This school was ableist and scrutinized mental health favored students, and downplayed situations I had staff be rude and promote bullying among students and I've had supposed mental health professionals at the school directly tell information between students of other patients and use information against the student who conversing with them, the school suspended a student over a psychosis diagnosis, the school does nothing to help between physical or alterations between students and suppose multiple students attacking one and/or with weapons, as the school does a positive reviews overtime it has a severely changed, the students themselves are as bad as the school.

Theres a lot of fights including weapons and teachers don ´ t put in enough effort to teach their students.

Excellent school, principal is really everywhere at school, hardworking and very friendly with the students, they respect her, love her and care about the school, they have plenty of extra programs and activities to the kids, also great disposition from the teachers to work on extra class doing tutoring to the student that need it the most! I love the school and the opportunities that bring to my children and myself to be part of it. Thank you NNC. principal got the award of best principal of 2015 in the district. WOW! she deserved it.

As a parent who just had their child promote from NNC this year, his past 3 years have been incredible. Not only was my child involved in after-school activities such as Young Interpreters and Kids Care club, he also gained many friends through these programs. I saw him go from a timid child, to a confident, bright young man ready for highschool. The staff at NNC are interactive, and do care for your child, as well as support them. I'm glad for the school, as it help my son be where he is today academically, as well as socially.

I was very apprehensive about sending my child to NNC. I tried to have him transferred but the "best" middle school in the PSUSD is over crowded and the other middle schools have a worse score than NNC. Well, my child has attended NNC two years now and I don't have any complaints. There are plenty of opportunities for him to participate in after activities. Every time there's some kind of assembly during school or in the evening for parents you can see all kinds of groups your child can be part of. I see the ASB kids, and the interpreter club kids happily helping out. I watch the choir, band, cheer, dance and drama, show off their talents. There is the kids care club always set up trying to raise funds for whatever cause is important to them. The principle is always in attendance. There are the sports teams you can join or technology clubs, debate team, ect. They also have the AVID program and JUMP. There are so many opportunities for your child to be involved and to find something to be passionate about. I am very happy with NNC.

It us extremely obvious that a staff meeting was called for teachers to post on this site for March 22,2014, because the reviews are BOGUS to say the least.There are no such thing as An afterschool program for Bullying or ANYTHING ELSE WORTH LEAVING YOUR CHILD FOR! The so called leadership is nonexistant! This school does not have leadership at ALL. It has a principal who needs to retire, so a more youthful, fresh minded,individual who is in touch with todays social issues dealing with our youth, can step in. No disrespect but until that happens thete will be no change.Staff of NNC, stop posting untrue post about your school being something that it is NOT! #CHANGENEEDEDATNNC

There is an awful lot of speculation on the rather inefficiency of Nellie N. Coffman. As a person which has seen it grow and become grander I would like to somewhat destroy the 'comments' which are both irrelevant and incorrect. For starters, its Debate team has excelled to a point of such great improvement. This April it will go to Nationals representing the Desert Valley Debate League as 1st place. As for its staff, they have most certainly PROVEN that they acquire of more educational resources to their students than many schools in the Coachella Valley. As for the Principal, she is probably the BEST leader that Nellie N. Coffman will ever have. Her initiative and involvement within school parameters just completely overachieved the set goals. She first of all doesn't just focus on her duties, but goes beyond that. She helps out with extracurricular activities and students which need of some assistance. That furthermore proves that this school is not that bad. In fact probably one of the best ran schools you will ever find.

Though the outdated reviews of 2009 and below may rather implore the discrepancies of the school you may change your mind when you click on the Programs and Culture- tab. Extracurriculars such as Debate, Band, Choir, music, art, computer graphic, and sports can really develop middle school adolescents. Among its staff you can find coaches, psychologists, counselors, security, math specialists, and science curriculums. Among others. If you were to ever put your child in this school don't worry about 'racism' as some of the other reviews may accuse of the school of having. The Associated Student Body, the counselor, and even its After School Program nail the subject of bullying extensively. The ASB group also lets the students have fun by providing After School Activities, school spirit weeks, and even Lunch Activities for Students to have fun.

The school was at one time improving and getting better, then the principal retired!!! The current principal has made this school unbearable for substitutes as well as to the current staff. The principal gives the students the power to disagree with the teacher on everything and she never faults the students for disrupting the learning environment.

My child was in the Severe Special Education Life Skills Program at this school for 6th and 7th grade. It was one of the greatest experiences for him. The Principal was amazing, she attended every single IEP meeting and was very involved with the students. Unfortunately when he went into 8th grade the entire program was shipped off to Raymond Cree, which was not a nice place at all.

I substituted at this school several times. I quit the job in the worst job market in the country because of how bad this school was. I can't say more than to tell you I was there and I wouldn't subject myself to that kind of environment let alone my children. When I told the teachers that I substituted for, that the students felt empowered to act horribly, three of them told me at separate times that the administration supported this attitude. Yes threatening, yes uncontrolled talking, yes uncontrolled refusal to do work, yes completely ignored my requests to let other students in the classroom please listen to the lesson. It goes on and on. It would be a disservice to your children to enroll them here.

This is one of the worst ever. I had to take my son out of this school because he was getting attacked everyday because he has white. I was reallt frightening for his life. It was getting perty bad. The principal diden't care at all. I took him out to do independent study every monday you go in and pick up a package for the student to turn in on friday . only one time in 8 weeks did they have a package ready for him. so the school really did leave my son behind. I am happy we are back in Nevada were this school cares about the students.
