Poor classroom management skills and communication barriers with students

They can't teach what they lack themselves. They belittle children and call them other than their name. When children have expressed their deep feelings they're ignored, not referred to the correct person or department, or not tooken seriously.

I love PHMS. I have my second child going through there at this moment. We have some amazing teachers and some awesome staff. Also we have Dr. Brian McDaniel who won Riverside County Teacher of the YEAR. He is also now CALIFORNIA Teacher Of The Year. Dr. McDaniel has helped my daughter and other students above and beyond what any other teacher would do.

They do not tolerate it and have implemented a mediation protocol and systems in place to focus on positive reinforcement for positive behavior which has decreased student disputes and situations by 60%.

My child is autistic and I am so impressed with how they incorporate extra supports in place for our son, as needed. The staff are understanding and treat students with special needs with priority and inclusion.

My child is in partial special ed and partial mainstream and all of the teachers care about the students... starting from the top with Principal Dr. Grainger. He is an amazing leader!
Also... Dr. Brian McDaniel the Music Director just was named 2018 California Teacher of the Year!

They have a positive reinforcement program, which utilizes a merit system by scanning the students id's, and keeps tracks of points and the students can redeem them for items (Apple Gift cards, etc etc).

Principal Dr. Grainger is a phenomenal leader. You can sense the level of commitment he has to his staff as well as all of the student body.

The administration will not do anything about the bullies because once they have it on paper; there will be record of how ineffective the administration is and how they allow the bullies to continue bullying. They say that the bully is "counseled" so that they do not have to suspend them from school. The principal and vice principal do not want to suspend the bullies because they are usually African American students. They are afraid of being accused of prejudice actions. The students that are (Af.Amer.) bullies get away with their horrible behavior toward good students and teachers and the principal and vice principal will NOT suspend them NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO!!! Parents should report all bully incidents to the police department because the school will not solve the problems.

The bullying is completely out of control! Nothing is addressed the proper way. My daughter was struck in the face by a male student and this is his second offense in regards to putting his hands on a girl! If it would of been addressed right the first time it probably wouldn't have happened to my daughter so I have decided take matters in my own hands and going to file a police report tomorrow

My nephew goes to this school, thankfully only until the end of 2013-2014 school year. He has been bullied beyond belief with nothing done about it! My children go to a school in ma where they are safe from being picked on or being physically assaulted. All i can say is shame on the principal and teachers for allowing this horrible behavior to continue. I feel the media and law enforcement should intervene.
