Many of the teachers are excellent and passionate about their roles. The kids love them and they work hard. However, they often say that they feel unsupported by administration. The principal does not communicate and is not present throughout the school. She wavers on her decisions and often has to communicate after a situation occurs because she didn’t get ahead of it. She is unfit and unqualified for the position. Many parents have expressed significant and ongoing concerns to her, the pastor, and the archdiocese. However, little to no change has occurred. Many emails go unanswered. It really makes me sad to lose my faith in Catholic education. A recent State of the School meeting was highly alarming with skewed data, upset parents, and evaded questions. We likely won’t be returning next year and my children have spent years at this school. We have stayed for the community, but Catholic school is a financial sacrifice and we’ve had to hire tutors because the curriculum is not up to date or used properly and many grade level standards are not taught, leaving children behind when they get to the next grade. It’s all been a huge upset that the school has deteriorated over the past few years. We want change. Our voices do not matter.

I applied to this school and went through the interview process and training, as requested by the school administration, but without any explanation, they just did not follow through with what they told me during the interview process. The administrator requested my references and told me to go to the training, that was 3 hours long. I have a lot of experience and professional license. I was going to be subbing only in this school because I am Catholic, and I live close by. For no reason, these individuals running the school changed their mind, and they did not have the respect expected from a Catholic to Catholic to inform of their change, or requested the information from my references. I have a really good professional record and a lot of schooling in post grade work in the American universities. I am planning to inform the Pope in a letter about the bad situation in the USA, nothing to do with the European Catholics....

In 2025 this school adopted a hate agenda and start pushing anti gay and anti trans agenda at the school, They threatened to punish children who were discussing the topics of sexuality and LGBTQ. Additionally they have next to 0 minorities. This is not an all inclusive, emotionally and mentally safe or supportive environment for many children. If you are looking for an all inclusive catholic school, this is not it.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Our Lady of Loreto. The staff and leadership have gone out of their way this year to make sure our kids were able to continue to learn in these trying times.

This is a wonderful environment for students to learn and grow. The classes interact at different age levels and support one another. Academics, sports, Chess, Spelling, Religious education and more are available at this fabulous school. The adults are all very caring.

Where to begin...bullying, fighting, sexual harassment. The worst is the teacher indifference and the retaliation by the school for reporting it to law enforcement. They would rather silence you than deal with the problems.

Worst decision we could have made for our children. Instead of having a school for Kindergarten through 8th grade for them, our kids will now have to endure a traumatic interruption in their education and social life having to switch schools. Too much is wrong here to list, just a lost cause not worth saving.

Some teachers have lost multiple students homework over a several year period, resulting in "zeros" or missed assignments for the kids. Not organized on assigning, collecting, nor maintaining records.

We joined OLOL 3 years ago after attending a public school in Denver and our experience has been amazing. The school community has been incredibly welcoming and supportive. Class sizes are just right and after-school activities have been expanding. My kids love going to school every day.

The teachers we have had in the past 3 years have been amazing. I'm really impressed by the creative teaching methods and varied teaching styles to ensure every child has a chance to learn. They often vary assignments by level within the classroom.

The principal, administration and teachers care deeply about the students and about being good stewards of the Catholic faith. Students are taught about many different virtues and as a parent I witness those virtues everyday when I see the kids on the playground afterschool or when volunteering in the classroom. I'm truly impressed with the character of the students I witness each day.

The principal, teachers and staff are highly engaged in all faucets of the school and student life. I have always received timely responses to my inquiries. There have been a number of improvements over the past 2-years and the leadership looks to continue to make changes based on parent input.

We could not be more pleased with our teachers. Kindergarten is amazing and our child is already beginning to read. Our third grader is challenged accordingly and placed in learning groups with students at the same level. Mrs. Brunner and Ms. Tokarski are outstanding teachers, though from friends with students in the other classes they are equally pleased with their teachers. The addition of Spanish teacher Ms. Gaudet has made a measurable positive impact on the Spanish program. It is such a joy to watch our children go to school excited every day.

Our children are receiving an strong Catholic foundation at OLOL. This leads the school community to value strong character, morals and virtues. Every student who knows you will stop say hello Mr. or Mrs. name, even ones you don't know will wave and smile. Students care for each other. School students and their families have become some of our dearest friends.

The principal is a blessing to the school and the students. He is thoughtful and intentional with his educational approach rooted in experience and data. Our children look forward to seeing him at school. Since his arrival you can feel the enthusiasm from the teachers and their passion for teaching shine. The principal leads by example and values the teachers for the great work they do each and every day. I appreciate the support the Parish and Pastor provide the school and faculty.

Our children's needs are met through their teachers' and instruction. We don't have any learning differences but based on the varied instruction approaches in both classrooms I would assume the school effectively supports students.

It is our experience that our children are receiving a superior education. We enrolled at OLOL when our oldest was entering Kindergarten and is now in 3rd grade with our youngest child in Kindergarten. Class instruction time is well spent. Homework is appropriate for the grade level. Communication is outstanding from our teachers and the principal. Our children are thriving academically as they develop a deep understanding and appreciation of our Catholic faith.

OLOL offers a variety of extracurricular activities and sports. Our child enjoys participating in things such as Spanish Club and Flag Football with classmates. We enjoy the convenience of school sponsored sports beginning in 3rd grade. Attending weekly school Mass is a special time to spend at school. OLOL offers many opportunities to volunteer during the school day and after hours.

Our children are safe and thriving in a school that shares our values and beliefs, and we are thankful everyday for OLOL.

In my opinion, the best rating of a school can come from experience from both the students and the parents. My children love going to school each and are excited for the learning opportunities and the friendships they have formed. As parents, we are grateful to be part of a thriving, faith based community that is not only academically challenging our children, but also helping us to raise children in a values based setting.

My older child has received progressively more homework each year at the school which also seems appropriate to the grade level. The homework has also increased in complexity (more project based learning requiring the students to schedule and plan their time) allowing the students to learn study skills as well as the concepts.

Teachers care deeply about the students. Many teachers are able to divide and run their classes by ability level to ensure they challenge the advanced students while also meeting the needs of those students who need more help.

The school teachings focus on Catholic values which reinforce character development like integrity, compassion and respect. My children have gained just as much at this school related to values and character development as they have related to academics.

The new principal has been instrumental in providing direction and guidance to the overall school curriculum and policies. His direction has allowed the school to almost double enrollment in the lower grades (K - 4) as well as continue to make the school safer, more academically challenging and values driven.

The school has implemented an anti-bullying program across all grades which we have discussed with our children. Recess rules, as implemented and enforced by the teachers, are in place to allow all students the opportunity to participate in activities. I have not seen bullying behaviors at school, school events, school sporting events or outside activities.

The amount of homework varies SIGNIFICANTLY. 30 minutes-1 hour for K-2nd is a bit much. That time increases substantially if you do not have a child that can focus.

Each year has been different. Due to the high turnover, it is hard to predict who your child will have in the upcoming year. There are some really good teachers and some not good. The school does not have a good system for addressing the not good teachers despite multiple complaints from different families. I tried to balance my rating with the really good teachers.

For some aspects yes. The school does not (despite them advocating that they have an anti-bullying program) appropriately address difficult issues. There are definitely mean kids who get away with a lot- especially if you are in the circle of families. We thought it would get better with the new principal.

I used to think more highly; however, it is in difficult situations that you tell the true strength of a leader. You have to have a backbone and be willing to stand up for children who are being bullied. Not making waves if it involves families that are heavily involved in the church and school, shows poor leadership and poor integrity.

If you have special needs, you will have to take your child out of school to get those services and bring them back. If you have special learning needs, do not expect your requirements to be followed. This includes small things.

This is where they seriously need work. Their new anti-bullying program is not being followed. If your child is being picked on or hit, they expect the child to take it and then try to find a teacher. When the kid finds the teacher, they downplay it or tell the kid to tell their homeroom teacher. The level of red tape is ridiculous. Kids shut down when they see nothing being done. If your child stands up for themself, then it is viewed just as bad as being the bully. I am honestly fearful to see how they would handle something really bad happening- that would also be impacted by who the child's family is.

This is our first year at the school. We were a bit apprehensive being it’s still a bit new and a new principal was just hired—but we decided to transition our middle schooler from public school and give them a chance. We are very happy we did. We have seen amazing new habits formed in our son, and huge growth both academically and spiritually. The school has been warm, welcoming and nothing but amazing so far!

This is our first year at Our Lady or Loreto. We have a 6th grade and 4th grade student in the school. We have been blown away by how much they improved their grades and have grown as people at Our Lady of Loreto. Our only regret is that we did not send our children to OLOL sooner! Administration, teachers,and sports coaches are all very supportive and wonderful.

I have 3 kids here, 5th, 3rd, and K. They love it. There are wonderful caring teachers, a solid education, and really friendly classmates. This is our second year here. All of my kids love it. One child transferred from a gifted and talented charter school and another from a different local Catholic school. Both are happy and challenged in a good way. Great for faith formation/solid values, and a good education.

We have had a very positive experience here. Our kids wake up wanting to go to school not crying like our friends kids do at public school because it's overcrowded and too fast paced. The school has a strong academic approach that will get the kids into Regis high school and Ivy league college heyond, cause isn't that what we want for our children. There's no teasing or bullying because of the clothes you are wearing. With the new principal I believe the issues of some of the older posts are all gone. We look forward to our days with this school and hope more parents will choose to invest in their kids future.

My daughter is in her second year at OLOL. She loves it and has made many great friends. We enjoy the sense of community. Ms. Schilling is always available to discuss progress and/or concerns. We have no plans of changing schools and Look forward to our youngest child starting Kindergarten here as well. The school has a strong dedication to the students and families and the recent building addition has been wonderful.

OLOL offers authentic Catholic formation and strong academics. The teachers, staff and principal genuinely care about the well-being of the children. I like that parents are asked to be involved in the school and so this helps build a community. Our oldest child (who entered at middle school) had a wonderful experience that prepared him effectively for high school. Our next child (who entered in elementary school) has had 1 excellent teacher, 1 average teacher and 2 teachers who were ineffective. Fortunately, those two teachers were removed from the school. The new principal (new in August, 2017) has brought a high degree of professionalism to the school. I recommend this school if you want authentic Catholic formation with strong academics from teachers who genuinely care about the well-being of the kids.

The new principal has a more effective approach to supporting learning differences. We appreciate the effort of the teachers and support staff in supporting one of our children who has a diagnosed learning difference. They are honoring her accommodations and parents and teachers are in regular communication.

We have three kids at Our Lady of Loreto. We love the school and the community. They are constantly striving and adapting to improve their school. There is an amazing parent community, strong academics and wonderful whole child development!

Character development comes from the top, from the administrative leaders of the school. When challenges arise, they should be handled with compassion and a cool head as often as possible. When educational challenges are met with anger, defensiveness, finger-pointing and/or an us-vs-them mentality, the students figure out pretty quickly that what they are being taught in their classes may not hold true in the "real world." This shouldn't be happening in grade school.

OLOL does not make accommodations for learning differences, socio-emotional diagnoses, certain injuries/illnesses (case-by-case basis), sensory sensitivities, attention-based challenges, etc. Administration is very clear about this should one of these challenges arise for your child. I've heard that there have been rare exceptions.

The church is wonderful. The parents are wonderful. The test scores are wonderful. The school is ... not for everyone. In the spirit of honesty, if you have a headstrong, independent and/or creative child, you may want to consider other Catholic school options. This particular school needs the children to fit in a certain box, and cannot accommodate those who don't.

Our children not only have a demerit system but also an accolades as well. They are punished when they do something wrong (rare these days) and they are also REWARDED when they do things right!!! Not just with school but with kindness and friendship. Thank you OLOL!!!

What a wonderful gift this school has been. I thought cherry creek schools were the top academically, I was wrong. Along with spiritual growth and a sense of love and community. God send! Mrs. Martinez is such an incredible teacher, such understanding, patience and LOVE for our kiddos. What a treat to be taught by someone like her!!!! SOOOOOOO LUCKY!

The homework has been appropriate each year, with a slight increase ( currently in 2nd grade.) If you want your child to attend a college prep ( Regis Jesuit, Valor, Mullen...) high school, they must be prepared. OLOL offers a strong foundation.

Our Lady of Loreto provides an outstanding religious and academic education and has a very dedicated and competent staff.
I read some of the previous posts and I am stunned! My child is in the 2nd grade and has attended since Kindergarten, (for 3 years -since OLOL opened.)
Yes, 2 teachers left in 2 years, because their spouses were transferred out of State; not because of the administration or the Principal. As a matter of fact, it was my child's class (grade) that was affected both years- so I know the facts. The comments below do not reflect the true nature or reason for their departure.
It is a privilege to have 3 nuns who are dedicated in teaching and nurturing the students. They set high standards for the students and lead by example. The teachers and administration do an amazing job, they are receptive and communicative to parents.
I highly recommend Our Lady of Loreto Catholic school and I know that my child is receiving the best education to prepare her for a High School and beyond.

I'm very pleased to have my daughter here! Her tests scores have been at there highest. The principal, Sister Julia, has done amazing things in 2.5 short years. There are many programs, sports and academic opportunities for the children. I highly recommend Our Lady of Loreto School!

Administration is severely lacking in capability. Completely agree with previous posters that the principal is not qualified and should be removed. Number of teachers that have left in the first two years is alarming, including 4 kindergarten teachers in 2 years. Never has been addressed. Uniform policy is unnecessarily complicated and expensive, and administration is unwilling to budge or accept reasonable alternatives. School has countless errors in day to day communications, and can't even seem to develop a coherent policy to schedule rooms for after hours events. There is a lack of transparency, especially as high-ranking committee members of school boards are handpicked by principal to be her "yes men." Any complaints or discussions are criticized by administration as "spreading gossip" which apparently is against the Catholic faith. In fact, the administration would find the primary purpose of this website to be against the Catholic teachings. We have already looked into other schools because of our concerns with the administration capabilities. There are considerable red flags that suggest this school will struggle over its long term growth.

There was a child who had an issue with hitting other students. This was an older child in middle school. Multiple times this occurred and nothing was done to punish the child.

This school lacks leadership. It is run by a small group of parents who bully the administration and the principal. The principal is a weak individual who gives in to the demand of these parents. She also has no credentials or education to be the principal. She needs to be removed. The teachers are pretty good. My kids really liked their music and Spanish teacher. However, towards the end of the year we found out that the teacher did not have proper materials to teach Spanish. He had no books. The school failed to provide materials for him and the students. I had paid so much money for them to get a less than mediocre education.

This school lacks leadership. A small group of parents runs the school who are not transparent about their intentions or budget. Teachers and curriculum are not quality. Absolutely not worth the tuition.

OLOL School has been the perfect balance of challenging academics, faith formation and community we were looking for in a school for our children. The rigorous standards of the Denver archdiocese are further enhanced by the amazing teachers and Sisters. Their dedication to each child individually is superb. As a parent, I also appreciate the school community events organized for both fun and faith because it brings family and friends together.

My girls ages 5 and 7 attend Our Lady of Loreto Catholic School. We came from a public Cherry Creek School and we are so impressed at the level of academic rigor and moral teaching that our girls are receiving. The staff is wonderful and treats each child as an individual. The kids get an individualized education based on their strengths and weaknesses. We could not be happier. We love the staff, nuns and priests who are such a big part of our school.

Our Lady of Loreto School combines strong academics with formation in the Catholic faith. In addition to the strong academic curriculum, students attend weekly Mass, have morning and afternoon prayers, celebrate Feast Days and have many other opportunities to learn and practice their faith. The limited size of the school allows students to get the individual attention they need with any academic subjects. We have had experience with the public schools but have found that the Catholic school experience to far exceeds the academic and moral formation offered by the public schools.

Our Lady of Loreto has proven to be a wonderful gift for my child. In their first year open, the school is already proving itself as an academic leader in the greater Denver area. Their faith-based curriculum has been well-received by my young child and I could not be more impressed with the tremendous teaching staff.
