The experience is so discounted. Not really sure why the school is even allowed to be in the business

We had to pull my nephew out due to bullying . The staff and principle are not helpful at all.

This is the worst school in the district. Mainly because the admin has no clue what they are doing. I have emailed the AD several times and have never received a call back. The school does not care about the students. The principal is so far removed from everything she has no idea what is going on. I am pulling my child out at the end of the semester and transferring to the MVUSD. No support for female sports at all.

It is hard to review a school, because a school is made of so many elements, primarily teachers. So my review for teachers is overall good. My daughter is about to finish her senior year, so I have know the school for a while. She had many AMAZING teachers, others just ok. But never bad teachers.
This school belongs to a district where kids with special needs struggle. IEPs and the likes, are not their priority and there is a LOT of negligence when it comes to testing students that clearly need help. So keep that in mind if your child is in this category.
Performing arts struggle badly financially, the sports are what shines in the school. This High School has the smallest performing arts venue in the city, it is tiny and old. They do not have some programs that ARE available at other high school in the city (like Culinary Arts).
The staff is mediocre at best (attendance, (un)welcome center, security. The welcome center specially is rude and bad tempered, ...nothing welcoming about the place where you or the kids go for help or answers.
I believe TVHS is a much better choice in town.

I was in lots of AP classes and tons of clubs and held multiple club leadership positions, so I personally felt that the school was overall very nice and supportive. The teachers are very helpful and most of them are more than willing to help if you ask for it. Meaningful bonds were easier to form between students and teachers when students were willing to go the extra mile asking for help and guidance. It's even better when you join clubs and know more people personally. The school had a bit of a drug problem, but it's certainly gotten better over the years I was there. Competition could be intense if you're ranked top 10 of the class, but otherwise, it was pretty chill. Some teachers might appear nonchalant about their students at first, but once you get to know them, you will like them a lot. Overall, if you're a go-getter and a hard worker, you will succeed here just fine. Football games are highly encouraged to go to.

Horrible administration. If you are not a football player you are ignored and treated poorly. Girl's sports are a joke to the AD. Transferring at the end of the semester to go play for MV. This school is a joke to say the very least.

Chaparral was a big step up from the previous school my oldest attended in San Diego. He absolutely loved the classes, school spirit and numerous clubs and made so many friends in a short time. Fast forward 4yrs my third child at Chap will be graduating next year. We have had nothing but great experience here! My youngest always had average grades but the past couple years has excelled academically and it's all because of the great teachers. All my boys talk about their favorite teachers and they love running into them at sports games and hearing that they tell my youngest to tell them "hi". We know what a special school Chap is because of where we came from.

As a member of the CHS cheer team I feel it is my duty to share my story. Cheerleading has been pretty much ignored by administration for the past 3 years I have attended Chap. Chap had various cheer coaches over the years that would last a season at most. My freshman year we had our coach leave us with 3 days notice. Enter our current coach. She has held this program together with her dedication, love, and creativity. She coached us during covid and all of the years after. She is ALWAYS there for us. She has so much patience for us and we have all learned soooo much. I do not know where we would be with out her guidance. Our AD has decided to fly the Varsity coach position for reasons he will tell no one about. We are sad, confused, and feel defeated. I know if someone else is our coach they will leave within a few months or make us miserable. How can an AD who knows nothing about our program do this to us? So my warning... if you want to come to this school....don't. They do not care about any of us.

Athletic director is a dictator who is trying to ruin my daughter and her friends cheer program. I have sent multiple emails that he refuses to answer. Both the AD and the Principal are clueless about how much work goes into a year round program. All of the girls are highly upset due to the fact coaching and the program is up in the air. Bad decisions, bad leadership. Do better Chaparral.

If I could give 0 stars I would based on simply the athletic director. His incompetence has compromised the CHS cheer program! Not only is he ruining the foundation of our program but he is sabotaging the team from inside out. We have the best cheer coach and there is a chance we could loose her to another school due to his gross mismanagement. Hes never even gone to any of my daughters stunt matches and so my question is how does he even know how the program operates?! Hes disengaged and offers no feedback in fact hes absent. I witnessed the girls last game tonight and it broke my heart to see them crying their eyes out with the thought of loosing their committed, loving, and irreplaceable coach. Instead of replacing coaches we should be replacing the athletic director.

We moved to Temecula in 2013 so my kids could be in the TVUSD. Coming from Hemet this district is a big step up. The over-all quality of education and accountability they offer to kids and parents is far better than our last school district. My daughter has attainder Chap for 2 years now and her younger sibling will start next year. Chaparral is celebrating its 25th anniversary and the entire campus is being updated and renovated this summer.

The amount of homework and classwork you receive depends on the teacher,if the teacher is lazy they will send out worksheets and homework pages just to make sure you're busy but it all depends on the teacher.

As an athlete and student, fairness does need to be shown in sports, coaches do not show respect for you they lay you down and make you work hard even though you don't need to because you will probably be sitting out anyways, my water polo coach as of this year does not care about the importance and passion you have for the sport, he wants you to be a practice and never late, he does not care that you have loads of homework and AP exams to study for, he wants you to be at practice and stay up late at night doing work, he is the reason I will be staying out of school sports and only joining club. The honesty Chaparral advertises is phony, we care about you, your present matters to us,we will help you succeed. You have to be lucky to get the teachers who care about your success, the ones who want to help. Believe me there are teachers at Chap who are lazy and rude, who just accept that you're failing and who send you away when you ask for help.

I'm currently a sophomore at Chaparral, as a personal opinion,Chaparral is one of the worst school I have attended, there is very few staff who care about your present, who actually interact with you and put a smile on your face.I'm in 3 sports at Chaparral, lacrosse, swim and water polo,I joined Water polo last year,my first year, the coaches were former players and picked favorites, not saying that Chaparral is the only school with this problem, I was never put in and I thought school sports would show some equal sportsmanship but I guess I was wrong, most athletes would agree and feel the same way. I did attend Murrieta Mesa last year for 4 months because I live close and loved the environment, every student and staff made you feel welcomed but and I enrolled into Chaparral because my best friend goes to Chap and she said "it's an amazing school, you will love it, our football games are amazing and everyone gets along well" she was wrong,Chaparral is not an amazing school and I regret leaving Mesa and enrolling into Chaparral. I'm sorry to say but I will not be attending Chaparral next year.

Very solid environment. Every school has its ups and downs but Chaparral does its best to smooth stuff out.The teachers are caring and do a good job encouraging the students. Mrs. Trout, english, and Mr. Ford social studies really seem to go the extra mile. My daughter struggles at times, but the teachers and administration are very supportive. Great School.

Chapparel High: I raised my granddaughter from when she was a baby, she is now turning 15 in September and entering the 10 grade. I did extensive reaearch on different schools in the town that she would be living which is Temecula, Calif. I will not be moving with her because her dad (who is my son Tom) married a woman who lives in Temecula and he plans on moving there with my granddaughter so that he could have some time to be with her before she becomes an adult. I found the Temecula School far outrated the other schools, they are diverse, had great reviews and high ratings. I will be keeping in touch with the school and her progress but I feel very confident with this school. Thank you Liz Schafer
