The staff at this school is amazing, they just need to replace the principal with the Vic principal and then the school would probably be a great school.

There is a lot of bulling that is over looked and not taken care of unless a parent complains about it.

The principal seems like she does not want to be there at all and is very rude to parents and passive with the students. The Vic Principal should be in charge.

The staff that deals with special needs students is excellent. I have a daughter who has an IEP and they helped her as much as they could before she moved on to middle school.

Students are recognized for differences and appropriately provided skills to enhance learning.
Would also recommend a buddy-system, whereby a student-mentor provide additional guidance in work assignments or projects, AND protect against play-yard bullying or teasing.

Good policies; administrators and teachers reinforce policies.
(Need more enforcement on play-yard)

Extremely pleased with the school's environment and staff.
I wouldn't have my grandson in any other school in DHS - Go Bulldogs!

Bella Vista is a "no-homework" school. Although this is student-friendly, I believe there should be periodic student targeted homework assignments. This is true since our test scores are lower than the average.

Last year's 2nd grade did not enforce the daily calendar policy. Teachers should be monitored, as well as students. (Note: this teacher retired last year)
My experience with K, 1, 2 & 4 teachers have been very good, so I disagree with the earlier comnent posted - majority of teachers are not lazy, they are caring and make an effort to assist all student needs.

School has several student level policies concerning integrity, no-bullying and compassion toward others, regardless of differences.
Would, however, recommend tighter no-bullying on play yard.

I am very proud to have my son at Wenzlaff school. The school has been improving every year. Even though the teachers change each year, those at the school are great. I am very pleased with my son's progress. I feel he is safe and learning.
