I highly advise against enrollment at this school. The negative environment, combined with the hostile attitudes of both the faculty and the student body, is causing many students to experience depression, irritability, and behavioral shifts. Furthermore, the campus is prone to violence, with physical altercations breaking out frequently over trivial matters.Safety and sanitation are also major issues; the school restrooms are chronically moldy, unsanitary, and subjected to severe vandalism involving menstrual products stuck to the walls and ceilings. Unfortunately, the staff appears completely indifferent to these conditions. Teachers consistently ignore the rampant use of profanity in their presence. I strongly discourage sending a child here unless you want them subjected to an unhealthy and unsafe atmosphere.

As a student who has been attending this school for 2 years, It’s been tough for my fellow peers. Sanitary conditions are very dirty and teachers have some to little resources to use. It’s overall a cramped school and fights are common among the higher-respected students and some staff look miserable doing their job. Along with that, there’s a new principal who changed much of the rules I and many of my friends were okay with, making it uncomfortable staying 6 hours within the campus. Some fights have gone to the extreme where students involved would use personal weapons, making a few people I believe to be sent to Juvenile. Although this may sound dangerous, the school still has a reliable learning system and some teachers are bearable to be around. Fights only happen among the students with an higher reputation so most students have not experienced bing assaulted. Electives have enough to keep students satisfied and I myself do not hate the school. If you are planning to send your child to this school, I suggest to consider other middle schools before resorting to here. Otherwise, I feel like they could bear coming here.

Last year, I was extremely apprehensive about enrolling my daughter in this school due to the negative reviews I had read approximately a year prior. Additionally, I was aware that my daughter is a well-behaved, sports-oriented, and A-student. However, I am confident that the school is on the right track under the leadership of the new principal, who hailed from San Diego. I am particularly interested in witnessing enhancements to the school's patio, office, and play areas. I am grateful for your continued efforts to ensure that this institution is a secure environment for my daughter to complete her three-year education before transitioning to the high school level.

Cristhyan

Coming from a student of two years, this place is genuinely the main reason I don't want to wake up in the morning anymore. Many staff members are rude and dismissive towards students, especially office staff. I'm almost certain incident reports are never actually reviewed. The school looks like it's been abandoned for at least a year, mold grows on the water fountains, it's disgusting. There's much more I could say, but I'll wrap it up by saying don't send your children to this school, please.

I had three students attend Margarita Middle School. The principal is awesome. He is very engaged and positive and welcomes parent involvement. We had amazing teachers at this school. My three kids enjoyed middle school at MMS. There were a number of activities and after school help along with enrichment programs.

We moved here last year in the middle of the school year and my sons IEP team was very proactive and attentive to all my sons needs. They pushed is reassessment up so we could plan his last year of middle school accordingly to prep for high school. We had been in our last school district for eight years so this was a big deal for us. We went from knowing everyone to knowing no one. My son pretty quickly made some new friends. He says the principal is very kind and engaging. He has no complaints of any teachers or bullies. (our old district was full of bullies) The school is attentive to his health condition and takes it very seriously. So far I have no complaints for this school. I've enjoyed our experience.

Well, besides the parents ability to obey driving regulations on pickup and drop-off. That's for the entire district. The city needs to do something about the parents parking in red, parking in turn lanes, parking in the middle of the street to wait for their kids. It's dangerous and disappointing that so many parents have complete disregard for the rules of driving. The police could make bank on the amount of tickets they could hand out during school pickup times.

Amazing faculty and staff! A warm, welcoming and positive environment, and very open to parent involvement, on any level they are available- - The PTSA here is the best!! Principal Mr. Legg goes above and beyond to be encouraging to the students and families - you will see him outside every morning greeting the kids with high fives as they arrive to school -
I am very happy with this school!!

Ms. Hayes was the best! She's the reason I sent my three kids through Margarita and I feel so fortunate that she was their principal. I'm not sure what will happen to Margarita without Ms. Hayes. My kids have moved past middle school but to lose Ms. Hayes is a blow to TVUSD. She's one of a kind and irreplaceable.

Readers be warned. The district just fired (3/17/15) their long time principal of this middle school, Mrs. Karen Hayes. Rumor is she was a released due to complaints from the Teachers Union representing as few as 4 disgruntled teachers. Expect her replacement to allow this small minority of disgruntled teachers to run wild. According to students, teachers, and parents speaking at the district meeting, these disgruntled teachers created a hostile campus that Mrs. Hayes was working to eradicate. The Teacher Union supported School Board removed her by a vote of 4 to 1, choosing their benefactor over the children. Bad years ahead for Margarita Middle School. Good Luck Mrs. Hayes, you will truly be missed.

Margarita is a great middle school. The administration really sets the tone for a great learning environment and is always looking for ways to help the students learn and grow. It's really a team effort at this school.

Outstanding leadership. Top test scores in Riverside County, three years in a row. Excellent advanced math classes taught by competent teachers. They send their students well prepared to compete in AP classes offered at the local High Schools. Highly recommended.
