As, a former student, this school brought trauma for me, when I faced racial iniquity.

I felt like a criminal, and my teacher promised me my permanent record would reflect that. When hearing that, I felt a shock that would change my life forever for something I hadnt done. I felt like a villain but inside I knew Im a true hearted person. Yet, my teacher seemed to believe some grand illusion that the color of my skin made me punishable for every fault, whether it was my own or someone elses. Each day it just became a habit: I woke up, I went to class, and I got in trouble for something any other student would be forgiven for. I planned out what to say every time a student complained about me, and I did the exact same thing to get myself out of troubleI told the truth and it got me nowhere. As this continued and I got used to being blamed for simple mistakes, I started to feel less emotional. Getting sent to the principal's office for laughing or talking to another student began to feel normal even though only the black kids were forced to do it.

In gym class I had a regular habit of being blamed for doing nothing at all. One day as we were sitting on the field, I was staying quiet then a student whispered to me. I didnt respond, but the teacher yelled at me to run two laps for interrupting class. I attempted to explain that it was the student sitting next to me, but he cut me off and yelled to do another two laps. I sprinted the four laps in rage, and when I came back, the whisperer was laughing at me. I ignored him.

I realized that the problem at Calvary Christian Academy was the school itself and not me. I felt for the first time that I was actually a good student, and I am happy to say that that feeling put me on a path of healing that I am still on today. I realize that the way I was treated by teachers and the students who used me as a scapegoat does not define who I am as a person, and from here I set out to prove them wrong.

- The only positive thing about this school are the pastors. They actually care and pray for you, anytime youre down, they pick you up. Also festival calvary had brought for family & friends was good too, but thats it.
- This school is NOT for dreamers who wants to succeed

This school has a good system and curriculum, but you need a very specific child to attend it. Certain teachers belittled aspirations of students hopes for their future instead of helping them achieve their goals. If you have a younger child, this school is suitable because of the order and rules they apply. Otherwise, please don't send your child here. There are so many other options to help your child achieve what they want to be in life. Almost all other schools offer much more opportunities and encouragement. They don't even hire people with an educational background, but rather random church attendees that know about God. The last half of the year I barely learned any math, and I didn't take a single math test. There's so much more to a teacher than just Godly values, and while I appreciate that they want us to know about God, Bible knowledge isn't going to get me through a math test. A specific teacher made the children with slower learning abilities feel as if they were defective or overreacting instead of helping them. I'm glad they removed the middle school, and I hope they can make improvements in the future. If you have a younger child that wants to grow in the Lord, I recommend this school, but remember the other options you have.

This school sucks the teachers here so rude. They Favorite the pastors kids and its not fair. The principal also rude She hates me and my friends when we literally did nothing wrong. The teachers talk shi about you when they tell you not to gossip but they gossip which is stupid & hypocritical. Overall this school is not good would not RECOMMEND!

I've read the reviews of other people and heard all sort of stuff about Calvary Christian Academy but in my opinion, my experience is totally the opposite. If you're looking for a school that offers great education grounded in Christian values, look no further than Calvary Christian Academy. This school is truly exceptional in every way. My daughter is currently enrolled in kindergarten and as soon as my son hits school age, I will be enrolling him at Calvary Christian Academy as well.

I've did my research before I enrolled my daughter at this school. I've compared curriculums from Cherry creek school district, DPS, and another Christian school across the street. Calvary Christian Academy is definitely advanced with school curriculum plus Christian doctrines.

The faculty and staff at Calvary Christian Academy are truly outstanding. They are not only highly skilled educators, but also kind, compassionate individuals who truly care about their students. They work tirelessly to create a positive and supportive learning environment, and they are always willing to go above and beyond to help students succeed.

The curriculum at Calvary Christian Academy is rigorous and challenging, yet it is also designed to be accessible to students of all abilities. The teachers use a variety of teaching methods to ensure that each student is engaged and challenged in a way that is appropriate for their learning style.

What I appreciate most about Calvary Christian Academy is the emphasis on character development and faith-based values. The school encourages students to develop strong moral character and to make a positive impact on their community. The integration of faith into all aspects of the curriculum provides a strong foundation for students to grow and develop as individuals.

Overall, I cannot recommend Calvary Christian Academy highly enough. It is a truly exceptional school that provides an outstanding education and a nurturing, supportive environment for students. If you're looking for a school that will help your child grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally, Calvary Christian Academy is the perfect choice.

I dont like this school, because they teach wrong history and they go too hard on kids. They dont even have a nurse so when your kid is hurt, they only send them home. They discourage kids that try to follow their dream. They couldnt even manage the school, so middle school wont be here next year. they favorite pastors kids, and give them more attention. They write kids up for dumb things. The school is supposed to be a Christian school, but they dont show it.

4/5/23 Really love this school. Tuition is $7k for the upcoming year (8/2023) but in my opinion it's totally worth it. (There will be K - 5th grade for 2023-24.) They use the Bob Jones curriculum, so it's very good. The class work circles around, so that once they introduce a concept in a simple fashion, then it gets a little harder, and a little harder, increasing by small increments, until they know the subject pretty well. If you have a special needs child that might need an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) then you might want to go with a public school that has a dozen extra staff members for those needs, but from what I've heard from 2 other parents, they do a good job of accommodating kids as best they can...but like they won't be pulled out of class and put with several specialists for that subject, as there aren't that many spare teachers. Each grade has 1 to 2 teachers, based on the # of kids in the grade. They have before and after school care (you have to pay), every day there is school. They learn a bible verse every week, they have Chapel every week, they have PE twice a week, they all bring their own bible, and they study from it together, media (computers) every week. They pray before eating, and in the classroom at times. They pray for sick classmates. All the teachers are born again believers. If you don't love Jesus, this is not going to be the school for you. It has been a little on the hard side for our kid to learn, but the kid does well if studies for tests. You DO know what's going to be on tests, because they review for a test the day before the test, and when the review comes home that night, it's plainly labeled "Math Review" or whatever. So if you understand that paper, then you will do well on the test, there are no surprises as to what you need to know. You do have to bring your own lunch every day. At the beginning of lunch they have 5 minutes of quiet time so the kids can spend some time eating, then they can eat and talk for the remaining 25 minutes. They are taught to clean up (cloths and sanitizer) their table space when they are done eating. They eat at tables of about 6 kids from their class. All the kids in a grade seem to get along very well together. If someone says something mean about somebody, it is addressed. Kids are taught to be loving and kind to everyone else. Basically, if you want your kid to be taught in a Godly environment, you should give this school a try. The Principal is very nice

Do not send your child their money cow school. Its all about the money. They do not have teachers with teaching background. They hire their own church members without teaching background.

It ended up being a pretty native experience. Our child ended up having some very specific special needs that have are helped in public school. Calvary incorrectly saw them as behavior or mental health issues. They would be wise to learn to saythis is beyond our scope of training.

Is your child perfect? If so, then this is the school for you. Otherwise, if your child messes up or is not perfect, I would not enroll them here. Unfortunately I do not see the heart of Christ here. It saddens me. My son went here and it was an aweful experience for him. The staff at times were willing to help, but in the end, they didn't. This is not up to par in my opinion. I love Ed Taylor and he speaks and teaches truth, but is not a reflection on him through the school. The school is ran by someone who seems tired, and not very compassionate. The teachers seem run-down and unqualified. and some of the teachers lost all control of the classroom. :(

Unless you follow the church's doctrine and, more importantly, are fully acquiescent to the principal's autocracy, your children will receive a mediocre education to no fault of the school's compliant teachers. There are too many other schools to consider for your children than to settle for Calvary Christian Academy in Aurora, CO.

My son was in APS for P-2, home schooled grade 3, Lotus for 4-5 and Calvary Christian Academy for 6-7. He likes CCA best, and I do too. The teacher-student and teacher-parent relations are excellent. All of the teachers know me and my son by name. Unlike APS and Lotus, there is very good discipline and learning. The curriculum is excellent, with a Christian world view. Creation, not evolution is true. I wish I could have learned even in high school what my son is learning in middle school. The children learn good character and skills. My son has to work hard to make straight As. He is taught to do his best, and is doing so. It was hard for me to pay for school, but we got a partial scholarship that helped, and it was the best investment in my son I could ever have made.
