Both of our sons attended St. John’s from ages 2–5 (Pre-K), and we absolutely LOVED our experience—the teachers, the classrooms, and the community. We wholeheartedly recommend St. John’s to any family looking for a warm and inspiring early education.

The teachers not only made our boys feel loved and accepted, but they also sparked a genuine love of learning through creativity and care. Years later, our sons still talk about their favorite lessons on dinosaurs, fossils, steam engines, solar energy, the human body, and so much more. They were captivated by mystery readers, hands-on science projects, art, and classroom adventures that truly stayed with them.

Beyond the classroom, St. John’s offered countless enriching opportunities—special events, field trips, guest speakers, and even visiting authors (yes, all in the ELC!). These experiences made learning exciting and memorable while fostering curiosity and confidence.

We are so grateful for the foundation St. John’s gave our children, and we couldn’t imagine a better place to begin their educational journey.

My son attended St. John’s ELC for 2 years and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The school is welcoming and safe. Every teacher has been easy to communicate with and helpful in all aspects. The administration was kind and each to work with. This was the first time we navigated the Denver Preschool Program and the staff went out of their way to explain how it works and what they needed from us. St. John’s is a wonderful school that is wrapped around a lovely community. We are so grateful for the 2 years our son has at St. John’s and would recommend to anyone.

I would highly recommend the ELC at St Johns. We have been here many years with our kids and feel they have come away well cared for and taught with both play and respect. I appreciate the creativity and fun that has come with their learning, as well as the attention to details, the value of rhythms and even they way they have been clear and communicative when conflict or injury's arise. Thank you St Johns for nurturing my kind learners.

We spent 10 years at St. John's with our two kids, one going 1 - 8 and the other K - 8. We could not imagine having a better experience for our kids. Throughout their entire elementary and middle school lives we always felt our kids were safe, loved, and nurtured as their individual selves. They were challenged and excelled academically and were well prepared ultimately for High School. They participated in the extracurricular activities and made friends they will have for their entire lives. The teachers are deeply caring about the students with very few exceptions. If we ever had a concern or a question we were able to address it directly. We feel so blessed to have been referred to St. John's and that they had space available all those years ago.

We were new to St. John's for Middle School. The faculty and Middle School Advisor was an absolute blessing! Our son felt seen and heard, challenged in academics, and encouraged all along the way. I tell everyone to have their child attend school here because of the student to teacher ratio, academics, and amazing community.

Our experience at St. John’s started off positively. The academics are stronger than what we experienced in public school, and I initially felt welcomed. The school also puts on many big shows and ceremonies that make a strong impression. However, over time, I began to feel that much of this was more about appearances than substance. I became aware of some troubling incidents that were either downplayed or not addressed. I also witnessed situations where students were mistreated, and when I reported them, I felt the response lacked transparency and accountability. These experiences made me question the environment, safety and trust. I believe it’s important for any school to be open and honest when serious issues arise, rather than focusing on maintaining a perfect image.

We’ve had two children graduate from St. John’s 8th grade and two more currently enrolled, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the foundation this school has provided. Our oldest just graduated from a very academically demanding high school with a 4.55 GPA—thanks in large part to the preparation and support she received at St. John’s. Our older kids built lasting friendships here, and our younger ones are thriving both socially and academically. The faculty and staff are exceptional, the field trips and service projects help shape well-rounded students, and the focus on both school and personal safety gives us peace of mind. We’re especially excited about the upcoming middle school opportunities for one of our children next year!

I am very grateful to St. John’s School because it has been a second home to my two daughters. They have learned a lot academically and have continued to grow in their love for God. The teachers and staff are loving, kind, and very dedicated; they demonstrate Christian values on a daily basis. The community of parents is a great blessing as well. St. John’s is an excellent school for children, who learn what the teachers model. The educators there treat kids with respect, and children strive to learn from people they respect. My daughters enjoy being at St. John’s, having good friends, excellent teachers, and learning in a loving, Christian community.

St. John's truly is the perfect fit for our daughter. She attends the ELC, and every morning when she walks in, she is greeted by name and with such warmth and love. She feels comfortable to start conversations with the office staff, which is saying a lot for a strong willed three year old. After just a week or two into the school year, my husband and I were amazed when our daughter suddenly came home singing all sorts of new songs and could recite all of the months of the year. She has flourished academically due to her teachers' expertise and dedication. She ADORES all of her teachers and it usually takes us at least ten minutes to say goodbye each day as she wants to talk with them and genuinely loves them. I also appreciate the communication from leadership and teachers. I know exactly what was covered in class each day, which I treasure as a parent. It enriches our conversations at home as my husband and I talk with our daughter about her day. The teachers provide wonderful opportunities for parent involvement throughout the year. My favorite this year was the Lunch with Littles where parents could come into the classroom to eat with their child. It was a joy to see how our daughter interacts with her classmates during the school day, and it gave us a greater appreciation for her teachers and all that they do for our daughter. The last thing I will mention is the wonderful way in which the school connects all of its students, from the ELC to eighth grade. The middle schoolers will read to the younger students, play with them, and run face painting booths during school events, just to name a few. Our daughter has really connected with some sixth grade girls at the school, and it means the world to her. They are wonderful role models and make her feel so special. I love that it gives them important responsibilities in looking out for others, and I look forward to the day when my daughter will be able to do the same thing for someone else. There is no other place quite like St. John's School, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is searching for a school that is so well rounded.

When I went to this school the teachers were excellent in 1st-4th grade , but once I went into 5th grade that's when it all changed. The teacher didn't really care about the students all they cared about was the students grades and getting paid. If you were falling behind in a subject well good luck to the student because there was no support, and if there was than the parents would have to pay that specific teacher money and that was on top of the tutition fee as well. There was a lot of bullying 5th-8th grade and teachers wouldn't even do nothing about it. They didn't care about the students mental health at all. If your kid has depression or anxiety they won't get any support at all. Especially if a student has special needs than kiss that education gone because they didn't have the proper tools to deal with them. The teachers would get overwhelmed even with 24-26 kids in a room. They couldn't handle that big of a class, and there were no supports for them if the teacher needed help. I remember that my art teacher almost quiet her job because of how disruptive the class was.

Both my children attended St. Johns from Kindergarten through 8th grade. They both went on to Valor. My daughter graduated in the top of her class and got a full ride scholarship to a private college. They both received a solid foundation at St. Johns.

Have 2 children in the Early Learning Center currently. The teachers and Director are exceptional. Kids love going to school and are always in a happy mood when I pick them up. Staff instills kindness and compassion towards others which is key for me at their current ages. Oldest child is well prepared to start Kindergarten this fall ... and because of such a good experience at St Johns, will continue at St Johns rather than public school a block from our house. This school has been a real blessing for my kids and me too!

At 45 yrs old, I reflect back on the change agents that fostered success in my life. One of my best education experiences was attending St. John's Academy under the tutelage of Ms. Selby, an innovative and motivated teacher who removed the shackles and limitations for me to excel at my own pace. As the daughter of two classically trained musicians, I moved around the country and attended numerous schools. I only attended one year for 6th grade, but I was allowed to work at my own pace and for several subjects it was on 8th grade level. I pray that the school continues providing exceptional educational and creative innovations and extend my utmost gratitude to the school and to Ms. Selby, wherever she may be today!

The ELC and K-5 school is excellent! I cannot say enough about those teams. Very caring and loving. However, after attending the middle school as well, you may want to keep your options open at that time. The middle school staff, all but a few, have a very difficult time maintaining control and are very quick to blame the parents. A few teachers clearly cannot handle more than 10 students and are easily overwhelmed. 6-8 grades are typically around 20 students. Either the teachers are not receiving the help they need or they are not able to multi-task and the communication with parents is lacking until something is "wrong", that is the time you hear from the teachers. Not when your student is doing well, but when they are lagging behind in a class or disrupt a class. My kid would always check his grades, but at times the teacher would not keep grades current and therefore his grade would drop. Anyway, loved ELC and K-5, but keep an open mind for middle school. By the way, the after school care program is top notch!!

My daughter is receiving an excellent, well-rounded education at St. Johns. It is small enough that she receives individualized attention in a supportive, enthusiastic and caring environment but big enough to give her wonderful opportunities for growth. The academics are outstanding. She is performing well above grade level. Class sizes are small and teachers are well-prepared. Technology is utlized extensively throughout the school. The communication from the teachers is thorough and timely. We have been there 3 years and have experienced no turnover among teachers or administrators. An education of this caliber would cost thousands of dollars more elsewhere.

Our children have been enrolled at St Johns for two years now in the ELC and cannot say enough wonderful things about the school, its teachers and the entire community. If you're looking for a place where your children can feel safe, nurtured and challenged academically all in a loving environment then St. Johns is worth a look. There is no greater feeling for a parent than knowing that while you cannot be with them they are in the most trusted of hands. We love St. Johns!!!

Walk through the halls of St. John's during a school day and you will feel the nurturing, caring environment that exists there. Our children LOVE going to school! They are reading books well above grade level. They are filled with an excitement for life, love, friendship and learning. We've had our children in other schools prior to enrolling them in St. John's, so this is written with much school experience (private and public). In the 2012 Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS) St. John s tested in the 97th percentile nationally! But, St. John s goes beyond teaching subjects; this school, inside and out, is filled with love, compassion, generosity and integrity.

My daughter is in the first grade and we love it. The teachers are really caring and the curriculum while challenging is age appropriate. Sometimes it is difficult to get all the work in on time, but her teacher is really understanding and helpful. They do ask for a parents to be involved, but they understand that it has to work around your life so they give you lots of different ways to do it.

St. John's has been a great place for my kids in both the Early Leaning Center (18 months old-Pre-K) and elementary school (grade K-8). The Lutheran foundation coupled with the full breadth of academic subjects (including music, art, computers, spanish, reading, and others) has provided my kids with a well-rounded educational environment. We have appreciated the small classroom sizes as well! I always highly recommend St. John's Lutheran School to anyone with children from the age of 18 months to 8th grade.

The only weakness i can spot is lack of extra-curricular activities for the younger students. Otherwise, our experience has been fantastic! Truly a nurturing and loving environment based on a faith-focused education. Our daughter is reading at levels 3-4 grades above her current grade, wonderful! And the Iowa test scores for the entire school...can't get much better!!!

St. John's offers a fantastic educational experience, paying attention to all aspects of a student's development. Our child has not just excelled academically but she has acquired a strong sense of who she is and how to best relate to others. We are thrilled with the wonderful young woman St. John's is helping us develop. You cannot find a better Christian education in Denver!

Excellent academics, strong community, real attention to individual learning styles and developmental goals. The teachers provide regular feedback on student progress and are very available. The curriculum is excellent. The children receive strong values education and guidance in conflict resolution and leadership skills. St. John's is a caring place with strong leadership.

We were very sad to have left St. Johns but could not handle the disruptions. It is amazing how much happier our son is at his new school!

We recently pulled our child from the school...... too much disruption with teachers leaving. The difference in ambiance and energy at her new school struck us immediately and we now get daily reports about her activities, something we were not receiving at St John's. She also has connected with 2 other classmates from St John's!
