First I want to start with I believe it can be a pretty decent School of course the kids are great some teachers are better than others. I noticed when I come in the front they're not that friendly up front sometimes they talk amongst each other and ignore you when you come in. Unlike vanguard West every time I walk into vanguard West they greet you and make you feel like you belong there. They actually interact with you at vanguard West. Most of the time at vanguard East whoever's up front seems to be very moody some days they say something some days they don't most of the time they don't say anything to me. Little do they know I'm very involved in the school and I support the school wholeheartedly. It's just a few people maybe should be in the positions that they are in but that's not up to me I just hope it gets better.

As a parent seeing my child playing an instrument in the same room they use as the gym and lunchroom, using the lunch tables as seats was very sad for me. This school is super broke I don t even understand why I have to 50 dollars to get entry when it's so broke my son told me that the boys middle school bathroom does not have towels in it to dry his hands so he wipes it on his shirt this is very sad for me, In the next month or so I will take my child out of this hell that they call a school. Don't put your child in this torture, I don't recommend this school.

I hate this school so much they are really poor the stairs are literally falling apart the gym isn't even a gym its a cafeteria, there is no math teacher and thy make you do edmentum which is really stressful. This school makes you pay 50 dollars to enter but they can't even build a field all they have is a bunch of space fulled with dirt and weeds. The hallways are very stinky. The student stink so bad that they stink up the whole "gym". The bathrooms are falling apart, the girls bathroom sink doesn't even work and they don't even try to fix it. Many teachers left the school, I wouldn't be surprised with these school conditions

Staff make excuses for staff, Board makes excuses for board. They do not want to follow the IEP guidelines let alone the 504 American disabilities act. They do not take accountability for their actions. Teachers and put hands on students.
Their department for children with special needs is below average.
Staff members donÂ’t talk to their leaders!

My child has attended VCE since K. From the day I left my child on day1, I have felt that they have cared. The show up every day with a passion to teach all children and then put up with adults who criticize. I have my issues, but those are parenting related. Vigorous and thought provoking are words that come to mind when I think of VCE. I believe that the school rose to the challenge of the pandemic and have come out wiser and stronger.
The new year is about to begin. I am looking forward to meeting my childÂ’s teachers and finding new ways to motivate.

I recommend this school because my kids love this school and the teachers. After all, they are all nice teachers. This is the best school in the Aurora area. I moved my two kids two years ago, they got straight A in this school I love all of the staff and teachers And don't forget the principal. Especially in 2020 and 2021, they helped my kids move on. Thank you for all of your help and I really appreciate it.

This school has been a blessing for us during the pandemic. I switched my daughter here because of their online model, and I am so happy I did! I have been so impressed by the staff and the administration! She is learning back in person now, and even though she was new to the school this year, all of the students were welcoming. She was bullied at her previous school, and nobody did anything about it. Now, she comes home excited to go to school the next day! She has made so many new friends, and the children are so nice. This school really does seem like a family. She loves her teacher and feels so cared for.
The school is also great for students with special needs and gifted students. I love the challenging work that my daughter has been bringing home, and she loves math again! She comes home every day telling me what she learned, not because that's what she's supposed to do, but because she's actually excited about it! Her teacher has been very communicative about her growth throughout the year and is all-around stellar!
I wholeheartedly recommend this school!

We transferred my daughter to this school in the Fall of 2020 because she was not getting the education that she needed online at her previous school. The school has been wonderful, welcoming and actually has a developed curriculum that easily is taught remotely or in person. They also have live instructions, even as remote learning has taken place and have been available in all means to help my daughter succeed. The Gifted and Talented Program has been awesome, with meetings and laid-out plans, all of which I had to fight to receive at her previous school. The curriculum is challenging and supportive to learning. My son will be starting Kindergarten in the fall and will also be attending Vanguard. Thank you for everything!

This is a great school. Both campuses offer a consistent experience with the East campus offering a high school option. High school at East campus provides a unique experience with small class sizes focused on academics. The sports program is growing now that the building is opening back up.
This school has a rich past and a bright future.

One of the most unique aspects of Vanguard Classical School (East Campus) is its strive to incorporate Character Education into the curriculum. Social-Emotional Learning is not just a piece of our students' experiences here, but the backbone. Students meet with a homeroom advisor at least once a day and address topics such as bullying, character development, and how to volunteer in their communities.

VCS- East is a family. The staff and students embrace our diverse population and have established a culture of our own. We have remained strong through the pandemic. We have endured challenges, like all schools and businesses, and we have come out even stronger on the other side. You will find our academics to be rigorous, our character education to be essential and effective, and our staff unbeatable. VCS- East is a safe place where your child will be loved, treated with utmost respect and kindness, and feel at home.

I have had a really positive experience with leadership. I believe that they care a lot about the school and about the staff that they employ and have tried their very best over this pandemic. I have seen a lot of extremely smart, diverse and motivated students come from the school, and that makes me very proud to work here.

While my experience at this school is limited to a pandemic school year, I will say I'm impressed with the commitment and dedication to the students that the teachers have. Students who have been actively engaged online are showing academic growth even from a remote setting. I look forward to returning in person 5 days a week and seeing a new level of interaction and dedication to the students.

I am fairly new to the school and am super impressed by what I have experienced already. This school has actually been thriving during the pandemic. Students have not experienced the learning loss that has happened with other schools. The transition from in person to online, hybrid learning, and now back to in person learning has been seamless. The staff and teachers at this school love our kiddos! It definitely feels like home. The staff's main priority is that students will be safe as they return to in person instruction. Teachers have been on-point with instruction the whole way through . . . I couldn't be happier with what I have seen, and am so glad to be part of the VCS family!

Was front desk staff and administrative office where really nice. I got the chance observe a first Grade class. It was Amazing watching every student work together as a team with their teacher.

This school has been made 3 years ago and I've been there those past few years and I can strongly tell you that the teachers are in fact disrespectful and only care about comeing and getting there jobs over with.my last year there I had only found 4 teachers that have acutely cared. There are no field trips and if there are you have to pay 20 or more to go. The lunch there is not as good , the burgers smell odd and the lesangia is watery. If you have a kid you should take them to this school and if you do then only take them there for grades k-5 because after 5th grade they will notice that the teachers don't listen and don't care. This school cares more about passing the kids then acually teaching them

While having a license does not make a teacher "good," not having a license or having gone through an education program leaves teachers lacking many skills. There is little-to-no structured mentoring, and teachers do not know what the expectations are for them from administration. If you're going to hire individuals who don't have any teaching experience, you MUST have strong oversight and mentoring in place.
Posted: July 28, 2016
With so many new teachers, there's a complete lack of understanding of how long something will take a child to complete. Also, in grades 7-12, very few teachers communicate regarding daily homework. Consequently, students are being asked to complete upwards of 4 hours of homework each night.
Posted: July 28, 2016
Posted: July 28, 2016
I had desperately hoped that last year's administration change would yield a positive environment for the school community. Unfortunately, this was not the case. There were admittedly a few positive changes, however the most critical component--teacher expertise and mentoring--is still lacking. As a charter school, Vanguard is NOT required to hire licensed teachers. This means that, while all teachers in the building are NCLB qualified, many do not understand child development or pedagogy.
Consequently, teachers with an education background are both burnt out and underpaid (many of the licensed teachers are making *less* than their unlicensed counterparts).
Posted: April 28, 2016
The teachers here are very hateful and disrespectful to us. As a student currently attending this horrid school, I am doing my best to convince my parents to move me. The curriculum is very different and old, and not taught well enough for some people to understand. There are many kids being bullied at this school, and the staff does nothing to fix that. This is a very serious issue, and I recommend you NOT go to this school.
