This is in response to the "school's" reply to my review (the most recent), as I can't reply to their AI generated response.
As you can see, this institution cares more about touting its' accomplishments than trying to rectifying its' poor outlook on education.
I truly believed this was the view of the previous Principal but a response like this make it painfully obvious that this is the view of the administration as a whole.
My child no longer attends James Monroe, despite the unsubstantiated claim that they do. If you can't trust a school administration to be honest on a reputable school reviewing platform, how sure are you that you can trust them with your child's education?

It is painfully obvious that this school puts funding and their precious rating above the good of its' students. Mrs. Joiner lacks basic communication skills while touting an empty mission statement. If you expect a well rounded, pragmatic and modern approach to your children's education, I would implore you to look elsewhere.

This school is amazing. Having 6 children all attend here over the last 13 years has been a great experience. My children are all so smart and I believe it starts from Elementary level of academics. The curriculum is superb and my children have all loved this school and the teachers.

Because of the classroom situation I initiated a contact with the then Principal who has now moved to a district position. When he came out to meet me for the first time he was red in the face and began raising his voice and yelling over nothing. I was shocked and asked him if we could move into his office to talk because I was embarrassed and humiliated. I talked quietly and calmly and finally he settled down. I never knew why he acted that way because I was just trying to find out why my student was continually missing recess and being made to sit in his office. I was trying to be proactive for my student. He suggested a meeting with the counsellor and teacher later but the teacher was late and only there for the last 1 minutes. I'm glad this school has a new principal.

My students second grade teacher was allowed to bully several boys in her class by humiliating and isolating and publicly embarrassing them.

my 2nd grader could handle the work I think, but very little input from the teacher about how or where any weaknesses were or how we could help although we kept trying to communicate

If a student is struggling like my second grader was the teacher was allowed to isolate and humiliate him with no consequences or accountability. Our experience was terrible so opposite from modeling of integrity, compassion and respect.

I transferred to this school because I heard it was highly rated and our student is very bright and could already read very well. The teacher he was assigned to was cruel and dishonest. She was never held accountable for what she did, even though the Principal was aware. The school test scores and the people I met were extremely nice and positive about the school. Hopefully we had an isolated experience with this second grade teacher.

There was an incident with my son which I addressed the very next day with his teacher. But mid morning I had already recieved a call from Mr. Kint advising that all children involved had been spoken to and the matter had been resolved.

My son came from a different school district where he struggled a lot. When we moved here his attitude towards school change dramatically. He was excited to learn and loved all his teachers. This place has taught him character, has educated him very well and has given him lots confidence. Great school and great teachers.

We are ending our first year with a student at this school. Our student has loved the school and excelled in his studies. His teacher (and others at the school) are strongly encouraged to attend seminars and classes to improve their teaching strategies. Thus, our son has greatly benefited from cutting-edge technology and from fun, educational, and new learning methods. His teacher is extremely experienced and great with all the students regardless of their background or their previous education. On top of this, our son is actually excited to go to school! My son has many cousins at the school and each of them relate the same excitement for the school and are doing great academically (mostly due to the dedication of the teachers as some of the teachers have even stayed after school multiple times to tutor the children and to make sure they stay on pace with the rest of the class). This is definitely not your typical school! I have nothing but great things to say about it!

Great school, dedicated staff, strong leadership! We are lucky to have found this school. It is a hidden treasure in the district. It is very warm and friendly. Students are challenged at their individual levels. My child has flourished academically, while learning so many wonderful skills. Health is a big focus with exercise and healthy food choices being at the core. This school offers everything a parent could want and more in a small campus setting. I wish every child had as great of a school to attend as James Monroe!

Wonderful school with dedicated staff that do what they can to help your child succeed. My son has a learning disability and they have worked to help him feel confident and do what they can to make it the best learning experience as possible for him. So glad we chose this school!
