For the most part Summit does a good job. It's a little hit & miss with teachers from year to year, but I've one child graduate from Summit and another in 3rd grade and we've never had a bad teacher. Some teachers are just a better match for your student than others.
However, I'm knocking off a star because the school's recess policies are ridiculous. Way too much supervision and way too much restriction on the activities. When I went to school we just went and played at recess with no supervision unless we did something to warrant it. Now they have teacher aides watching over the kids at recess and the children are very restricted in what they can or can't do. My kid literally cannot run around at recess? They can't play competitive games? No tag?

Summit is a wonderful school. Please don't let the great school's ranking fool you. They have an incredible group of highly experienced teachers and a wonderful principal. You feel like part of the school as a parent when you walk in and are welcomed. My daughter has excelled academically at Summit. She is finishing 3rd grade and has attended since Kindergarten. She does the GT program and many clubs. They also have a wonderful ILC program for children who are in need of the assistance.

Summit is my school of choice. My son's been there since 2nd grade and I have loved ALL the teachers he had. The staff is amazing and they are all there to help your child. We chose Summit as our school. Before I enrolled my son at Summit I checked the schools, and Summit was the best one that we liked best. If you are looking for a challenge for your children, this is the place. My son is in choir, P.E., S.W.A.T., Art class, chess, Destination Imagination, Battle of the Books, Math Challenge... My son and I have loved it all.

I would disagree with the person who said it was not a place for Gt Students. I was put in the reading and writing Gifted and Talented Class in 4th to 5th Grade only last year. It was great and i have become and even better writer. I love Summit, great school, and teachers. Wonderful Principle.
