i have found that this school, at least for the K-1st grade area is lacking in so many ways. the teaching staff have no idea what they are doing with early childhood development or educations, and expect 5 year olds to not have energy and to just sit down, shut up, and focus all day. as an adult i can barely sit through a meeting at work, and they expect these kids to do it all day. it has been 100% proven that sitting all day is not good for kids, and they need to be more hands on and interactive in order to learn, and the schools still seem to push the sit down and shut up or you are a bad kid who needs to be drugged narrative.

My first son who went there got the same treatment, and now he is in middle school and doing fine aka he grew up. now they are saying the same exact thing about my youngest. i talked to other parents and they are getting the same emails, especially the little boys.

the staff here lie constantly, and their punishments are extremely inappropriate for their age group with no thought on the child's psyche or social growth and development. i would say that their middle school is decent, but overall, the early childhood stuff is extremely terrible.

I recently had a friend ask about frontier because she didn’t see any updated recent reviews about the school and wanted to know if it was worth looking in the neighborhood to move so their kids could attend since they are struggling at their cherry creek school. I’m not a review writer but figured that it’s important to have updated info out there since schools change all the time. I only have younger kids so I can’t give any review for older grade levels but I can say that my child is in 1st grade this year and it has been the most amazing school experience. Kindergarten was a tough transition (for her and me!) and I was worried that 1st grade would be a battle daily but instead she wants to be at school every day. She has Ms. Miller and in the morning when they’re line up they talk about her like she hung the moon. They seem excited to be there and talk about everything they have learned and what they hope they get to learn today. After school all I hear about is what they did today and what Ms. Miller did or what Ms. Tracy did or what Ms. Post did or what Ms. Lecomp did. It’s a relief to see your kid love school and it was a huge fear of mine that she wouldn’t do well. I can’t believe how much she has learned this year and the work that she is bringing home. You hear about schools where the kids aren’t learning but I can tell that the kids are learning and hearing from the other parents they see the same in their kids.

Frontier is a good school that cares about the kids outside of just their grades. It’s obvious the teachers and Mr. Gasior know the kids. The teachers are smiling and happy not only at the beginning of the day but also at the end. I can’t imagine my kids going anywhere else because I know the people there know and care about my kids.

Overall it is a great school. In 5 years have had very few issues and I see both of my children growing a learning in a healthy supportive environment.

Aurora Frontier is a great! Fantastic teachers! I love the diversity and the quality of families in the neighborhood. My kids love their school!

Frontier is probably one of the best schools in APS. Teachers are great. Very engaged with students. Very good programs for all levels of education. Definitely like the atmosphere around the school too. It's in a great neighborhood if you can find a house for sale. They sell quick, because of the school quality.

This school is a disgrace. The bullying goes on endlessly with no punishment to the bully. My child has a broken arm (broken in several places) because of this incessant bullying. He is a special needs child who has already gone through enough without being tortured by his classmates. If you have a child with any sort of special needs or an IEP, steer clear of this school! I wish I could go back in time and move into Cherry Creek school district just a few months sooner. It is a mistake I have made that I will regret for the rest of my life.

My son is currently in his 3rd year at Aurora Frontier and only one teacher at the school has ever been truly inspirational to him. The others were focused on nit-picking his performance to where he has no desire to attend. On preliminary testing last year he scored above the 90th percentile for the gifted, creative and talented program, but the teachers and administration have failed to appropriately address this even after we made several inquiries. To this date we still have not received a definitive answer regarding his placement in the program. Communication from the teachers this year has been well below expectations regarding homework. And one teacher gave the impression of being irritated when I called with questions about my sons homework assignment. The administration's actions on bullying are ridiculuos. When my son chose to defend himself last year from a bully, the dean of students told us that our son should have remained a victim. If actions are any indication of this rating, we are in the process of finding a better school.

I think it's a good school. The people are friendly and professional. I do have a problem with some of the parents of 'bussed-in' kids, though. I have been there a few times when these parents would get confrontational with the staff. The staff did all they could to de-escalate the situation but some parents would just be threatening and harassing the staff. Other than that, I believe the people at Aurora are good people who truly care for the children in their care. I came from CA and have seen other schools in action and these people, especially a 'Ms. Irma', have the patience of saints and hearts as big as Colorado. If she is any example, I have to say the staff, teachers and administrators are doing a great job! Also, I'd like to mention 'Ms. Kim'. She also has a sweet personality and appears quite competent.
