They are like family. They have shaped and molded my child along with me and I believe that they are the most incredibly gifted and compassionate and professional school I have ever experienced.

They implement the idea of homework which is not in a stringent presentation and allows the younger children to begin approaching the idea with a more positive outlook than any other school I know.

Ive never experienced a staff as loving and professional. I have been a therapist for 15 years and working with children I am very experienced with different schools and I would never have chosen a different one other than this for my own

Our daughter has been going to Ms Martin's school for almost a year. We love it. I checked lot's of schools and this is the only one that focuses on teaching kids to read. She touts a 100 percent success rate. Our daughter is almost four and is sounding out and reading small words. The small size (less than 20) is awesome because there are less snotty noses to get my babe sick. This last year there's been 2.5 teachers for only 15 kids. We love Ms. Britney and ms Belsom as well. They're nice polite calm young ladies that radiate kindness. With the location being just 10 minutes from downtown and next to the broadway exit, it allows us to spend more time with our rocker girl. If you want your child to be kind, polite, and learn to read, check out Ms. Martin's school. If not, I'm sure there a better schools for you.

If you want a school that is accountable to parents for the commitments they make, this is not for you. We were promised several things that never materialized. They will say anything to get you to enroll. Over the last year lessons completely stopped. After several parents complained, lessons resumed, but only for 3 months and only for the students whose parents complained. Not all children are treated the equally. When I asked if my son s nap could be shortened in preparation for kindergarten and for issues sleeping at night I was told he needs to sleep for two hours to give the teachers a break. When trying to bring up issues like napping, or the school not delivering the lessons promised, I was told the school is not accountable to parents. Our family was not trying to ask for anything that wasn t promised. I would not recommend a school that doesn t look at the families as customers and feel obligated to deliver on what s sold and promised. The school lacks appropriate checks and balances (friends hiring friends) and private tutoring during school hours (when enrolled children aren t receiving lessons) raises several ethical concerns.

The Martin School is a wonderful small preschool that has found a great balance between creating a warm and loving environment for young kids, while providing a strong academic program focused on early literacy. My son was reading by 3 years old and while he is learning a lot, he s also having lots of fun. We love the Martin School!

Our son attended the Martin School because we lived in Washington Park and it was the most educational and the affordable. The Montessori school wanted 1,300 and The Martin School was only 975 last year and included all meals and washed the bedding every week for us. I was an active parent at the school doing many play dates and the like so I knew the community quite well. It is very true that if a child does not fit into the community of 18-20 student and is a hitter/bitter and the parents are not being proactive the school will ask you to find a new place. If your looking for a great community and safe learning environment the MArtin School will work for your family. My wife was guaranteed by the owner Mrs. Martin that our son would be reading by age four and test into almost any school in the state and he is reading. He tested into DPS Advanced program as a 4 1/1 year old! We are so very thankful for all Mrs Martin did for our son and family.
