Vail Ranch Middle School

Vail ranch middle school isn't recommended at all. My child was standing outside in the hot boiling sun, over 100 degrees Fahrenheit while the PE teacher checking students in to check out their locker was sitting in the shade. The students were forced to stay in the line just to check out their locker which they could’ve checked out on another day. The teachers promised to protect the students, yet they actually do the opposite. My daughter is sensitive to heat, specifically the sun since the air is humid and slightly suffocated her. She came home sick and her head was burning hot due to PE. All for checking out à locker.
Also, we had some busy family plans and trips, i work all the way in Los Angeles, lots of traffic. I barely get to see my daughter so I can’t help her with assignments usually. Her ELA teacher gave her an assignment that actually took hours for her, only for it to be canceled. She was stressed out since all teachers except her EXP teacher gave her assignments. She had already completed all but the ELA one wasn't easy to do, not because the assignment was difficult but because we were busy and she didn’t have as much time to do it. She has missed one of her most important camp projects just to finish her ELA assignment, only for it to be canceled. She came up to me saying that instead of collecting the assignment, she said that you can throw it away or keep it of course she kept it but it was certainly not worth it since she literally had to skip a comp just to do a assignment. The way some of her teachers get mad over a student forgetting something when they themselves cancel a whole project that takes hours.
The school lunch is so little, just such small amounts of food, my daughter starves everyday and I don’t have time to pack her lunch, she can cook but it takes time for her to cook. Meaning when she’s finished cooking school has already started and she’ll be late.
Please, if you want students to embrace you teachers, treat them nicely.

The staff and quality of education here is better than any other public middle school in all of Riverside County, and we have moved a lot. I have noticed many profiles of people disguised as students or parents within the Temecula Valley school district but are not. Also many bots programmed to give politically driven bad reviews for many Temecula schools, this is unfortunate as it really is an amazing school we & our children are lucky to have.

My issue with the school is the lack of follow through with accommodations for kids that require it by law and the lack of accountability for staff that treats children rudely

No one has left a review here in a while, so I want to leave a review to update people with more recent news on how this school is. TVUSD is a great school district and has a great curriculum. Vail Ranch, likewise, is a good school. There are good kids here, and the majority of teachers are pretty good. The principal, Mrs. Eisler is great and very kind to the students. As an 8th grader, I would proudly say that I go to Vail Ranch. However, there are some things that aren't the best about this school. For one, when I was in 6th grade I didn't really enjoy any of my classes much. But in 6th grade, I was new to the school and I was having trouble finding many friends at school. 8th grade is by far the best grade and 100% has the best teachers. Also I personally have not received much homework in my time here, but others I know have had a pretty heavy load. Overall a good school with pretty good teachers. A 3.5 out of 5 school in my opinion.

Vail Ranch has a very accepting culture and bullying is not tolerated. Vail Ranch teuly strives to have a team mentality that encourages all kids to stick together and support each other.

I am so pleased with Vail Ranch and feel very blessed to have had two kids attend Vail Ranch middle school and are now at GOHS, and we have one to attend soon.

If a student needs help they can get it at any time during the school day, before, or after school. The teachers and support staff make themselves available to help.

The teachers at Vail Ranch are interested in participating in the success of their students. The staff regularly attends training to further their education, training, and skills. Teachers from other sites also go to Vail Ranch to learn from the teaching staff which is a wonderful example of collaboration and willingness to share their expertise.

Vail Ranch does a lot of activities to help build bonds in and with the community, encouraging students to be responsible, compassionate members of society and striving to be their best for themselves and the good of all.

The meters of the administrative staff make themselves available to teachers, students, and parents. The principal is encouraging and supportive. Mr. Groepper is well-liked and respected and people enjoy working fir him and with him.

All three of our children have very different learning styles. Two of our children are on the autism spectrum. The staff at Vail Ranch- including the office staff, health clerk, cafeteria workers, custodians, teachers, librarian, counselors, administration, registrar, everyone- is so attentive, supportive, encouraging and understanding. My children succeeded and loved school partly because they knew they were safe and everyone involved was rooting for them.

I absolutely this school! Both of my daughters thrived at Vail Ranch MS. Quality teachers and helpful front office staff. I feel like their curriculum is challenging and prepares students for successful transition to high school. I highly recommend VRMS!

As A parent I find the quality of leadership and academics to be superior. Overall it has done well for students, faculty and parents alike. Despite Common Core implementation the teachers a finding creative ways to nurture the individual needs of the students.

We have 2 boys in this school and they love it! We have had Great teacher in 7th & 8th grade. All the students and staff are very friendly and helpful.

This school is horrible! Being a student of color I have been bullied and called many names at this school. The teachers are not very enthusiastic and the principal did not even care that a kid was smoking pot. If I could rate this school a 0 I would

Their history for the past few years speaks for itself? Then they are a shining example of the best middle school in Temecula! I have seen nothing but respectful students, teachers that go above and beyond, and a staff that is cohesive, motivated, and focused on teaching high standards and expectations. Needless to say, I am extremely impressed. My student loves every minute and every day and that is high praise coming from an 8th grade boy! And btw if you have something negative to say, then take proactive steps to turn it into a positive. That will help ALL the students!

I have an eighth grader and a sixth grader attending this school! We love Vail Ranch! The staff and students are great! The teacher really love this school and it shows !

Life is all about expectations, and for those that rate Vail Ranch poorly, they are the same people that are never happy about anything -- they have unrealistic expectations. They are the people that will always support their own kids poor judgements/decisions, instead of supporting the teachers in maintaining a proper learning environment in their classrooms. Folks, look at the school budget. More kids with less money = more students per teacher. Why don't you try to teach a classroom full of 35 kids with different needs? Why don't you help out and volunteer in your kids' classrooms? With my experiences, my 7th grade son is small for his age, and he has learning issues. Incredibly, he has never been bullied by anyone. The Principal, Vice Principal, and all his teachers always go out of their way to accomodate his "personal" issues. Of course my expectation was that they would recommend him to leave the school, so the test scores could remain high. However, the opposite has occured, and all his teachers really care about him getting past his weaknesses. I look forward to my 5th grade daughter attending Vail Ranch, as she will help raise the average test scores!

I too am very disappointed with this school. We really liked the elementary school our daughter attended, so we had high hopes for middle school. Some of the teachers here are good, but many are below standard. The administration is rude and seem annoyed and could care less about parent concerns. This school does not challenge students and does not offer any type of programs or accomodations for students who want to excel. I feel sorry for the children who attend because they have to deal with the rude staff and innapropriate, unprofessional teachers. One teacher in particular even tells her students to 'shut-up' however the principal seems content with the behavior and acted irritated about parent concerns regarding this matter. This school has good potential,but needs effective management and quality staff. If we could afford private school we would pull our daughter out of there immediately. After reading the other reviews and speaking with other moms whose children attend VRMS my concerns and dismay is shared. Very unfortunate for the students.
