, RSCS is the place to do it. You get the support of an Education Specialist via face-to-face meetings, email, phone, and text whenever you have any questions. There are so many programs to choose from that the school seems to have found a way to tailor-make education for almost anyone. I have had my sons enrolled with RSCS since 2007. I have been very pleased with our school in many areas. First, I appreciate the emphasis on parent choice. I am able to select the curriculum that best fits the needs of my sons. Second, we have been attending the Riverside Learning Center for the past 4 years and am always pleased with the quality of teaching of the enrichment classes. For my sons, it is the highlight of their week! Third, we take advantage of many educational fieldtrips that are planned each year. Our favorite one is the Sea Star Ocean classroom. My family and I have been very pleased with the opportunities provided to us by River Springs Charter School. By myself, I am a good homeschool teacher -- I believe that no one else can teach my children as well as I can. But with the support of an ES, other homeschool parents, and this school, I am even better. Here are just a few things or activities that we "get" from being a part of River Springs: supplemental workshops in Science and History, writers' workshops, group field trips, trainings and events for me as a teacher/parent, free curriculum and supplies, and extracurricular classes that I otherwise wouldn't be able to afford. I love homeschooling, and I would be a good teacher to my children regardless. But with the support system through River Springs, my children get something extraordinary, which is exactly what they deserve.

In my opinion, this school all around is alright. They need to hire better understanding teachers that will actually walk you through the lesson rather than expecting you to already know it. This school also needs to offer sports and more extracurricular activities. Like a hip-pop dance team, because I would LOVE to take that offer. However, this school as gave me a great education than when I was homeschooled independently at home.

This school is run like a business. The more students they have, the more money they get and that is their main focus. My son's class had 45 students in it with very little walking room. There is very little "individualized attention" within classrooms. Furthermore, classes are run in a "learning center" structure where each group of 10 children literally has about 8 minutes to learn a new subject in class. That group then rotates to another "learning center" to practice what they just learned. You will find that the children are playing around because they really havent learned anything new. If you want your child to go here, please be prepared to work with your child in learning new curriculum due to them not adequately learning the information in class.

River Springs Charter, has been the biggest help in my schooling. I am a high school senior and have been in this program sense my second semester of freshmen year. When I was hired to be an Education Specialist with River Springs Charter School. I cried. I was elated. It was a dream come true. My four years of being on staff with River Springs has been the most rewarding years of my life in Education. We love being a part of the Temecula Student Center!! The emphasis on real learning in the classroom is helping to keep my students constantly engaged, and the outlet for creativity is wonderful! We haven't had a barrage of mindless worksheets sent home every night thanks to the school's 'homework must be meaningful' policy (a version of The Homework Myth book.) This has given our family time back to us, and we are really enjoying it!

I have been a River Springs homeschool parent for 5 years and I absolutely love all aspects of the school. Our family has taken advantage of this free alternative education by participating in Field Trips, Science Fairs, Parent Conferences and Spelling Bee's (to name a few). I especially enjoy the parent training that the school offers and the Enrichment classes my students have been able to participate in. This year we are trying a hybrid program with RSCS where we split the time between homeschool and classroom education. We couldn't be more pleased. There is tons of choice with RSCS- it is not a one size fits all environment like most schools. I wish more families would take advantage of this style of education, my children have soared.

I've been with River Springs since eighth grade. I am now a Junior and I have come so far since I first started. In public school I as a student did not get enough attention in the classroom, but at River Springs I get help with whatever is difficult gor me to comprehend. My children attend the Murrieta Student Center - Casa Montessori Program. The Murrieta Student Center is unique because it offers a hybrid program that allows children to be homeschooled part-time & attend school part-time. Children in grades K-6 can homeschool 2 days/week & attend class 3 days/week or homeschool 3 days/week & attend class 2 days/week. The school offers full-day Kindergarten as well. Admission is free since this is a public charter school. River Springs is the largest charter school in the state of CA. It has student centers in many cities, which I belive skews the overall test score results posted on Great Schools. River Springs offers full-time, 100% homeschool, hybrid, & part-time enrichment programs. Regardless of the program the child is enrolled in, standardized testing is required. The Great Schools rating of "4" for this school accounts for standardized test results of ALL students from ALL student centers combined ,regardless of the program they're enrolled in. I have worked at this school for the last 10 years and have seen tremendous growth over that time. I have watched as teachers worked one on one with students to help them be successful and have heard the wonderful reports from students who have turned their academic lives around and have succeeded when they weren't in the traditional schools. Teachers in this school work hard at personalizing the learning for every student and though it is often difficult, the students appreciate the time and effort that the teachers put into helping them. I was a student in the Redlands Unified School District for 10 year until I moved into the Temecula area. I have always had difficulty with math. Since I have been a student at River Springs I have raised my understanding of math tremendously. The math program is amazing at river springs charter school. For the first time i feel like my math teacher wants me to sucssed. I currently have an A in Alg. II and a 3.7 GPA. I m a Keys High School student at River Springs and this is my first year. The main reason I'm at RS is because my grades at my old school were pretty bad. I was unorganized, couldn't stay on top of my work, and was too distracted by others. Only one of the teachers kept her website up to date. My mom set up meetings to see what we could do to get my grades up, but only one teacher had ideas. Their answer was I should just pay better attention. I ended up failing two classes and barely passed the others. I had to change schools because I was in danger of not graduating on time. The Keys Program was the best choice because I can stay more focused on my work. My classes are independent study, at a site, and online. I meet with my Keys teacher weekly to go over my work and I get extra help if I need it. I'm more organized, know exactly what I m supposed to do, and I schedule my day to do any subject that needs the most focus. Most important, my grades have gone way up, and I'm on track to graduate! I like feeling successful, and I like the one-on-one attention I get from my River Springs teacher. I m really happy to be a River Springs student and can t wait to graduate in 2015.

Despite being only one B away from straight A s all three years of middle school, high school started out very stressful for me. I had a C in English, was struggling in Algebra II and having a lot of problems with my friends and classmates. I was feeling very lost and hopeless. My mom, trying to help me get through it all, suggested that I switch to River Springs. Despite everything, I still didn t want to start all over again and I definitely didn't want to wear a uniform! However, within the first week or two, I had already made a lot of good friends. I was surprised at how kind and friendly everyone was. With approx 100 kids at the Hemet site, teachers can concentrate on individual students, instead of struggling just to remember their names. River Springs has made a huge impact on my life. Now, I have straight A s (thanks to the great teachers), and I am also taking CTE medical classes. I feel that River Springs truly guides students into their future - getting into college, getting a job, and living an all around successful life. Any student that is, or ever will attend River Springs Charter School, including me, is lucky to be a part of such a fantastic school.

It is important to my husband and I that our children are competitive with traditional school kids and that they are working at grade level. River Springs supports these efforts with the I CANs and a new assessment tool; OARS. My kids diligently work on assignments when they know they are I CANs because RSCS offers awards and incentives for completing the standards.

My husband and I chose to school with River Springs after reading the director's mission statement, navigating their website and visiting their learning center. During our seven years of enrollment, River Springs has exceeded expectations. River Springs organizes monthly field trips, hosts parent trainings, community gatherings, and provides support through regular meetings with credentialed teachers. At the beginning of the year, the school hosts a parent conference at Pechanga; throughout the year at various locations, RSCS offers classes designed to train parents as teachers. River Springs provides support through online subscriptions such as Scantron tests and worksheets, ALEKS and IXL math, Enchanted Learning, Discovery Education and Brain Pop. We would not have access to these subscriptions if we were not enrolled with RSCS. The most valuable part of RSCS is its learning centers. Students can attend enrichment classes while parents get a break. Our family has greatly benefited from our choice to school with River Springs. I am confident that this school and its support systems have enabled and encouraged us to educate at home with excellence for the past seven years.

I have been a part of River Springs @ the Magnolia Academy for 5 school years. I have 2 children who are currently in 5th and 6th grade. When I was initially looking for a school for my children to enter in Kindergarten, I honestly didn t know what to look for. I would say that I actually knew what I didn t want more than what I did want. I didn t want my children to become a faceless number in the school system. I knew that I didn t want them to go to a school that was unsafe, overcrowded, or heavily weighted in one demographic or another. And I knew that I didn t want my children to go to a school that did not prepare them for higher education. I knew that raising my children to become independent learners was at the top of my list of wants, but how to find a school to meet all of my criteria was beyond me. Did that school even exist? River Springs Charter School has been that school for me. RSCS had really opened my eyes to the way a school should be. I walk on campus knowing that if there is any issue I will be immediately aware of it. Any questions, I will be called. Any needs will be met. And any new ideas will be listened to. That is a great feeling.

We have been a part of River Springs Charter for four years, and have received excellent help in every area of our daughter's education process. Through the guidance of the Education Specialists, and the many programs offered through the Homeschool program at RSCS, we have received excellent advice in curriculum and in finding creative learning tools. The teachers at RSCS have always gone out of their way to help us attain our goals, not only by suggesting relevant curriculum, but also by offering suggestions for field trips and projects to help my student learn. Additionally, I have learned much about improving my own teaching techniques and effectiveness through the Parent Certification Program. The classes that have been presented to us as parent/teachers have been valuable, collegiate-level courses. I have found RSCS to be made up of an exceptional group of teachers who whole-heartedly love to teach, and to see children succeed in this world we live in. The field trips are excellent, the reward programs are very encouraging for the students, and the guidance given for CA State Standards testing has been invaluable to the students and parents alike.

We love the Mosaic program but the Da Vinci elementary and Renaisance high school are not up to par. The high school Geomtery teacher is not qualified and cannot teach. All her students are suffering because of her lack of knowledge. Will be moving my child next year.

As the art teacher at the school, the administration is doing everything possible to bring technology to the classroom. We just purchase computers that are fully loaded with Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Dreamweaver), and I now teach, Digital Imaging for the High School. We have over 120 Google Chrome computers that are used regularly in the classrooms. In middle school, there is a FT staff member and a PT teacher who teach Technology. I also teach Photography and we allow the students to use their cell phones (real life situations) although we have purchased cameras for the trickier photo shots. I can vouch we try to allow the cell phones when appropriate, such as "googling" information students need. The parent who complained about the use of technology or cell phones, I can only say EVERY school in America has had to "rethink" cell phone use in the classroom. It is a technology that teachers should be able to make use of. However, students can abuse the right and we must safeguard against the abuse. Technology in the classroom is here to stay, and schools are learning to incorporate the newest technology while watching their budgets.

I sure disagree with the previous poster about the school's staff. Gossiping on the walkie-talkies? really? Gosh, I don't see how they could know that for a fact, first of all, and secondly they do a great job, regardless of how they're dressed which is nothing that is subpar whatsoever. My son has been in the school since 2006 and it's been t he best decision I've ever made. I have two adult children and I've tried all kinds of different schools and curriculums and this by far has been the best. The teachers are amazing. The staff is incredible and learn who your child is and are so compassionate and personal. They truly care. The people that direct traffic are terrific and we're lucky to have them. The handicapped spaces are always available except directly afterschool when you have the choice to directly pull up and pick up your child or park and walk in to pick them up. The cones are appropriately placed so that pedestrian traffic can get by. I am grateful to have found this school and can't imagine my son doing so well anywhere else. :)

My children have attended the Murrieta student center's Montessori program since 2009 when we moved to the area, and our family could not be happier with the education they are receiving at River Springs. We find the home study program works seamlessly with what is covered in classrooms. The teachers are phenomenal and truly dedicated to their students. Both of my children love going to school. The curriculum is highly individualized and keeps students challenged. The overall atmosphere is very positive. The other children are kind and tolerant and it is a wonderful place to learn. We love River Springs and highly recommend the Montessori program.

River Springs Charter School is a great school. Their philosophy is student centered and they seek to help families with many different educational pathways. My daughter goes once a week and loves the classes she can choose from. Her teachers are wonderful and keep us up to date on classroom and extension activities. The staff is helpful and friendly as well. Our education specialist is always helpful in answering our questions and keeping us up to date on educational goals and school wide activities and educational opportunities.

This school focuses on students. They teach kids how to learn and how to set and reach goals. I think that kids who experience a hybrid learning approach like at River Springs (three days in the classroom and 2 days at home) do better in their adult lives because they have learned how to manage their time and pursue their interests. I am so happy with this high school program!

School doesn't hold teachers accountable for grading student papers. Refuses to disclose new policies. Will not permit electronic devices of any kind. Very anti forward technology. This is a school moving in a backward direction both in technology and vision. What a disappointment for a charter school.

River Springs Charter has been an amazing experience for us! The support and programs offered are such an asset. My ES goes above and beyond the call of duty, really getting to know my children and their interests, and offering tools and supplies to help them achieve their goals. I have watched this school become insanely busy as interest has significantly increased! The staff is desperately working hard to accomodate everyone new and old. Please be patient with them. They are doing their best while they receive little support and further cutbacks. They truly have their students best interests at heart!

This is my son's first year with River Springs as a high school freshman and I have found great support from the Orange County site administration and faculty! We love our ES who is also very supportive. My only complaint or words of advise would be that new parents and students need thorough training on Moodle (on line syllabus) before starting classes. I taught myself and my son how to use it through sheer will!
