This is by far, one of the best schools in the area. Everyone is friendly, and the staff really seem to care. There is a great small town feel and tightly knit community vibe at this school. The principal is caring and effective in his leadership roll.

There is a first grade teacher at the school that intimidated and bullied my daughter to the point where she had to go see her therapist the principal did not care so we are now in the mitts of suing the school district and the school and I am going after the principals job and the first grade teachers job if you are not there out of the goodness of your heart to be there for children then dont teach.

We are now in the mitts of going to court because you should not be a principal or a teacher if youre going to be a nasty person or a bully you need to be there for the childrenThe first grade teacher bullied my daughter I took it to the principal and he did nothing about it this teacher also manipulated my daughter and made her feel like everything was her fault.

The principal should not be principal there and the first grade teacher should not be teaching the first grade teacher bullied my daughter and then because I went to go talk to her about it claimed I put my hands on her but the camera show differently because I never did the principal still chose to back up a lying teacher . We are now in the mitts of going to court because you should not be a principal or a teacher if youre going to be a nasty person or a bully you need to be there for the children

As in life you really do get out of it what you put in. Cottonwood School is fantastic because the teachers, admin and parents all work together to help the children succeed. You can not just drop off your children and expect the school to handle every thing. Our kids have had the opportunity for a great education because of the kind and caring attention they have received from Cottonwood staff. That said, you as a parent must commit to help with homework, extra curricula activities and volunteering when you can. This team pack is what makes Cottonwood and the students successful. There are ups and downs, but kids with smiling faces and great attitudes exit the school every day when the bell rings. I am glad we have our children at this school.

I rate Cottonwood Elementary the best school my children and/or grandchildren have ever attended. Our grandson's life has been permanently changed in a positive way. Since we enrolled him, he has learned to read so well that his scores went up 1 and 1/2 years in one semester. That is fantastic. His teachers and principal are positive and encouraging. He looks forward to school and is doing well socially.
The homework is reasonable so he does not feel overwhelmed. The homework scenes in our house used to include a lot of stress; now he works independently and is motivated to finish.
The teachers pay attention to his individual needs and have helped him succeed academically where he was weak. Thank you Cottonwood Elementary!!!

This is truly a Great School! I have two children at Cottonwood and am thrilled with how well they are doing and how comfortable they feel. This is due to the excellent teachers and a strong Principal who is both supportive and enthusiastic. My children are succeeding both academically and socially. There is a lot of parental support, avid volunteers and a wonderful PTO. No wonder they have a National Blue Ribbon Award and Distinguished School status.

My Son has attended Cottonwood School since He was 5, in his first year he was diagnosed with ADHD, We have had many ups and downs, my son has come a long way, this year he is entering 9th grade at Hamilton High School, he has grown into one of the most amazeing young men I have ever known, I a credit this entirely to his time at Cottonwood School, the staff at Cottonwood were wonderful, makeing sure he had every advantage, my som is who he is now because of the love and compassion they all gave so freely tpo him, there are some who stood out, I would like to thank each of them, Mrs Sheryl Casilloas, without whom we could not have survived. Bonnie Peters, always there when we needed her, she never let me down. and Mrs Robin Hammond who spent many many hours working with him, these people will forever special to me, thank all oif you again, I love you all, Sincerly Becki Teague.

Cottonwood isn't just a California Distinguished School but is one of 33 schools in the state that has been nominated for the National Blue Ribbon Award. This school is the cornerstone of the community with a very rural student body, but you'd never know they were country kids by how well they perform. Cottonwood isn't just a school, its got a family atmosphere, the one time a child of mine had a problem with teasing the principle got involved and had the entire grade level (one classroom, small school) talked to. One talk and my daughter was no longer singled out. The staff truly cares and wants to create the best environment for every student to thrive in. Cottonwood kids are amazing too, I now have 3 kids in attendance from 7th grade to preschool, at every grade level they are fully involved in the activities and I don't hear a single complaint. Having only moved to the area 2 years ago from the city, I'm in a good position to compare Cottonwood to alternative options in the region, this school is amazing. The sports program is great too, in middle school its a class, everyone can participate if they want to play sports regardless of prior ability, and they do well!
