My kids who once loved this school now hate it. They feel like no matter what they do it will be corrected even when right to make them feel wrong. The school has changed so much under the new administration. The students are given very harsh punishments. The fun and joy is gone. Trying to get the SEL support that our school was known for in this district has become near impossible. You can see in the staff throughout the school that they are beaten down. The school went from being about our children and them as a whole to being about numbers and scores and not the kids. I am so sad and disappointed that our amazing school has become what it is now under the new principal. I hope the district listens to the parents complaints and see what their choice did.

During this year's solar eclipse, the school's principal exhibited exceptional management by ensuring complete safety for the children, creating a memorable experience for them. The environment was meticulously prepared to enable students to gain a valuable scientific experience. The dedication to fostering a learning atmosphere while prioritizing student safety was evident, making it a remarkable event that combined education with safety measures effectively.

My son is currently enrolled at Luiseno and we really like the education and support that he's receiving! We like both the teachers and Principal Russi. We've known her since our older sons' days at Redhawk Elementary and she is just as involved now as back then. The relatively high test scores give me hope that the progress between grades will be better reflected this year.

I have 3 children - 2 who currently attend TLES and one former TLES student. We moved to Temecula just after the pandemic and knew no one in our community. After just two short years at the school, we feel like this has always been our school community. While TLES is a large school, the teachers, staff and admin really make sure that all students & their families are seen, recognized and made to feel part of our school community. We have a large and active parent community of volunteers from classroom volunteers to the PTA.
Our admins (Mrs Russi and Mrs Frasher) greet the kids each morning by name and they engage with them throughout campus. They are not shut in their offices; they have their fingers on the pulse of the school and make a point to not just know but truly see each student. That is quite a feat with almost 800 kids enrolled!
Our SEL team in Mrs Lisa and Mrs Kristy go above and beyond each day to help kids who maybe just need a little extra TLC in their day. One of our students was diagnosed with ADHD. Lisa and Kristy have helped to provide strategies and tools for our student to use both in and out of the classroom to be successful. I truly attribute our students success today to Lisa & Krustys efforts to help them.
My students greet teachers, staff and admin alike with a smile (and most likely a hug as well) when they see them. Even our oldest comes back to visit their 5th grade teacher to just share about the newness of middle school. What a wonderful thing it is to see children truly connect with their teachers and not dread going to school each day.

We are very impressed with the quality of teaching, attention our kids are receiving, and the level of family involvement at TLES. Every week there are several opportunities for the families to participate in school activities and parent volunteers abound in the classrooms. The principal greets every child by name as they arrive in the morning. The staff focuses on raising every child up to meet their maximum academic potential as well as citizenship, safety and social-emotional well-being. Teachers are responsive to parent questions and concerns. Our kids are in good hands at TLES and we are grateful to be a part of this community!

I am the mom of 2 TLES students. I am so grateful for this school, the principal, and staff. The principal Ms. Russi greets the students each day by name and is willing to stop and give them her time if she sees their upset. She is warm and loving and the kids can feel she is actively listening to them. The teachers care deeply about student needs. There is not a single teacher I would not entrust my daughters with. They are very engaging in their classrooms. The communication Ive had with teachers has always been amazing. Im grateful to them for investing so much. The assistant principal Mrs. Frasher is always there with a loving smile. Any time Ive seen her with a student she speaks so warmly to them. There is a ton of family involvement. Ive loved watching my girls grow in this school. We came from a school where my daughter struggled with reading. TLES principal Ms. Russi got her into a program with Mrs. Albertoni and Mrs. DeBoe and it has helped her so much. To see them cheer on each students success is so special. As a parent I have found the administration and staff always helpful and cheerful. Thank you Ms.. Russi and Mrs. Frasher for all you do to invest in my daughters and all the students at TLES!

I am a parent of a boy and girl at this school. Both our children are always happy to go to school. My children have really grown academically at this school. They both have a lot of support and wonderful teacher relationships. The school has helped them both achieve great goals and also focus on building their independence and confidence. They have dedicated educators at this school. Our daughter has difficulty at school, especially in focusing and in her writing skills, they have helped her tremendously in both aspects. They have accommodated her and embraced her tremendously. I can't thank the school enough on how great they have been with our daughter in helping her succeed. She is now striving and LOVES going to school! They support her greatly, and help her each step of the way to be successful. Both our children have confidence and great ambition to learn. We are very pleased with their achievements and with the great teachers and staff. Very happy and grateful both our children attend this school.

TLES is a wonderful school and both of my students love it! My oldest daughter has a learning disability and this makes learning a challenge. At TLES her teachers have taught her that she can overcome any challenge and that she "can do hard things." This mindset along with the skills and strategies she has learned have made her a more confident student and she has closed her reading achievement gap growing 4 reading levels over two years. The entire staff truly cares about each student and wants them to learn and grown during their time in TK-5th grade. I would recommend the school to any family moving to Temecula!

After returning from living in Japan, my daughters attended Kindergarten prior to us enrolling in Luiseno. TVSD approved their enrollment to the 1st grade however, after the first week, we received a call from the school stating they were getting put back into kindergarten because of their birthday in Oct. We pleaded with the staff to allow our daughters to complete an assessment test since they completed kindergarten. The staff would not budge and our daughters were forced out of the 1st grade.
Our daughters complained about the low level of learning and were not being challenged. After 2 weeks we pulled them out and enrolled into a private school. Of note: all private school assessments, our daughters tested in the top percentile for 1st grade. Meanwhile the principal told my wife we would regret forcing our daughters to attend 1st grade elsewhere. Best choice we ever made and the Luisenos grade shows it.

TLES is an amazing school - we could not have hoped for a more caring, understanding, and engaging team. The leadership of the school by the principle and her team is fantastic; they instil a sense of positivity, energy, and community in staff and students alike. Equally, the classroom staff provide a warm and caring learning environment, which allows students to develop interests in a wide range of subjects. The emotional support provide is also excellent. It helped our child to reintegrate into the school environment (anxiety free) almost instantaneously; at times we thought this would be impossible. However, because of the patience, warmth, consideration, and dedication of all members of the team, our child's desire to attend school and learn has been reinvigorated.
TLES really is a jewel in the crown of TVUSD. I cannot recommend this superb school more highly.

I have had 2 kids go to TLES from Kinder-5th. I cant express how much love I have for this school. The school was easy to work with in regards to both ADHD accommodations and food allergies. I volunteered a lot and was able to see their phenomenal teachers first hand. The entire staff, from all of the office to noon duties, were welcoming and caring to my children and me. I truly appreciate all they did to get my kids ready for middle school!

We have two students at TLES (including one who just promoted this year) and over the last 6 years we have been so happy with the learning environment, the teachers, the principals, the staff, and the overall feeling of a tight community. We have never had a bad teacher, and any time weve needed support from staff, we have gotten it. Best elementary school ever!

TLES has the most amazing staff. They encourage a well rounded growth of each individual at this school. Also the PTA ensure the most opportunities for teachers and students to be supported and ensure a memorable school year. My children come home excited about their learning experience and never want to miss a day of school because they have something to look forward to each week. Academically, my children have excelled and aim for excellence in all that they do.

I can not thanks TLES enough for what help they have provided for my son. Moving from SD ; he was behind ; but they never discouraged him amd always encouraged him to keep going. With help from his amazing teachers and staff my little man is up to speed and passing kids now ;)
Bullying is never stood for ; not the slightest bit! They will work hard like CSI to figure out who said what and get it taken care of so it never happens again!
Mr. Dignan is the best (not only at getting cars to move) but he really connects with all his students and goes above and beyond to learn almost all their names;; and not just the trouble makers ;)
The front office is always sweet and smiling like they actually do love their jobs :) so thank you TLES for always being there and always making us feel safe ...

Our family loves Luiseno! This was our first year here and we were blown away by the spirit at this school. The principal, Mr. Dignan, is such a huge presence on campus. I love that I see him out on campus with the kids and teachers all the time. My children were in the second and fifth grades this year and they both absolutely loved their teachers. I was privileged to be able to volunteer in the classroom and have seen first hand how caring and wonderful the teachers are with their students. The whole school has a wonderful positive feel of students, teachers, administration, and parents working together to achieve excellent results. The PTA is amazing as well and put on several events that were great. My children both learned so much. I feel it was an excellent year of growth.

TLES has been a great school for my two youngest boys. We put in for a intra-district transfer before they started Kindergarten and it was the best decision we've ever made. For starters the staff is amazing, both in the classroom and the front office. In addition, I've been a parent volunteer in the classroom for 6 years and I've seen first hand how hard the teachers work to help the kids that are struggling as well as challenge those who are ready for more. They treat all their students the same and clearly enjoy their work which is an important aspect of teaching. I just want to add that Mrs. Albertoni, a second grade teacher at TLES should be awarded teacher of the year every year, she is that outstanding.

I have one child at this school and another in private. What a huge difference! Public school is definitely behind. Spend one day volunteering at this school and you will be shocked! So many kids that lack respect and discipline!! I agree with another reviewer, there are many children with special needs in the classroom that are disruptive. Teachers and staff are NOT CPR trained. When I asked why, Principal said that they are not required by law. Homework is a joke. The students are given a list and they are to pick one assignment to do each day, but it's the same list for the whole semester. Homework doesn't pertain to the work they did that day. With a 1000 kids in the school, how can they safely evacuate in case of an emergency? With 28 students per class how can your child learn, especially with multiple disruptions in the classroom? Pick up and drop off are a nightmare.

Horribly overcrowded classes and way too many kids at this elementary school. Kids are overwhelmed and it is just not good for little children to have over 1000+ kids in their school. Loud loud loud try going to lunch with your child you cannot hear a thing. Pta members seem to get the job openings for duties and aids. Many noon duties are rude miserable and do not appear to like children. Classes are overcrowded and many have students with special needs. These kids are allowed to do whatever they want. Kids scream disrupt the other kids they are not removed it is completely unbelievable. If your kid is not diagnosed with something but is struggling good luck getting needed help. Teachers are too overwhelmed already with way too many kids in their classes. There are some incredible teachers there but school has gone downhill. Too too big no sense of community or belonging and every year because there are so many kids your kids will not even have a single friend in class with them. Not a healthy situation at all Kids feel like they changed schools every year because they know noone. It is crazy.

wonderful school for us and specially for my son who just start his kinder here last year, great teacher is just too bad for us that we have to move to San Diego for my son to start his grade school, how i wish there is more school like TLES in San Diego.

An amazing school with wonderful parent involvement. Dads are encouraged to be "Watch D.O.G.S.," which stands for "Dads of Great Students," and participate in the classroom and on the playgrounds. The kids LOVE it. The principle and teachers are so good at what they do on an ever shrinking budget. So many of the teachers DONATE their time before and after school to keep unfunded programs going like Running Club, Chorus and Art, often arriving hours early and staying late into the evening. Children are taught Character Traits in a monthly program, and the on-campus and off-campus field trips really enrich their learning. I so appreciate their dedication to every level of learner. I can see how much they love our children and their careers.
