I currently attend school here , and have now for my freshman , and sophomore year, the school has it days but other than that consists on being there worst school I've ever been to, the teachers belittle you if you aren't an avid learner of their teaching, and the security guards , along with some teachers enjoy cursing at our with students , also I asked politely for them not to cut down a palm tree that was growing freely , the next day the palm tree was gone

My child went here and he has blossomed from shy to outgoing. He has had always been bullied but at this school he want a target no one was. He had many friends and he wasn't afraid. This school is amazing!

Students don't have lockers, they must carry everything. It's messy, there's constantly garbage on campus. Most of the 11th grade Avid students (the expected "better" students) have been in Avid for 2 or more years and don't know what college they want to go to or what A-G's are. There's bullying and harassment everywhere, including the locker rooms. Fights break out often. The dress code is not enforced, girls especially don't dress appropriately (ex: cropped, see through, open-back tank tops with their bra very visible). Students grind on each other (and worse stuff) at dances, the teachers/staff just let it happen right in front of them. Students over use foul language, even more than the "acceptable" amount for teens. Students in P.E. never actually exercise, they walk around and talk and will even only "try" doing something if the coach is looking. All dances are poorly planned and made, they're in the gym, so it's already a cheesy, ugly place to start with. Parents are rarely involved in anything. Fund raising ideas and income are poor, the school barely has money for teachers, books, and computers. School buses are late and break down often. TPJHS is most of all of this too.

This is by far the best school in the Morongo Basin. They have gotten high honors for academics and athletics. The teachers are great and the staff is friendly. I have put three kids through TPHS.

The staff at this school are disgusting! They don't seem to care about their students, unless they are into sports and are part of the "in crowd". Your student is being set up to fail in life. Extremely sad. The kids are pretty decent kids, but sadly they are left behind. The counselors are not there to help the students, they are there to collect their paycheck. Your child must fill out an appointment request to speak with a counselor, there are no emergencies, they will get to it when they get to it, sometimes even a week will pass. If your child is being harrassed or bullied, the school will not do anything to protect this child.It is extremely heartbreaking that these students suffer due to neglectful staff. I finally had move my kids out of the area to give them a fair chance at an education.My advice, be involved and keep an eye out for teachers that are there to collect a paycheck!

Personally, this school is good but not great. Most of the "important" things are the sports. There are close to 40 kids in each class and if you're not someone who can actually teach themselves it can be hard. Myself personally am an advanced student except in math and it's not the schools fault but i do wish that there were teachers who knew how to teach their subject (they know it but cannot teach it well). True there is a lot of extracurriculars but like i have said before revoles around sports. Those who excel in academics do not get recognized basically ever. The dress code is not enforced which really stinks because personally i don not like seeing guys boxers and girls in shorts so short that they actually show their butts and do not cover a thing. Its not a horrible school but it could use some big improvements.
