I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school and the dedication of the staff and teachers. My daughter was set up for academic success through the hard work, extra hours, and commitment of staff. It is easier to educate kids who are already set up for success in their families. Charter schools and magnate schools rely on this for their reputations. It is completely different to work with the local community with all of its cultural and economic diversity, and still produce academically successful kids who are passionate about learning. I will forever be grateful for this school.

We moved here from another state where my daughter was in an International Baccalaureate World school. Originally, I wanted her in a magnet or charter program, but we missed the cut off for School Choice, so we were "stuck" with our assigned school.

I am SO glad we were. My daughter has THRIVED at Cimarron, and loves going to school. Gone are the days I had to fight with her to go to school. My rising fourth grader reads at an EIGHTH GRADE level!

I came from a school that used a stop light form of discipline, that only negatively reinforced the students for misbehavior. Cimarron's P.R.I.D.E. initiative really helps the kids think positively about themselves and others, and the fact that they use ONLY positive reinforcement for behavioral modification makes me very happy. The teachers at Cimarron are trained to positively reward the good behavior they expect from their charges.

Class sizes are small and the atmosphere of community is very evident all over the school. It has many extracurricular activities to choose from: too many for one child to do them all! They have choir, math club, science club, and athletics, and others I can't remember.

I am happy and proud to be a part of the Cimarron family.

The entire school uses their P.R.I.D.E. program, which stands for: Positivity, Respect, Inclusiveness, and Dedication to Excellence. It's reinforced daily.

I HIGHLY disagree with the last post. I have had nothing but professional, caring and curteous interactions with the principal and staff members at Cimarron. My kids love going to school here and I can tell that the teachers have meaningful relationships with students because my kids are always telling me about the special things their teachers do for them and how important they feel. This school is AMAZING!

The principal at Cimarron Elementary School is extremely unprofessional and the staff needs a lesson in social contracts. This school has gone down hill.

Our journey at Cimarron is on its 15th year between our three children. We have had such a wonderful time with the whole Cimarron Community. I volunteered to be the President of the PTCO and held that position for two years. That job gave me such wonderful insight to how things were run at Cimarron. I had the opportunity to work closely with the teachers and I was able to see the passion they had for their work and for their students. The fact that teachers have come to graduations and important family events has meant the world to us. So much so my daughter attended UNC for her Bachelor degree in Elementary Education. She returned to Cimarron to do her student teaching right along the very same teachers who taught her. The teachers and staff there welcomed her and shared their knowledge, experience, and love for teaching with her. She is now a teacher at Cimarron and we are all just so happy for her. She feels so valued and respected and loves teaching there! It takes a special school and staff to foster an environment where a student wants to return to be a teacher and we are forever grateful for our time there. Go Mustangs!!!!!!

This is my first year teaching here at Cimarron Elementary School in Aurora and I could not be more pleased to be part of such an amazing community of students, staff and parents! From my very first day on it was clear to me that the principal has worked extremely hard and diligently at creating a warm and welcoming culture where all individuals feel both comfortable and respected. I continue to discover new ways in which Cimarron's mission to inspire and nurture lifelong learning; every heart, every mind, every day is being achieved and this has become a continuous reminder for me of the wonderful place I now belong!

My children are both very happy at this school. I feel like Cimarron offers advanced learning opportunities to children who need them, which keeps them from getting bored easily. They break children up into an array of learning groups (levels 1-9) for both specialized reading and math which caters to each child's needs. The teachers are invested in their students' growth, and I see that in their weekly reports. This school cares about my kids!

I am a teacher at Cimarron, and I love it! It is truly an atmosphere that fosters growth, accountability, and a team of professionals that want nothing except to make an everlasting, positive difference in each and every student. Cimarron goes above and beyond to make all staff members, students, and families feel part of a safe, inclusive community of learners! We have an outstanding principal, who gives us access to many professional development opportunities which enables us to teach our future! Diana is truly an exceptional principal, who cares about each member of the Cimarron community. It is refreshing and reassuring to be in such a positive environment under the leadership of someone who has a vision that makes Cimarron a very unique, comforting, and safe to teach! I am proud to say that I work at Cimarron and that if I had children, I would want me children to experience their journey in elementary school at Cimarron, where every student matters.

My son has been attending Cimarron since first grade and is gearing up for 5th grade next year. Cimarron is truly an exceptional school that is the embodiment the Cherry School District motto To inspire every student to think, to learn, to achieve, to care. I see this from every staff member every time I am in the school. The entire staff cares deeply about every single student. I could write for days, but simply put Cimarron is a wonderful school with a staff that takes PRIDE in their work, takes action to ensure a truly inclusive and safe environment, and would be an excellent choice for any parent.

My child is currently a kindergarten student at Cimarron, and I am beyond impressed and honored to have such a wonderful, loving, educated, and kind teacher. I have volunteered, and it is so evident that teaching is her passion and that she will do anything to make a positive difference in the lives of her students. I would highly recommend this school to any parent who lives in this area or is looking for a school that has teachers that exhibit the utmost professionalism and best teaching practices.

Cimarron Elementary is a school that truly cares about each one of our students and each other. I have worked and volunteered at multiple schools and I am beyond impressed with and thankful to be at Cimarron. The principal, Diana Roybal, has created an atmosphere of academic excellence and personal care and support for each staff member, student, and adult who walks through our doors. I am proud to be a part of this outstanding Cimarron Elementary community!

There aren't enough words to say how AWESOME & INCREDIBLE Cimarron is! From the front office staff, principal, asst. principal, teachers, teachers aides, cafeteria staff, music, gym, art, tech teachers and to the building engineer - I know my grandchildren are learning and are cared about. Here are just a few examples: *The end of day bell rang. The teacher continued to teach and the kids stayed because of her love of teaching and the kids love for learning. *Even though the teacher has a whole classroom of kids she makes each student feel that they are special and important and that they are at grade level in learning. *The kids come home singing songs from music or have art project they created. *A student was leaving the school the teacher fixed his hat so he would be warm and that he left the school with the person listed who has permission to pick him up. You can't teach someone to care, to give, to love, and go above and beyond for each student. Cimarron does this from their hearts. There is no other school I want my kids to be at. Each of my grandchildren have come as a caterpillar and the teachers help them become beautiful butterflies! Thank you!!!

There are many things that make Cimarron an excellent school and a place where I'm happy to go for my work everyday. The principal is very hard-working and an effective leader. However, what I appreciate most about her is her heart for this community. In regards to the staff, they are a very hard-working caring group of people who exhibit excellence in their teaching instruction. Finally, I have had the opportunity to know many of the parents of children here. Many of them are exceptional people with a real heart for their family's education.

For the past few years, one goal at this amazing elementary school has been to provide students with books, books and more books! The incredible principal allocated funds to supply every classroom library with a $1000.00 worth of new books. Cimarron students are also able to access a book room where they can select books to take home and keep! The students at Cimarron are swimming in books. The culture of the school is all about promoting literacy and life long readers!

For the first time in his school career, my son is challenged and happy at school. He was in another district for K-4, and I was given opportunity to enroll him at Cimarron for 5th grade. I could not be happier! Finally, he is getting the schooling he (and all children) deserve. His teachers are caring, dedicated, and professional. He has grown academically, socially, and emotionally while at Cimarron. He has even said, "This is the best school year I've ever had--and I'm not just saying that." Thank you to everyone at Cimarron!

This school had surprised me when we first began but soon realized its a teachers stick together kind of school. they seem to get away with anything here! They yell and bully our children without any consequences I'm not saying all teachers here are the same but I've seen a couple get away with a lot !!

We moved to the area at the beginning of the second semester. The teacher was sweet and I believe that she cared about the kids. There was no school work sent home so that we could see how our son was doing. They had pretty much no homework, and the same spelling test was repeated at least 3 time in the the last half of the year. The front office staff called my son "an inconvenience" and was very rude to us as parents. I was so glad when the year was over and we could get school of choice for the following year. If you have the option, go somewhere else.

I could not be more impressed by the skill, passion, and overall competence of the professionals who work with my child every day. I've seen her grow from someone who was anxious and had a difficult time focusing into a child who is confident and loves to learn. I'm very lucky to have found this diamond in the rough and it has convinced me that test scores tell a very small part of the story of what makes a school great.

I have six children, five of which have attended Cimarron . I hope my youngest ( she is 14 months old ) gets to go there also. I feel that the teachers really do care about my children and take an interest in them as people and not just students. My kids talk about their teachers almost everyday. Cimmarron is a school I love to recommend to other parents new in the neighborhood.

Over 70% of Cimarron s teachers hold a Master s Degree and have an average of 15 years teaching experience. Every year, teachers complete additional hours of graduate and professional training to stay current with the most recent research-based instructional techniques and curriculum. Teachers participate in weekly PLT (Professional Learning Teams) to plan data-informed instruction. Many of Cimarron s teachers are college professors, grant writers, and award recipients! I am honored to serve as principal of this great school where parents and teachers work together because we believe that IT TAKES A TEAM TO EDUCATE A CHILD!

The Cimarron teachers hold a Math Night and a Literacy Night. All families are invited to attend. Families receive free dinner and participate in workshops and presentation to learn how to support their child's academic success. Children leave with free books and math games. These nights are so informative and require a great deal of time and planning. Thank you teachers for including us parents in the educational programing at Cimarron.

I have been student teaching at Cimarron Elementary for the last two months and I can't even begin to express what an amazing place Cimarron Elementary School is. It is without question that this school has some of the most OUTSTANDING teachers and staff members in the state of Colorado. Teachers at Cimarron are not only highly experienced, but they are the most passionate and welcoming group of professionals that a child could ever ask for. The principal is also dedicated to maintaining a positive atmosphere where teachers and students alike can't wait to come to school every morning. Cimarron is such a positive place that is full of a diverse student population where learning is made fun and children are given many great opportunities.
