The previous posters have no clue about what is really happening at DAB-MS. Academically, the school has been on a steady rise since Miss Mills has arrived. The administrative staff is professional, courteous and very involved with students' welfare and activities. Much is done for their moral in an attempt to keep them intrested in the learning process. Involved parents know the value of 'House' competition. If the staff has a bad 'rap' it is due to individuals that feel they know more about running the system than those that have been appointed to do so. I truly feel my child's education is the number one priority of those running the school, as it should be.

I agree that most of the homework supports what my children are learning in class.

Neither my kids nor I have had any issues with the teachers at DAB. Any questions or concerns I have had have been answered in a timely and adequate manner.

Middle school is a hard time for kids. My kids have stayed on the straight and narrow while at this school and I attribute a lot of that to how caring the staff is. They often come home from school and tell me things theyve talked about with their teachers. Its nice that they have that rapport with them. My kids are treated respectfully by the staff and have learned to treat others that way.

The principal and vice principal do their best at DAB. They care about the students and staff. I always feel welcomed when I am on campus.

Bullying is really hard to deal with in middle school. It seems like everyone thinks they are being bullied by someone else. The staff does what they legally can to protect all students. I really feel bad for the principal that she gets so much hate from parents. She is doing everything she possibly can to keep the kids from harming each other. My own children thankfully have been able to handle any problems on their own.

Love it. Even the morning drop off is great now with the new light. My kids actually like middle school. They have lots of good friends and are able to excel academically at DAB.

My daughter came from a good school district. Honor roll student. Came here, grades fell to Ds and Fs. I had no knowledge until it was too late. The choir teacher is the best one there. Very kind and caring.

They just dont really care. They dont send anything home regarding updates of grades. No communication with parent or student

Cyber bullying, harassment in and out of school, threats. Dont say you werent warned. The staff does not care. Will come up with every excuse to defend the bully and will not stand up for the tiny 79 lb victim who is scared to attend school

Expect bullying. They wont do anything about it. Dress code not enforced. If you come from a good school district you will be disappointed

Absolutely not. My child was a new student, started a few months after school began. Was bullied from day one. She was shy, small and just wanted friends. She was bullied so bad I had to seek counseling, out of school of course, for depression and suicidal thoughts. She was afraid to go to school. Tried going to the staff 3 times and nothing was done. Bully was still there everyday waiting for my child to taunt. Turned people against my child and made fake social media accounts just to make fun of and put down my child. My child loved to sing, dance and was an honor roll student. After this school she wouldnt even come out of her room. As a mother it brakes my heart till this day. This happened in 2017

Bad, horrible. Haunts me to this very day. Students are not disciplined for bullying. Victims are put down and made to feel very uncomfortable for coming forward. Teachers do not enforce students privacy and will gladly announce students business to the entire classroom. I had to pull my child out of this school. Was horribly depressed and felt ugly, dumb and upset everyday. We now attend a charter school. Things are much better but the bullies have followed us and continue to taunt and put down my child on a daily basis through social media. The words that are said are disgusting and my child struggles with self worth everyday. All this from David A Brown Middle School. So sad that there is nothing that can be done. I dont understand this hate

The students were always fighting in the hallways. They have a problem with fights and bullying, but they have no clue how to fix it.

Leadership starts its way at the top and then goes from there. The principal only cares about the school's reputation and not about the students themselves.

I am an ex-staff member who worked at DAB for 6 months and left after seeing how horrible the other aides could be to special-needs students. The aides and the principals do not care about their safety or happiness.

I am a former employee who worked at DAB about a year ago and had a horrible experience. I'm certain the school hasn't changed, especially if the same two principals are still working there. There are some nice staff members ( namely the office and many of the teachers) but the principals and the special-needs department is unprofessional and lacking. Take it from somebody who worked there and then quit, DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE IF THEY ARE IN SPECIAL NEEDS!!! You're better off finding a school that's much more passionate and not interested in their own self-image.

Office staff A+
Teachers are always involved
Think Together AA+ for my child's self esteem, a variety of educational outlets and comradery

I have not had a problem with the school. I signed up for the text messages and alerts. I get text messages from the Teacher's daily and pre recorded phone calls from the principle weekly with school announcements and updates. I was nervous because I initially judge the school based upon its exterior apparence. Overall this school had been a very positive experience for my middle school student. My only complaint is one office staff personal is very dry but other than that I like the school.

The teachers show a lack of teaching and it's unfair to every student. If they don't like you as a parent or student it will show.

Okay. I give this school 2 stars but only 2. This school has poor moral and you can feel it in the environment that it's in. Half the school is handicap students and the other half is regular students, and the school is located up a mountain. Really. I am just done with this school. Some of the teachers are great but it's rare. Like a diamond in the rough. As a parent you need to stay on top of the teachers that don't care, you will see them a mile away. Don't let them walk all over you nor do what they want with your child. Be a very active parent at this school. and let the teachers and principle know you mean business.

This school is a good school if you are a good kid and get the right teachers if you are failing and disrespectful it's very hard.i was very disrespectful in 6th and did not complete my work and I got put in a program called 7th grade academy, which I thought was gonna be prison, but it was the greatest experience I think I could've gotten.they work at YOUR level based on your work from 6th and you move up.what seventh grade academy is is a program of handpicked kids who show up but are struggling and they help you with everything I saw a lot of improvement in myself I was wanting to show up and do my work and have a better attitude.plus, bullying is really not an option in this program everyone becomes a family and I have friends that I can really count on who don't think I'm stupid because I'm in the same thing they r (kinda like wearing the same uniform as someone and saying their outfit is stupid,it just makes no sense)but overall I give this school 1 and a half thumbs up because I don't really like some of the staff at the school but the ones in 7th grade academy are spectacular!

this is a failing school. Has a few "choice" teachers but the majority are horrible. Teachers have no lust for teaching. One teachers recently told my son her class would be better off without him in it and she hates him. Leave messages for principal with no return call. Its just a mess

The school is wonderful and the teachers are okay,I dislike how they don't have drama or choir. They use to have a small drama class,I was in that class, then the teacher stopped and did a writing class.they need to have more performing arts. They do have a band but this school needs a chior. Overall I love this school,I really love how asb makes fun activites for students,I'm going to my 3rd year at this school.

My daughter is in the gate program here and has a team of teachers, last name Riley, they are super great and actually make learning as fun as possible. Whoever wrote, "don't send your kids to ANY Lake Elsinore schools" obviously has no idea what they are talking about. My children have gone to school here since kindergarten and both have had really good experiences. This school is wonderful and i think that a big part of that is due to the awesome principal, Mrs. Gaither and the dedicated guidance team, especially Mr. Brookshire. Most middle schools are really inadequate, however, this is not one of them. And, I agree, they make lunchtime fun, they celebrate holidays and let the KIDS have fun. There is an exception here, the P.E. teachers are terrible. They truly do not like children and treat them like 2nd class citizens. I would love for them to have to be downtrodden the way they make the students feel.
