They do an assembly about bullying. They also let the WHOLE campus go to lunch at one time. Nearly 1,000 kids grades 6-8 are at lunch at the same time with little to NO supervision other than the two 'security guards' watching 1,000 kids. Seriously

the WORST campus I have every worked at. I would not work there again if they paid me double. The problem is not the location or the students, it is the ADMINISTRATION.

Administration is completely useless. No leadership at all. Admin does nothing about behavior and leaves it to the teachers who have little to no recourse without admin support. There are good teacher there, however they leave because of the administration.

Teachers try to do their best at this campus. DSMS rarely does anything fun for the kids. They do not reward the kids for good behavior or good attendance.

DSMS has resource students in self-contained classes all year. This is not the least restrictive environment and is out of compliance. They do not have resource teachers at this campus. Administration does not show up for IEP meetings. It is a regular practice at this campus. That is also illegal.

Some of the office staff are very rude. It is understandable that some of the parents are not the easiest to deal with but to have a rude approach for no reason, this does not make this school any better. I believe that this school this school would have better results if all it's staff changed their attitude.

After reading many of the responses below, it is ever more apparent that this school under Dr. Kiela Snider (Formally Bonelli) has done wonderful things in changing the overall atmosphere of the school. The students love going here, there are virtually no more fights, less than three a year, the teachers are remaining in the school instead of moving to a "better" school. This school also just became one of only eleven schools to be recognized as a National Schools to Watch school. The teachers are hard working and dedicated to their students. The principle (Dr. Bonelli, must have bought her degree online) is a joke and doesn't seem to care for much of anything. Why isn't the school board doing something about this woman ruining the school. Having been a teacher myself (30+years LAUSD) I can tell you the teachers here have no rights and is working for a tyrant. Again the teachers are great, I wish I could say the same for the administration.

Honestly this school is horrible. its too crowded . Theirs a lot of fights happening. Staff isn't doing their job. i been there for 2 years. and i feel that i'm not getting education at that school . i feel that they should make the school for 7th & 8th only since its too crowded. Moved schools . now currently going to a school in Arizona .. better education , less fights , Good staff , less students..

This School Sucks And No One Listens To The Kids; We have to fight our wayy through crowds and get beat up for speaking our minds i got sick of it and just said screw it i am glad i am out of this school and entering high school it will be alot better for me, Good Luck To Incoming 6th Graders; Youl Need It.
