I feel very under supported at this school and the assistant principles hardly try to even listen to a student when they’re having issues with a teacher.

Many teachers here are passive aggressive and don’t take their students’ health into consideration when they are in the school. I repeatedly have to remind them about my 504 plan and other issues I have in my personal life, only to be met with no support, answer, not even a single teacher following my plan for me to attend this school. The counselors are pretty much the only people who care (depending on who you get).

Teachers get away with bullying their own students, and it’s never addressed or fixed. A band teacher here has serious bias that really takes a toll on people’s mental health to the point where me and a load of other students dropped band completely due to the teacher’s behavior. Don’t go here, it’s the worst.

In this school I really enjoyed the options for clubs and how welcoming they were as well as the selection of classes I had. However, I didn’t have the best experience with the methods of teaching and support from my teachers. The environment is also very stressful even the parking lot gave me a lot of anxiety as well as the useless regulations it came with. Overall I wish that there was more support for students and that they put more of an effort to/

I had a few amazing teachers here, and a few that spoiled everything. I was top 5% of my class, AP scholar with distinction, ended up going to a 'prestigious' college -- but I did so much of it on my own.

Especially in the English/History department certain teachers (not all) will gang up on students. The malicious teacher climate is by far the most pronounced in the English department. I had a friend of a friend tell me she walked into the office one day to get help (same English class) and my debate coach was saying horrible stuff about me with my English teacher. This was a frequent occurrence, especially with the debate coach, everyone on the debate team would talk about her choosing someone to hate and picking on them mercilessly. I ended up on the short end of the stick after several of the others on the team quit for that reason. There is no recourse that can be pursued against teachers like this, and it does really harm your mental health to be framed as a bad person and be excluded in any way the teacher can find in the activity you're very passionate about. I tried to switch schools when it got too bad, but the Cherry Creek school system did not have space for me anywhere else that year.

The science and math departments are much better in terms of the teachers being kind and approachable, but there is a lot of work that can be done for boosting comprehension especially in math and science AP courses.

There is a very steep divide between regular courses and AP courses. If you pursue honors diploma and related honor societies / things that result in honor cords -- there is a very big push to immediately get you into a prestigious 4 year institution. I say that mostly in that you will feel disappointment from your social circle and staff involved in AP/related courses if you do not "achieve" that right out of their school, there is no actual help with test preparation, scholarships, or application essays, or how to pursue recommendations. They do not discuss college debt or alternative options to a traditional 4 year, leaving many students in a not ideal position, just so the school can boost their stats.

Ultimately Eaglecrest should invest more in actually preparing students for college/career -- while also checking a few of the teachers who bully students (way worse than any student bullying, and one time a girl literally threatened to knock me out because I was talking too loud in the hallway, that is whatever though in comparison lol)

Terrible school. I had a good amount of friends and even then I still despised going there everyday. The people there are not nice, and most of the teachers don’t really care. There are exceptions, of course; some teachers are genuine and actually care about the students and what they learn. Every year the school just got worse. I ended up switching schools twice because of it. The first time I switched schools, it only lasted for a month due to complications; so I had to return back to Eaglecrest. However, my senior year was so terrible that I had to switch to online school in the middle of the semester because I couldn’t take it anymore.

Fantastic Teachers and Administrators! This School is great for getting your kid ready for challenges in College with a huge Honors Degree Program and tons of AP classes, if your student wants to, there path is Ivy League or wherever, EHS will prepare them for it!
Of course, like anywhere, there are a few rough spots within the teaching group and kids themselves, but there are incredible advantages and programs offered at EHS to get ready for college!
The sports and activities are outstanding and always getting better!
Highly recommend and Cherry Creek Schools are THE best in the State of Colorado!!!

This school challenges your kids to be better and not to settle...as always, we as parents and our students need to take more responsibility for our actions, because I have noticed that the overall rating of this school has dropped. I for one have seen what cell phones and social media can do to a student when unchecked....it will ruin their motivation and ability to succeed in exchange for superficial "likes"

My daughter is only a freshman just starting or 2nd. Quarter. She loves it there. She doesnt come home and spend the rest of the night on homework. She loves the block scheduling. Shes an AB student. Her Math teacher is wonderful. She has struggled with math since 4th grade even with tutors. This year she has all A's and B's. No more tears every night because she just doesnt get it.

Terrible because at this school people are always fighting and there is just too many bullying going around even my sister is a victim of that. Plus the staff doesn't doing anything to fix that and the teachers don't even teach properly. What a joke to call it a school that supposedly follows its "honor" system. I recommend that if your child has been good take them to a different school.

Eaglecrest has their pros and cons. Sports wise, varsity cheer and basketball is the only sports that seem to be good this year. The academics are okay and I feel that they appreciate the arts more due to their AP studio arts and history classes unlike other schools in the district. But also, the kids who go here are very diverse but I guess you can say a large amount of the kids live in "ghetto" areas. However, there is some "rich white kids" but only a minority. Also I feel that Eaglecrest does a very good job on accepting everyone. Just because a lot of the students here live in poor areas doesn't mean all of them don't want to succeed. Yes, there are many people who don't care about there education. There are at least a couple of those in every high school but there are also the ones who work hard at Eaglecrest who I believe can get a better education somewhere else and be challeneged. Yes, Eaglecrest is a good school but it's not the best.

My son just graduated from here - AMAZING teachers and administration. Don't judge a book by its cover - just because the school is older than the neighboring high schools does not mean there aren't awesome things happening inside. Thank you Raptor community for your commitment to kids and I'm looking forward to my next child going there!

My school is a place with a very caring and friendly atmosphere .Yes there maybe some rumors that there is a lot of conflicts such as sexual harassment and bullying.... BUT i assure you those rumors are completely false .Eaglecrest is a school where if there is to be a fight between to students its resolved within at the very maximum time 2 minutes.The counselors are amazing and very supportive and they really try helping you understand what you need for college.The teachers are outstanding and make themselves available to students as much as they can. The school is like a big family(: this school is an amazing place for people to make new friends .So if you don't like it then idk what to say because its a great place for people who play sports ,play music,love to draw or simply are geeks !its a place for everyone.

It is no secret that Eaglecrest is considered one of the "ghetto" schools in CCSD. I thought it was going to be an awful experience having to attend a school with a poor school environment and low academic standards. I was very wrong. I was involved in the AP program at EHS for all four years that I attended, and I had nothing but positive experiences with all of my teachers. They helped prepare me and encouraged me to pursue a college education, and I've thrived in college because of the skills I was taught at Eaglecrest. When I struggled through my ACT preparation, my teachers helped me with the skills I would need to successfully take the ACT. Because of their help, I was able to achieve a high score and get into the school that I had always wanted to attend, but thought I wouldn't be able to because of my poor test taking skills. I would not be here right now if it wasn't for the countless hours of help my teachers provided me. As with all schools, there are problems with fighting and bullying on occasion. However, I had always found that the administration was very quick to handle the situation, which has helped improve the school environment immensely. EHS rocks!

This school is a nightmare! Bulling fights but most of all my daughter broke her back and the personal did nothing, did not call an ambulance they had her call me. The people that should have known about this knew nothing I informed them it was like it was covered up to protect people. Then they didn't want her to graduate so we fought on that and won she did graduate with her class but no apologies were ever given. I will never send or recommend another kid to go to this school.

Used to be ghetto on the inside, but they just had 8 Million Dollars worth of great changes to the school. It's an amazing place! It has an exceptional theater and choir program, and I think people should know that it's NOT ghetto! It could improve a little on some maintenance issues still. Awesome school! Very excited to start school as a Freshman coming from Thunder Ridge Middle School! I know I don't seem educated on the school since I'm just a Freshman, but I've already had a lot of great experiences in the school :)

I'm starting at Eaglecrest this year, coming from Thunder Ridge Middle School. I've been introduced to some people that go here because I am in the school's marching band, and I have to say that they are some of the friendliest and welcoming people that I've met! They didn't baby us freshmen when we came in but they didn't push us too hard either. The band director here as well as the rest of the Arts' staff and program are excellent. We have a lot of people joining the band from other Cherry Creek Schools as well as from other districts. I like that they allow freshmen to start with an AP course if needed- like I am. It will be a nice experience. I've heard a lot about this school, but based on what I've seen, those rumors aren't true. (: I'm really excited to start at Eaglecrest this year! I would recommend it to others, definitely.

As a parent of two EHS students (one is getting ready to start her sophomore year at a prestigious midwestern university and the other will be a Junior at EHS in the Fall), I can say that EHS has a lot to offer students who want to take advantage of both curricular and extracurricular activities at EHS. The AP program is great and students can choose from a wide variety of courses at EHS. The Honors Diploma program is also top-notch. Whether students are athletes, musicians, science geeks, actors, etc., they will find their niche at EHS. The clubs and programs available rival schools in more affluent areas of town. While EHS is not Cherry Creek H.S. (and shouldn't want to be) in terms of average income of students' families, EHS students have access to all of the great things that Cherry Creek School District has to offer. A student who performs well at EHS will have no problem getting into the "very selective" university/college of his/her choice and probably be offered a scholarship. We have chosen to remain at EHS over the years, despite opportunity to go elsewhere. This is because EHS is a great school with teachers who really care about their students' successes.

I've attended Eaglecrest since freshman year. It definitely has one of the most rigorious AP curriculums in Colorado. I've taken four AP classes in the past and I am taking four currently this year. I've received a passing score with all of my AP tests. Also, our Math department is one of the best in the district. We receive students from Cherokee Trail and Grandview to take Calc 3 here. Our attendance is higher than any other school in Cherry Creek District # 5. The Performing arts department is one of a kind at Eaglecrest(I can proudly brag about). Some students here that get in trouble with the staff and teachers hang out with the wrong kids anyways. I concede that our administration is strict and sometimes is questionable on whether they care for the students or for the statistics, but overall it's not bad. Take the word from someone who is doing well academically at Eaglecrest and who is actually enjoying his high school career. Go to Eaglecrest. If your not open to joining clubs and participating in as much as possible, then surely Eaglecrest isn't for you. In fact, go luck with finding any high school that fits with you.

This is a terrible school I'm a student there and have been sexually harassed there and had verbal assaults from the students and teachers. Most teachers there are vulgar and rude and don't seem to like kids or teaching at all. The staff acts like bullies as well and blatantly ignores substantial issues with the students. I know every school has problems but this school had too many for me to personally overlook them. Do not go here the bullying and kid teacher conflicts are out of control and the school does nothing to stop or even reduce these crazy in incidents.

I can't imagine high school going somewhere else. The negativity in the comments are just petty. Every school will have that one student or parent who gets all frustrated about how they failed a class and the teacher didn't bump it to a D or how they never gained any friends so they decide to give it a bad review on the web. It's high school. The experience is different for everyone. The teachers, staff and students are amazing with a huge variety of things to get involved in. It's not them, it's the reviewer.

Hated this place for some unknown reason. Couldn't stand being in it physically. Drove me nuts. Probably ate lunch there twice in the two years(that's about 180 days a year) I went to this school, I guess due to not having many friends and not talking to people. The actual classes were extremely boring, and not fun but also not very hard for some reason.

As a former student of EHS, I'm shocked to see all of the negativity. I not only greatly enjoyed my time at eaglecrest, but also learned how to prepare myself for college and how to be a better person. It's diversity is what makes it thrive, and the students not only get an education, but learn acceptance of people reguardless of color, creed, and sexual oriention add to the learning. I'm honored to say that because of my time there, I'm a happy, enthhusiastic, and honest person. I learned to be me, and that's more than others can say in less fortunate high schools.
