Our family loves this school, and we have had incredible experiences here—teachers like Mrs. Jackson are truly among the best and show how wonderful this environment can be. However, I am writing to report a concerning pattern of unfair treatment that occurred during my child’s first-grade year in 2025.
Throughout that 2025 school year, my child was routinely sidelined, targeted, and subjected to dramatic reactions over minor incidents, that made our kid not wanting to go to school. While we deeply appreciate the overall quality of the school, this specific experience was inequitable. I am sharing this so administration can ensure all classrooms maintain the high standard of fairness set by exceptional educators like Mrs. Jackson.

My son has been going to the school since kindergarten, the major problem that I have with this school is it's extremely overcrowded. My son needs a little help in class and because of this, they have to put him in the special education.,So he can get that support.. He doesn't have a learning disability or any disabilities but because there's over 30 kids in his classroom. He needs the help because obviously the teacher isn't able to give 1 on 1 throughout the day.

Our experience at this school has been amazing!! My daughter came for her 5th grade year only, but immediately she fell in love with the school, its teachers and staff. She felt included and cared about. She has always been pretty independent, but was still really scared about her first day. She has thrived there this year with her teacher and classmates. They have a wonderful Principal, VP, and Counselor who really try to bring the kids together with wonderful after school programs, band, and 4th&5th grade student leadership. My daughter is not on an IEP, so I can’t speak to that, but they do have a great system in place if your child falls behind in grade level. Really like this school, I wish my daughter went to this school for all of elementary. I know she will miss it when she moves on to middle school this year. Keep doing great things Tovashal!

The following information comes from a non-English-speaking family, and the text has been translated using ChatGPT: "We are very honored to have sent our child to this school. We have received tremendous help, and the staff and teachers here are very good. Every person we have come in contact with has been exceptional and friendly! Yes, for a non-English-speaking family, this is amazing! We are lucky, and the support and care that I and my children have felt go beyond our imagination! Thank you, Tovashal Elementary School."

Awesome teachers, they listen to parent complaints and endeavor to make corrections to the best possible level.
My kid's teachers are also great, I remember discussing my son's progress in class with his teacher and she immediately develop plans to help him improve in his spellings and maths.
Within weeks there was a tremendous improvement in my sons academics.

All kudo to the management, teachers and staffs of Tovasha.
We love you

I love this school and it’s staff. They’re much more technology savvy than our last school and the teachers and staff are all so caring.

The principal is always smiling, dresses up on all the spirit days and can usually be seen out front after school, helping kids get to their cars. The valet service the school has blew my mind. Kids can volunteer to help in the mornings to open and close car doors helping other students and parents during drop offs. This is super efficient and they almost always tell the parents to have a good day.

When we moved here I had a 1st and 2nd grader. My younger one had trouble focusing and not blurting out and the teacher went above and beyond to help him in class but also stay in communication with me. Together we were able to help my child and the teacher even cheered him on when she learned about our at home rewards system to enforce good behavior at school. She let my child and I know how much of a difference she saw and made the entire situation so awesome. We no longer have those issues.

My child spilled his bag of valentines when getting into my car after school. An older kid loudly laughed and pointed at my son and the principal saw the entire thing. She explained to my son that it was ok and then addressed the issue with the other student instantly.

This school has been awesome so far for us. My children have only had one negative experience with a teacher who really just needs to retire. Other than that, teachers and staff are very open door, friendly, caring, and truly want the best for the students.

One down side- lots of students from Axvanat (sp?) ES attend Tovashal. Because that ES just isn’t up to par in academics and doesn’t have the same friendly atmosphere as TES.

Many very knowledgeable seasoned teachers at Tovashal who are attentive to students. They are effective with homework

Posted: October 2, 2016

Homework is distributed each week in a homework folder provided by the teachers. Very organized.

I have 2 children at this school. This school has a low turn over of staff and in fact, many of the staff and teachers have been there for years. Makes great for a first name basis and feeling comfortable at your school. There are many, many parents that are involved in helping the teachers out in the classrooms and the PTA is very strong. It's a great school with strong parent involvement all around.

I have found the staff at this school to be wonderful and very well prepared for teaching students. The school goes beyond academics and seems to always have a community event planned so that the community is involved with the school. I couldn't be happier with my child being placed in this school.

Best. School. Ever. No doubt. No, seriously. This school has the best staff, the best PTA, everything. I was a student here since first grade until fourth. It was the best time of my life. BTW I'm in 8th grade now so don't take me as a 5th grade tech freak.

I LOVE THIS SCHOOL! its my school i've been here since 2nd grade and im going to "graduate" at the end of this year. I have just 1 little problem, THE AIDS. cause seriously the staff is amazing but the aids are the worst. if you ever go to tovashal dont do anything "bad" infront of them. once my friend was on the swings, and she took her hands off for at least 0.5 seconds and she got banned from the swings. this other thing happened a couple days ago and i was going to drop off my jacket in my classroom during lunch and i almost got a 'blue slip' (to go to the office) by one of the aids O.o i mean seriously!

Just moved to this area. I heard so many great things about this school, looking forward to having my children attend here.

My daughter is finishing her 5th grade year here after starting in 3rd. I cannot say enough good things about this school and the staff. They have done admirably well with the budget cuts they've had to deal with. I have so much admiration for the teachers, ESPECIALLY Mr. Fanning, Mr. Glendinning and Mrs. Becker. Mrs. Becker taught my daughter to love math and to understand it, and THAT is one great feat with my daughter!

My two children currently attend this school (3rd and 5th grade) and the teachers have all been wonderful. They have been very communicative and seem geniuinely interested in doing all that they can to make sure the student succeed. I have also been highly impressed with parent involvement and support. The schools in Murrieta (and Tovashal in particular) are one of the reasons that we chose to move up to the Inland Empire.

Our children attended Tovashal for 2 years (Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grades) and we will sadly be moving to another area. Our experience with the teachers have excelled our expectations and they have set the bar quite high for us as parents! The responsiveness to emails, inquiries, activities, etc. is so refreshing and my husband and I are hoping to have the same fortune for our children at their new school.
