The main problem I'm experiencing right now is the attitude of the students! I mean, either they're completely burned out from taking all IB classes or they're in average classes and they've given up all hope. It's so depressing, and I wish there was a definitive way to fix it. It makes it harder to try when everyone is either destroying themselves by doing too much or eroding away from doing nothing at all.

My overall experience here has been terrible. Now I do enjoy some of the classes I'm interested in but other than that it's a common core suck fest that offers nothing to someone who doesn't specialize in Math or any other class. To say this it's like a gladiator arena only the best of the best survive this school. Not to mention it's so concerned about their "IB" program that it becomes a constant reminder that this school is for the people with better advantages AKA people who are good at everything and don't struggle in places like Math which many (like myself) struggle with immensely. Only good things about this school which isn't much of a redemption is some of the teachers, my friends, and the JROTC Program.

Moving from out of the area we were struck by how cliquey Murrieta Valley is. Poorest and richest student in Murrieta attend and kids separate by race, economics and religion in the school. Lack of respect for adults and each other -- I would recommend another school in Murrieta for your kids.

Traffic problem!!! I would appreciate ideas to help the flow of traffic during morning and afternoon periods. A parent who needs to get there or around there in the am or pm will likely spend a chunk of time if they are unable to afford the nearest neighborhood. If they can afford the nearest neighborhood there are few houses open to sell.

Almost everyone at MVHS needs to retire. Drugs are everywhere, even in class where the teachers either have blinders on, or don't care. Many of my fellow students reach out for extra help because of the teacher's inability teach, or they have forgotten how to teach. None of them see the correlation. Horrible eviorment to send a kid who wants to learn. Send your children to where they are wanted.... and it is not MVHS.

Murrieta Valley High School is a fantastic school.Teachers are very invested and take the time to help their students.plenty of clubs opportunities and things for the kids to become well rounded. My daughter has been there since her sophomore year and she loves it.

I am currently a junior in Mvhs and the school is terribly disappointing. Most teachers seem like they are only here for the money and could care less about you and your grades. I was a straight A student all my life, coming into this school with a 4.5 GPA, the highest I could get with the honors classes I was enrolled in. Even with the stress of a move I should of been fine but my grades started to drop, beginning with my best subject, English. My grades continue to drop and there is no help. Currently I am failing because of this school. I have a learning disability and am finding no help here, and even with continued effort on my part. They said that I didn't qualify for special help because I am in AP classes which is a total lie. They are all acting like they are doing there best to help me but they aren't doing everything. It took two months of me failing to get an unproductive meeting. They say that that is the way the course must be run but the other AP teacher is different so Again they are lyeing. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SEND YOUR CHILDERN TO THIS SCHOOL, THEY WILL FAIL AND NOTHING WILL BE DONE. IT WILL ALL BE so BLAMED ON THEM. DO NOT SEND THEM TO MVHS!!!!!!!!

I am a parent of a 9th grader at Murrieta Valley High School. Academically, the school seems pretty rigorous, and the teachers fairly supportive, although the classes are pretty much at maximum capacity. There is a great community spirit, but the culture has a focus on "dating" that I find alarming. I'm planning to remove my daughter from the school at the end of the year.

I'm a parent of 2 students who are currently attending this school. I feel the quality of learning is mostly dependent on the student. Yes, it's crowded, as most schools are. Some teachers are better than others, but you can't expect a teacher to hold your child's hand every step of the way. Your teen is in the process of maturing and needs to learn to be accountable for him/herself. How can they handle themselves in the real world if they can't handle high school? I'm experiencing both scenarios with my kids. One is super involved and is doing excellent, while the other can't wait to get out of school. This school is ranked higher academically than the other two in this district. The school is the oldest, so it's not in the best shape. Learning to succeed isn't based on beauty, it's based on the competent teachers and the diligent student. Go Nighthawks!
